We have been sending my daughter who is almost 2 to kawai kids for some time now. The staff and director are all super nice. They serve breakfast, AM snack, lunch and PM snack and the menu changes weekly. I always hear my picky eater daughter eats a lot and very well there.(seems like she has issues with the food at home tho..lol) My daughter has some food sensitivity that affects her eczema, and we have been packing her replacement food and snack. And they are super accommodating and make sure that she eats those stuff I packed instead of the stuff she is sensitive to. When we have any questions they respond very quickly as well. My husband and I have visited several daycares in the SGV / 626 areas. We settled with Kawai Kids for multiple reasons. First, the price is extremely reasonable. Second, we were nervous to put our 2 years old daughter in daycare since she has been home with me. The staff were so informative, gentle, patience and made sure the transition was smooth. Third, Ms. Nancy is very accommodating and helpful. We received text messages, pictures and just a sense of assurance that our daughter is well taken care of. What we loved about Kawai the most are the activities they have for the kids. Just to name a few, the walking field trips to near by Amy's Bakery, the foam / bubble party, the morning circle time, the smartypant storytime. I found out about Kawai Kids from my gf whose daughter is now an alumni. Funny enough, the way I announced my pregnancy to her was jokingly asking if I could take her daughter's daycare spot once she graduated. My gf had nothing but great things to say about the Kawai Kids program and staff and I 1000% agree! Our daughter was 18 months when she started and now she's 3.5! We live in West Los Angeles and travel over 20 miles each way for Kawai Kids. 405, 10, 60...YES, they are worth every single minute in traffic! The staff here truly care about the well-being and continued growth and development of your child. There are weekly meal schedules and monthly activity calendars posted, along with occasional pictures/videos and conversations with staff at drop off and pick up that keep you in the know. Knowing that my daughter loves her teachers and friends, that she is safe and well cared for at Kawai Kids has helped our family in tremendous ways: establishing a routine for our family, the social development for my daughter, and helping us transition back to work as first time parents to name a few. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Wow! Kawai Kids has been such an amazing daycare for my daughter. It's much more than a daycare, she learned so much in such a short time there. We enrolled our daughter to prepare her for TK to make the transition easier on her and they prepared her so well! She absolutely loved all the staff and her friends there. They keep the kids busy like walking trips, foam parties, picnic time, coloring and so much more! My daughter had a folder she'd work on with different schoolwork pages tailored to her age. The teachers were so kind and communicated well. Our daughter had a couple of rough drop offs but they handled it so well we knew she was being taken care of, she would come home talking about how great of a time she had! I cannot find enough words to express my gratitude to Kawai kids staff. My son has been enrolled for almost three years. The teachers are attentive, patient, loving and genuinely care about each child's individual needs. Every child is different and some may need a little extra guidance, this is the case with my son. He has had some challenges. Miss Nancy is very understanding and supportive, she helped us work through some of the issues. My child has made significant progress with the help of the teachers. Our daughter has been attending Kawai Kids from summer 2022 and will be graduating in summer of 2025. Our older daughter went to daycare from 12 weeks old but COVID changed all plans for our younger daughter. Kawai Kids was the first place she went to outside of home and she only spoke 1-2 syllables in Japanese. Kawai kids has been such a special place to our family. My older daughter was there from age 2-4 and my younger daughter is finishing up her first year there. I love the calendar they put out every month with fun activities and birthday celebrations. They even have special guests that come: librarian, reptile lady, police officer. They also have weekly menus posted. This really helps when I ask my daughters about their day and helps me connect with them. I have a lot of special memories with trick or treating, the Christmas program, and the preschool culmination that they organize. You can tell how hard they work to provide such a wonderful experience for the kids and memorable moments for the parents. But of course, most importantly, the teachers at Kawai are amazing. They are so consistent and they build such caring relationships with the kids. My first daughter kept changing her favorite teacher through out the year because she loved them all. My second daughter struggles a little more socially. However, she knows all her classmates names and calls them all her friends. This is a testament to the nurturing environment and culture they build there. I am so grateful for the level of care my daughters have received and the incredible start to their education. When it comes to your kids, you want the best for them. Their safety and education are very important and you want to make sure they're in the best care possible. Kawai Kids is where you want your kids to be. They are just so amazing and we are so lucky that our kid (and hopefully soon our next kid) is here. We couldn't ask for a better daycare. Miss Nancy is the Director at Kawai Kids and she is just so sweet. She is very informative and keeps you posted on how your child is doing. When we first sent our daughter to daycare, we were so nervous. We didn't know how our then 20 month old would do. Nancy sent us text messages with updates and pictures and clearly, our daughter was having a blast. All the teachers (Miss Nancy, Miss Andrea, Miss Xley, Miss Kassy, and Mr. Mike) are so good with our daughter. You can really see how much they care for her and how much our daughter loves them. When we drop off, our daughter is so happy to see them and when we pick up, she always gives them hugs. Kids don't do that if they don't like the person. It really is comforting to know that your child feels safe and loved. Nancy keeps the parents in the loop of everything that is going on. We get the entire month calendar sent to us in advance so we know what major activities they will be doing. So, if they're painting, you know not to dress your kid in something nice. If they have a fitness day, you know to dress your kid in comfortable clothes. They also go on little nature hikes and field trips for lunch. They do all this orderly with one of those circle ropes where the kids hold on. They have plenty of outside play time; do lots of reading together; learn letters, numbers, and shapes; do planting activities; do cool science experiments; have occasional fire/earthquake drills; have computer days; and much more. They celebrate every kid's birthday and you have the option to come and bring cake and lunch for the party. They also have an Instagram page where they will occasionally post Instastories so you get a glimpse of how your kid is doing. Its always a nice surprise when I see my daughter on it. When you visit, don't be surprised. It is in a house and not a huge daycare facility, but I personally think that's the charm and plus of Kawai Kids. You're not just sending your precious kid to a huge institution; you're sending your kid to a cozy place that will have the ability to take special care of your child. They feed the children breakfast, lunch, and two snacks. They follow some US approved guide/list of foods (forget the name) so you know your kid is eating healthy stuff. They always have nap time and will work with your kid if he/she is not a napper. Our daughter is generally a good napper, but we were worried how she would nap in a different environment. She did just fine. Their price is very good. You pay biweekly whatever amount depending on how often your child goes. There are a couple other initial fees, which is normal for a daycare. As of early 2018, there is a $80 enrollment fee, a $12 fee for their school shirt (which they wear for field trips and picture day), and a $300 refundable deposit. Oh and they accept various forms of payment including Venmo, which makes it so convenient for working parents. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about Kawai Kids. Honestly, our kids don't actually have to go to daycare because we are blessed with grandparents who can watch them. We, however, wanted our girls to go to daycare because we we want them to start getting used to going to school, being around other kids, and following instructions from teachers. We were on the wait list for a long time with our first daughter and when a 1 day/week slot opened, we grabbed it. It then went up to 2 days/week and soon we'll be at 3 days/week. Our 2nd daughter is still on the wait list, so if you want your kid here, make sure you get on the wait list early on. Its totally worth it. I am just so thankful to Kawai Kids for taking care of our daughter, keeping her safe, and educating her. Most of all, I am thankful for the love they show her. read more

There are so many great things to say about Kawai Kids daycare and the staff that this review could be 2 pages long. But I realize that as parents, choosing a daycare is one of the most important things to do for our children because we want to make sure they are cared for properly, safely and at the same time, have the opportunity to learn and bond with other kids. So here are my bullet points to why this place is so great and I couldn't be happier. 1. Learning - Within his first week of going to daycare, I was so shocked at how much more he was speaking. As much as I would like to give myself credit for his great vocabulary now, I know that they do a great job at making learning fun. They sing every day. The do their counting in english and spanish, and he knows all his letters by site. 2. Eating - My son would not eat his food. Even now, he really fights eating anything of substance. Meaning, he won't eat veggies, meats, some fruits etc. But everyday, they work with him and make sure he eats all his food (which includes his veggies and fruits) and give him that extra push he needs to eat all his food. I almost prefer he eats there because then I know for sure he's eating something healthy! 3. Napping - My son would refuse to nap with anyone expect me. (Wont even nap with dad) but they worked with him patiently for almost 2 weeks until he broke that habit and was able to nap on his own. Now he's one of the best nappers there. 4. Socializing - He's made such a great group of friends there. He goes home talking about them and looks forward to seeing them the next day. 5. Teachers - They are so kind and patient with the kids. They genuinely are thrilled to see every kid that comes in and really make it a point to not only teach them things like letters, shapes and counting, they also really try to teach the kids good manners, treating others with respect, sharing and love. Before going to Kawai our daughter had trouble adjusting to any day care we put her in. After 5 days of attending Kawai Kids Day Care she seems happy and is interacting with the other children. Nancy and her team went over and above to send us texts and pictures documenting her improvement each day. We couldn't be happier with the quality of care they are providing our daughter. Also, we noticed there is no television at the day care, so we are confident that our darling does not spend most of her day watching TV, rather is busy with day activities and interacting with other kids. If you want your child to develop mentally, socially, physically, and emotionally, send her to Kawai. This is a long over due review but hopefully it will help other parents understand how great Kawai Kids Day Care (KKDC) is. My two sons are now in elementary school but were cared for by KKDC from 18 months old to five years old. Enrolling them in KKDC was the best thing two hard working parents could have done. My wife had done the research and set the initial appointment with KKDC, but we had no idea the day care was on a residential property. So I was skeptical when we arrived to the address for our appointment. During that period, we had visited numerous day cares on commercial properties with lots of bells and whistles. The issue that turned me off from every other day care is the staff. They were all very nice but seemed to lack control, patience and overall seemed exhausted. It looked like the staff was there mostly to collect a pay check. With KKDC, I saw from day one that the staff loves what they do and are motivated to teach. They had a genuine care for my boys and their development, and could match my boys' energy. There was a little bit of turn over in staff over the 5 years my boys attended and although it was disappointing to see good people move on, Nancy Kawai seems to have a good read on people, as new staff members were just as great. My boys learned a lot at KKDC which has set them up to excel in their elementary school. read more

In the 3 1/2 years that he has been at Kawai Kids he has grown so much, it's where he learned talk, to write, and now to read. There is a monthly calendar so you know exactly what your child will be doing on a given day and the activities are great...music day, computer day, water day in the summertime, Arts & Crafts, & audio book day just to name a few. Learning is fun at Kawai Kids and the teachers are patient and supportive! Another reason I love Kawai Kids is he has made awesome friends. His "best friends" have been there with him since for as long as he can remember. Kawai Kids isn't just a day care, it's a family. The teachers truly care for all of the kids and the parent participation is great. In his previous day care, I never had the chance to interact with any of the other parents but at Kawai Kids parent participation in field trips and holiday activities/parties is encouraged. When my daughter was 2, we were looking to put her in day care a couple days a week. Ms. Nancy of Kawai day care came highly recommended from a good friend, but even then I had my trepidation about the kind of care and attention my daughter would receive. You always read/hear terrible stories of poor care or neglected children. So on our initial visit, we met with Nancy and she showed us around the facility and gave us a run down on what goes on during the day in terms of activities, meals and nap time. I had some personal concerns about things and she addressed them without hesitation. What I liked is they have a transparent type of care. Meaning.. she'll allow surprise visits, except during lunch and nap time just to check up on your child. She's also very responsive if I want to know how my daughter is doing, I can shoot her a quick text. So that's a plus! As a father that works in law enforcement, I'm very cautious where I leave my kids aside from family, but after her first day there. I was put at complete ease. I love how Nancy and her staff responds and interact with the children. I see how they sincerely care for the kids. She encourages the kids to play nicely and to be respectful with each other. They learn new things and occasionally take field trips. My daughter had a hard time getting potty trained and they were very patient with her through the process. Just recently they threw her a no more diaper party. It was a big deal for my daughter. It made her feel special! I also look forward to picking my daughter from daycare and every time I ask her, "Did you have a good day?" and she always responds with... "I had a good day, daddy!" There's so many good things I can say about Nancy and her day care, but seeing is believing. I feel absolutely comfortable leaving my child in their care. It's been almost 5 months of good care. Kawai kids is exceptional! Several of my close friends kids attended and now my younger son goes here part time. I love how Ms Nancy truly cares about the kids and carries my son when I drop him off so he doesn't get sad when I leave. It's the little things! He is one of the younger students but he still participates in the activities with the older kids and comes home talking more, saying more animals names and trying to sing the songs he learns there. The field trips they go on are so cute and all the parents are always invited. I feel at ease when my son is there. It's so hard to find a good daycare that is also reasonably priced.
