My son has been with Maryvale's early education in the infant class for about 6 months and I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about the teachers, staff and community at Maryvale. They make you feel like family and when I drop my son off I know he is in the best hands. He had not been around anyone else but myself prior to enrolling so there was an adjustment period for him to get comfortable, now he feels the car park and is jumping out of his seat and excited for school. The teachers are super knowledgeable, communicate very well with parents, and are super personable with the children. Thank you Maryvale for being extended family. After being offered a job, I had to get medical clearance. They asked probing questions in regards to my diagnosis. I answered their questions, not realizing that asking those types of questions is completely illegal. After learning about my diagnosis, they called me to let me know that they were rescinding their offer due to a lack of communication. I sent them proof of answering their phone calls and messaging them daily to update them on my status. They said that it didn't matter because they weren't going to give me the job regardless. The Rosemead Maryvale daycare has been a blessing to our family and is a gem as it serves many working families from different nearby communities. We learned of this place from my husband's friend whose children also attended the Rosemead facility nearly 15 years ago. My children started attending at the infant side at 16 months and after the 2nd birth of our other child at 9 weeks old. Every mother before going back to work is an emotional wreck having to deal with the notion of leaving a baby at the care of another person. Both Ms. Maria and Tina calmed all my fears. They really are amazing care givers and even taught me a thing or two... My eldest child had experienced care into the toddler care program. My husband and I both agree that the experiences on this side has been a great starting foundation. The toddler program emphasis is activity based but they do teach some basic things like recognizing letters, counting, shapes, and colors. Our child mastered these skills and we decided transition into academic based setting was best for them. Our 2nd child still attends and has had only amazing experiences. They have had an occasional ouchie but that's expected especially at this age. Child is now 2 but has already successfully completed potty training. The entire staff has been so helpful in helping to reach this goal. I could not have done this alone especially without the help of Ms. Rosie Ms. Sandy, and Ms. Jemila---I'm so happy NO more diapers!!! The entire administrative staff who I've had dealings with: Ms Jessica, Ms Yesenia, and Ms Wendy have been great and very responsive. Since attending administrative process has improved where the collection of electronic payments can be made. Security codes at the doors and gates enforce improved and tighter security within the faculty premise. The ratio for children on both infant and toddler side is standard The daycare has recently received grants from the school and I've seen brand new equipment and toys for the kids. Overall the daycare is clean and well maintained. Also there is a sense of community here as they have monthly meetings where parents are involved to discuss happenings, improvement, and plan events for the children. If your trying to decide if you want to send your child I suggest visiting this place. My experience and that of my children has only been positive. I'm thankful that my kids have this place as a starting foundation for early education and really appreciate what the entire staff do for all the kids here. read more

Maryvale has been a blessing to our family. Our oldest daughter started in the infant classroom when she was only a few months old. We had chosen this location since it was close to our home at the time. Ms. Tina was absolutely amazing with her. As my daughter moved up, she continued to have wonderful teachers- Ms. Bertha, Ms. Marcela, Ms. Cindy and Ms. Tiffany, to name a few. I always felt comfortable talking to the teachers at pick up and always stopped by the office when I needed to. The staff was/is welcoming. My daughter has progressed so much over the years due to this program. Upon entering preschool, we momentarily moved our daughter to a different daycare that was closer to home (we had moved). We regretted it almost immediately. Due to our work schedule, we never got a chance to talk to the teacher who spent the day with our daughter. There was no communication and the staff was unpleasant. I called Maryvale and asked if we could move our daughter back. They helped set up a start date for my daughter to return. The moment my daughter stepped back on the campus she was welcomed with smiles and hugs from directors, teachers, and peers. Once our second daughter was born, we enrolled her at Maryvale. This is the worse location! Bad staffs and inexperienced when it come to caring for the child. My friends and coworker who enrolled their child there before withdrew in 2 months and had warn me about the staffs at this location before. I feel so fortunate to have found Maryvale Early Education. It is extremely hard to find a daycare that you can trust. My granddaughter started in their Daycare program at the age of 1 and now she is in their preschool program. She is the most well-adjusted, happy, and social little girl - I am so proud of her development while in the care of the Maryvale staff. They truly love and treat the children like they are their own. My granddaughter was able to get into a good routine (Breakfast, Lunch, naptime then snacks. At Maryvale the children are encouraged to be independent and learn the appropriate educational fundamentals to move on to the next phase which is Kindergarten. Their communication with parents is also excellent. I always appreciated knowing what is happening and their constant care and updates regarding the children. I recommend Maryvale wholeheartedly and I encourage anyone looking for quality childcare or preschool for your little one to check Maryvale out. read more

I'm giving two stars because the infant side is AMAZING - the teachers are invested in the children and truly care for your child as if they were their own. Sadly, the preschool side is not as impressive. All that glitters is not Gold. The campus is beautiful and everything is tech forward, but that doesn't make up for the fact that the teachers on the preschool side are disgruntled and aren't there to teach - they are just babysitters. My son was there from 18 months until 32 months (they move from infant to preschool at 30 months). Everything he learned, he learned on the infant side. He had no growth in the two months that he was on the preschool side. He was bit (skin broken), scratched and hit multiple times (more than seven) by the same child and no action (that I could see) was taken to take care of this child's behavior. I personally witnessed the child hitting and pinching other children - not developmentally appropriate behavior, actual aggression. Other than reading to the children, I never saw any 'teaching' or valuable interaction; like I said, they are there to babysit (and they're not even very attentive as such). When you pick up your child, they are most likely running around in the yard or inside playing with toys - teachers just sit down and watch. The school does not value safety; their gates do not have auto closers and parents leave them open a lot - children can push it open and run into the parking lot - I saw it happen more than three times in the month prior to my leaving (July, 2015). In just three weeks at his new school, he can spell common words, knows the months of the year, and recognizes his name - because those teachers actually work with the children, they are not just babysitters. read more

My daughter has attended this daycare for the past 2 years for pre-K and Kindergarten and she loved this place. All the teachers & staffs were so nice and caring. The director (Martha) and assistant director (Donna) were great with kids and they have a strong relationship with parents. My daughter had a hard time adapting to a new school but Martha & Donna took the time to help make her transition easier. Her pre-K teacher, Ms. Elvia was great at comforting her during drop-off. Her Kindergarten teachers, Ms. Michelle and Ms. Tania, were very caring. And all the other teachers also contributed to making this school a memorable place to be at. They 're very organized and the most of the teachers have been there for over 10yrs. My daughter was at a very well-known and much more expensive daycare before this one but I feel that Maryvale was a much better experience for my child and it's way more affordable than her previous daycare. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for wonderful and safe place for their child to grow up and learn! read more

My daughter stayed home with me until she was 2 years old. Right after her 2nd birthday, the transition to Maryvale Day Care was a blessing. This was the first time my daughter would be in a new environment with new people, without me. Jessica was very professional about introducing us to the class and program. I appreciated her help to get enrolled. In October 2015, my daughter's first teachers were Marcela and Lisa! I will forever have a place in my heart for them because they gave me peace as I dropped off my daughter. They are very sweet, enthusiastic and attentive. My daughter was showing improvement immediately. After 2 months, she was ready to transition to the potty training class. There, my daughter met Monica and Karla. They were very dedicated to potty training and didn't let me give up haha. Potty training is tough. My daughter was fully potty trained in less than 3 weeks. I have to give credit where credit is due. Monica and Karla did an exceptional job encouraging my daughter. We even had to sign a contract to promise we will be consistent at home. It's already May 2016 and my daughter's vocabulary has tremendously improved. I hear many of her new words and I'm in shock that she knows that. Brings joy to my heart. Literally. She counts to 20 and sings her ABCs. We did get some ouchy reports that I wasn't happy about, but that can happen anywhere. The teachers can't control the behavior allowed at home by those children's parents. My daughter has met her first best friends. She comes home telling me all their names and what they did. As well has talking about her teachers. Monica has to be her favorite lol. I appreciate the monthly newsletters, menus, events, etc. Well, my daughter is now ready to transition to the preschool side. It's very bittersweet. Ill definitely miss seeing her teachers. I do like that my daughter is transitioning to preschool with 3 other classmates. This will help the transition. I really hope the preschool experience is just as amazing as the toddler side was. Ill definitely update you. I strongly recommend this day care. The thought of Baby #2 doesn't sound as hectic now that I know where I can get child care. read more

As a professional working in early childhood education, I have very high expectations for preschool programs -- and Maryvale has surpassed all of them. It is located on a beautiful campus and is staffed by warm and caring teachers and administrators. I researched preschools in San Gabriel Valley, Downtown LA and Pasadena for over 6 months before selecting Maryvale. My child began attending their program a few years ago and absolutely loves it. They offer infant, toddler, preschool and Kindergarten programs which means your child will benefit from consistency until they are ready to move onto grade school. They also provide a hot breakfast and hot lunch which is a lifesaver for working parents. But what truly stands out is the staff who genuinely care for each and every child. As a first time parent, I was extremely hesitant to send my 2 year old off to full-day daycare -- but after visiting Maryvale and spending a few hours with my child in the classroom, I knew I had found the perfect place. Maryvale feels like a family. To address the previous review that said Maryvale has staff who do not look like teachers -- that is true. Not only do they have teachers and teacher assistants, but housekeepers who make sure everything runs smoothly -- from the breakfasts and lunches that are provided to the kids, to making sure that the facility is clean and sanitary. And the extra staff also means added levels of care and supervision for all the children. I can't say enough good things about Maryvale. I only wish they had a grade school! read more

I used to have good experience with this school years ago but this is no longer the case after the change of management. I withdrew my kid due to poor school management which is inconsiderate, inexperienced and unprofessional. I do not feel they truly care about the well being of the children. They made you sign incident reports or pickup from school on the littlest things and talked about how "bad" your child was in front of them forgetting they were only toddlers who also had feelings. They do not allow open communications among parents and they impose measures to stop parents from sharing with each other i.e. not allowing parent socialization after school by restricting them to leave the campus within 5 minutes of their signing out of their child, not allowing kids to play in the outside open area after pickup. Most teachers were friendly though I don't think they have a good leadership team to give them guidance. I was reluctant to withdraw my kid to begin with since I was worried that she would have a hard time adjusting to a new school. Thanks to an extreme unreasonable incident happened in school that gave me no more reason to keep my kid there. After the switch, I noticed my kid was a lot happier and positive. She told me her old school was boring doing very routine assignments while the playground is big but empty after the removal of the play structure. She also mentioned that her teachers in the new school told her they LOVE her every day. This makes me realize what she has been lacking before in Maryvale - LOVE. Maryvale has a great campus but again, I feel their management needs help while they have to remember that they are serving young children who needs much love and attention, not a bunch of paperwork and disciplinary actions that they don't have a clue on. Next month August will be my daughter YiYi Zhang's last month at Maryvale preschool Rosemead Center. YIYI Has attended Maryvale for 2 years. I want to say Maryvale preschool Rosemead center is the best private preschool. YiYi's teachers are superrrrr nice and understandable. They treat Yiyi like their own kids. The two teachers are superrrrrr knowledgeable!!!! I can tell these two teachers always try their best to teach and keep their students safe. Also, parents do not have to worry about safety issues. All the gates are coded. Parents were issue a code to enter these gates. This is what I really appreciate it. Also, compared to the tuition, I believe Maryvale offers the lowest tuition around the area. Also if you are Chinese or come from other countries, you do not need to worry about communicating with teachers. They are all superrrrrr nice and patient. Maryvale is the best preschool for Rosemead area. I was referred by my my friend. I starting my 3 and 4 years old boy early in September this year, until now I can see a lot of development for my Childs, I love penguins class Ms Tiffany and Ms Cindy are my boy favorite, towards end of the day, I always receive a little message from them, what my child was doing in the class and how much they were eating during the day, that way I will know what am I supposed to prepare for their dinner. I did my research and toured many day care/preschools in the Rosemead area. After visiting a few centers Maryvale out shinned them all. The staff is very welcoming and the center is very clean and well kept. In addition the teachers are very professional and loving. I enrolled child in the Jellyfish preschool class and have been so happy with my child's development. He started the program with very little language and still struggling at potty training. Im so happy to share that in just 1 month into the program the amazing teacher have helped my child master his potty skills and he is talking up a storm! If I could give negative, I would. My son was at Maryvale (this location) for 14 mos. Ms Tina and Ms Berta were great, but once he left the Polar Bear classroom, it went downhill after an incident with Ms Maria arguing with me that my son did not have a ruptured eardrum (when I picked him up that day he had dried pus from his left ear down to his chest, meaning his ear was pussing for hrs!!!). Ms Maria CLAIMED that it was just food. Took him straight to urgent care and it was a ruptured eardrum. He had numerous ouchie reports (one almost EVERY week). Spoke to some other parents and it was the same. I got majorly disappointed when Ms Maria became his teacher AGAIN in the Seahorse classroom. The teachers don't care about the children. If you have an active child, DO NOT put them in this school. If you have a mellow child, they might be ok with the except they might get bullied by another kid. They don't do anything about correcting the toddlers negative behavior, especially if they are causing harm to their peers. This is just an expensive babysitter. Once my son turned 2, he started at his current school. He's been there for 10 mos now and LOVES it there! When he was at Maryvale, he would cry EVERYDAY during dropoff and pickup after he left the Polar Bear room. read more

Today marks the last day for our family at Maryvale's Rosemead Campus. We have been a part of the Maryvale family for last 6 years. They practically raised both our children starting at 9 months of age. Sure our kids took some time to adjust to a structured school setting, but we all the faith in their staff. When searching for a daycare for our kids, we searched high and low in all of the San Gabriel Valley and we knew Maryvale was the one. Academia was not our priority at the time but rather, we were looking for a daycare that was diverse and most importantly nurturing. Our kids flourished as independent thinking/functioning, respectful and mindful children at a young age. We noticed that they socialize well both in and outside of the school setting. Of course, there are hiccups along the road but what daycare doesn't have them. Maryvale created a great foundation and prepped our daughter for TK at her current school where she is now learning Mandarin and English at an accelerated pace. I came to Maryvale initially very last minute a little over a year ago when the in-home day care down the street from my job cancelled on me two days before my son was to start. Things were meant to be because they had one opening in the classroom my son was the correct age for. I visited and immediately had a positive feeling about the facility, teachers, and administration. That initial impression was completely correct and they have gone above and beyond my expectations. My three year old loves going to school, and all the staff (even those I don't know) seem to know both my boys and greet them by name (I also have a one year old who began attending a few months ago). I also work in education with preschoolers and older students and am happy to say that Maryvale is developmentally appropriate in their approach to learning, gently pushing when students are ready (such as with potty-training my older son when I wasn't sure if he could do it, which he quickly did - thank you Maryvale!), but then understanding that toddlers are toddlers and treating them as such, not as miniature kindergartners and expecting more than they are capable of, which many educators seem to do in other settings. I have also only had positive interactions with the administration. Every time I have a concern or worry (and I am a very high-needs parent who has many, I'm afraid) about my child's development, behavior, or peer interaction, they have addressed it professionally and immediately and worked with the teacher and me to figure out an appropriate solution. My older son talks about his teachers all the time at home and my baby who doesn't always want others besides mommy or daddy to hold him, happily says goodbye to me each morning from Ms. Tina's arms (she is the incredible lead teacher in the baby room). My small complaints are really unimportant - I wish they served more "real" vegetables with lunch instead of so much green salad, which seems to show up more often than other options. I wish they were open at 6:30 instead of 7:00, I'd like more details on the toddler daily information sheet (I devour reading every little bit of information about their day and miss the detail level of the infant program on the preschool side). But, if that's all I have to complain about... well, just goes to show you how great a child care facility this is. read more

I believe that Maryvale is the best school for my child and that she is safe, healthy, happy and well cared for. My daughter has attended this school since she was an infant, and she is now on the Preschool side. There aren't enough good things that I can say about Maryvale and their staff. Reading some of the negative reviews on here makes me sad and I feel compelled to speak up for the teachers and administration. Are things always perfect - no - but our experience has been good since day one. Whenever I have questions or concerns, the teachers and Ms. Jessica always act quickly to make sure that my questions are answered. When there are issues - because quite frankly issues do happen - they get answers and make changes or even assure me that what my daughter and the other children are going through is developmentally normal. Overall this school is awesome and I will be sad when my daughter leaves here to go to Kindergarten. Having an older child I know what it is like to deal with other schools, and they don't communicate as often or thoroughly as the teachers do at Maryvale - these teachers care! read more
