For what they offer, I think they do a good job. I took the intro to Burlesque class with a couple girlfriends (we all have dance backgrounds), and it was a pretty good class. It wasn't as painfully slow as I was expecting, but it also wasn't a workout (at all). I'm sure pole is a little more demanding. Pros: - Dim lighting (yay!) makes you feel less self-conscious and sexier when dancing - Nice teacher - Large studio space (even with poles everywhere) so you don't feel cramped Cons: - Awkward waiting room - There is no way I'm wearing borrowed stilettos - Class started late Will I be back? Maybe. Most likely for one of the group parties. If you've never danced before, or you really want to try a sexier style - I encourage you to check it out. P.S. This was a wonderful experience for my girlfriend and I. They have a wide range of classes from the beginner to the advanced and I think that if I did it again I would try the more advanced classes. I am absolutely obsessed with this place. In just two weeks I can already feel the self-confidence I get from attending these classes spreading to other parts of my life. I have only taken the Pole Fitness classes with Erin. She is amazing and super fun to watch. Erin comes around during classes and gives you personal attention and also compliments you in little ways that really boost your attitude. All week long I am thinking about how excited I am to go to class, buying outfits, and new shoes. Suggestions The only two suggestions I have is the definately need a better website with easier sign up/membership options. They also should stagger the classes so their is at least a 15 minute gap in between so that there can be someone at the front desk to greet people and there is time to ask questions/get set up without it eating into the 1 hour. But those two things did not hinder my experience whatsoever! I love Sedusa. read more

LOVE LOVE Sedusa. The studio is big, clean, and beautiful. The instructors are all really nice and knowledgeable. The classes are really well run and anyone can follow along at their own pace. I think the price is really fair considering the quality of instruction plus the option of coming in up to twice a week to practice on your own between the Rose Room and Pole Jam. I learned so much so fast and got really strong. The only reason I've stopped taking classes here is because I'm not local and the commute was getting difficult for me to make. I came here after purchasing a Groupon, one pole dance class and one Video Vixen dance class. I think it was back in October of 2014, and I have been a regular ever since. I am a women's physique competitor, I lift weights daily. I was looking for a way to regain some of the mobility and flexibility I had lost, and something that would help me with my routine on stage which is a combination of dance and bodybuilding poses. I am challenged, humbled, exhilarated and proud after each class. I love the "sexy pole" taught by Carol, she creates a welcoming and safe atmosphere for all women, she is encouraging and patient and has a lot of fun while teaching. I have learned to be more comfortable with, and aware of my own femininity and the power that comes with it. I move more gracefully, I am more aware of my body and the effects it has on people, and I love how i feel more empowered. I have since installed a pole in my home, and love the fact i can practice more on my own schedule. There is nothing raunchy or shameful about pole dancing, it is a beautiful art just as all dance is. Each individual creates their own style and makes the dance their own. I have met some wonderful women and formed some great bonds at Sedusa. The special events, classes and guest dancers are never to be missed. The regular dance classes are great fun, I have taken a few but just cannot fit it all into my busy schedule so I stick to at least one pole dance class a week, and I may even sign up for a second. I literally just got back from my introduction to burlesque class and my friend and I loved it. Such a great work out and stretch. I have slipped disks in my back and tend it be in constant pain -- the beginning worked my back and I believe that this will continue to help strengthen it. It was an intimate class - 4 people plus the instructor and I was perfect. The instructor was warm and bubbly made me feel comfortable doing the moves. I am definitely bigger than the other girls in the class but the instructor helped to modify so that I would still be able to participate to the fullest. Definitely a safe place I did not feel pointed out because I could not reach my leg over the chair. She was subtle in her corrections. The class was so much fun! I will definitely be back for pole fit and another burlesque. Loved Sedusa and will bring some friends along. read more

If sexy dance is what you're into, I'd recommend going here. Sedusa is most definitely on the far more sexy end of the spectrum. Wasn't my cup of tea so I didn't return, but it really depends on your style and what you like. But I felt the series I took was way too slow in terms of the number of things you learn. Carol has such a sweet sensual voice , she inspires you to release that inner sexy kitten in you. The location can be a little tricky to get to since there isn't a sign that sticks out from the side walk, but it's not too tucked in. Plenty of parking. i went in December of 2019 & took a intro class to get a feel for how it was going to be and it's an experience i'll never forget. All the girls were different sizes, from big to small (which i was nervous about being a heavier girl). The instructor and employees were all so so nice and made me feel welcome. Came here because of a Groupon deal and took their Intro to Sexy Pole class. I must admit, I didn't expect for the class to work you out so much! For that class, I recommend wearing leggings or legwarmers or something to cover your knees, since we did some floor work and I stuck to the floor because I got sweaty. They provide the shoes and a positive and supporting space for you to dip your toes in sensual pole arts. I've signed up for their Pole Fit class series and Carol is super responsive and really kind over email. Can't wait for the classes to start! read more

This review is for the intro class. 1) I think first impressions and letting people explore their own versions of sexy are very important. What is sexy to one person is not sexy to all. For instance, a lot of people find baby doll voices repulsive. I got the impression that the instructors version of sexy was the only version right for this studio. 2) I do not recommend taking the intro class if you have any previous experience because there was no room for exploring or doing your own thing in the intro class. 3) The studio is very pretty on the inside. I was impressed by the presentation. 4) I will not be retuning here but I believe it is worth a second chance. The problem is that I shopped around for studios and this one was the only one that didn't make a great first impression. read more

I took the introduction to sensual pole dancing cause of the groupon. the class is one hour long and it was surprisingly full considering it was a friday night. i didnt really know what to expect but everyone gets their own pole in this small room [total of 9 poles i believe?] that is dimly lit. the teacher was super cheerful and sweet, makes everyone comfortable by explaining everything, and even gives one on one time with everyone to make sure they are able to do all the steps! you learn a small routine as well as the basic twirl around the pole. it uses more arm strength then i thought it would be but its lots of fun! the only reason i put 4 stars is because you have to use their stilettos. i tried bringing in my own 5-6inch heels but couldnt use them. i know they probably take very good care of the shoes and keep everything very clean after use but something about wearing shoes other people have worn...and who knows for how many times...just grosses me out. read more

I honestly even stopped a couple times while the rest of the class kept going and I didn't feel like hmm maybe I should go lol I also went alone but the group of women that I was dancing with were great. I really enjoyed the sexy pole class they offer. It was my first time taking the series classes and it felt comfortable and fun. When you take a series course you are able to have a private room for yourself to practice in. I thought it was really awesome to have that available, but I didn't like that there weren't very many mirrors. There is one large mirror, but it's too short to see yourself when you climb the pole. Also, there's a second mirror, but it's not all in one piece. I really appreciate that they have the private room to book for an hour, but it wasn't very helpful to not be able to see yourself...especially as a beginner. So Sedusa, would you be open to adding more fitted mirrors to the Rosé room? read more

I'm a pole beginner...my friend took me to a Power Pole class at Poletential in Redwood City, but that's the only experience I have. I would like to do more, but I live in the South Bay and most of the pole studios are elsewhere. When I heard about Sedusa, I figured I'd give it a try. They unabashedly describe themselves as "the sexy pole studio," and my personal preference is for more of a fitness-based pole workout as opposed to a sensual pole dance class, but I was happy to see Sedusa has a class called Pole Fit. I definitely picked the right class for me. The warm-up moves on the floor were the only part of it that I would be shy doing in front of people I know. The rest of the class was twirls and tricks. I enjoyed the class a lot and would definitely consider coming back. Here are the pros: -It was definitely a great workout (see my note at the end)! -The owner Carol was friendly and welcoming as I entered the studio. She has a lovely boutique next to the studio where you can buy shoes and clothes, and from what I could tell, prices were very fair. And as a size 11, it's very hard to find shoes that fit, but she carries up to size 12 in several styles. -The instructor was patient, clear, and gave individual feedback as we were trying the moves. She had a microphone so she was easily audible. -The "mood lighting" helped keep me from being self-conscious about cellulite as we faced a big mirror on the wall. However, I think I prefer the atmosphere in more brightly lit studios...again, another instance of the fitness pole vs sexy pole difference. -If you decide you want to attend 4 classes in a row, the intro cost gets applied to the $120 for the full series. The cons were: -Value for the money wasn't as good as Poletential. A one-hour drop-in Pole Fit class at Sedusa is $35, but at Poletential that buys you 1.5 hours, and a one-hour class is $20. -You have to wear pole shoes. For the first class, they'll loan you shoes, but then you have to bring your own or buy them from the boutique starting around $50. I actually found the loaners quite comfortable and understood the reasoning...they help you remember to point your toes and create a nice looking leg line. And I found some styles that I liked in the boutique...but it's still another expense to think about, while some studios let you go barefoot. So it remains to be seen whether I'll go back to Sedusa because of its convenient location or Poletential, which is a bit less expensive and more of my style. I got a good workout and would definitely learn a lot from both. Fair warning to the faint of abs...I'm pretty fit from lifting and HIIT, and pole fitness is a WORKOUT. It actually reminds me most of how I've felt after rock climbing. I wasn't surprised this time because I was sore for a week after taking the 1.5 hour class. This was an hour, and I definitely prefer the shorter class, because here I am 2 days later with muscles almost completely recovered from the soreness. read more

My friendand I purchased a Groupon deal. It was really fun. The lady that taught their introduction class was really nice. After the class we thought they would try to pitch some sales for future classes, but nope. We were rushed out of the studio because after our class ended another started another right away, so as we put our shoes on, naturally we were watching for a second until the owner shewed us out. she acted like we were some perverts watching the other woman dance. Then she was a snob to us, probably because we weren't bean pole stripper skinny. We walked out to the front counter to discuss pricing and possible future classes. But nope- the owner was chit chatting with the other attendees sitting twelve feet away, about some event in Vegas that they wanted to attend, as if we were invisable or to fat standing there waiting. I hate to sound angry, but we wanted to talk about possibly buying a membership or attending other classes and we were ignored it was very disappointing. If you can imagine.. the owner looks as if she is an X stripper type or motorcycle looking type of chick with a scratchy voice and no desire to be friendly, sell her services, or make you feel welcomed or comfortable. If you're not a bean pole you may have the same experience. We won't be back! read more

Some friends and I purchased a Groupon offer for Sedusa and bought two offers. I wasn't impressed with either class (the Intro to Pole and what we thought was the Dollicious class) or my experience with this company. I will not be coming back! The check in experience leaves something to be desired! The first time we came, it was a hot mess of getting everyone signed in. And then no one told us the class had already started (even though we were 10 minutes early and were still waiting to be checked in). The class also ended 10 minutes early, and with a 30 minute warm-up....well that's just not much of a class. Then we were waiting for a friend to finished using the restroom after the class and we were asked to leave because one of the instructors had their boyfriend coming in, and no men are allowed to be there when students are present. I was just really taken aback by that, especially when this studio is supposed to be female friendly and a positive place etc. The second time the instructor was getting us signed in and said we didn't have to sign a waiver since we had been recently, but then someone else came out (the owner I think) and was really rude about the policy being that a waiver needs to be signed every time. Sorry lady, you need to let your staff know about your policies, don't be rude to us! The pole class was ok (which is why this rating has two stars instead of one), it was really hard to hear the instructor because the music was so loud, but otherwise a decent time. The Dollicious class turned out not to even be that class (even though we specifically asked before we signed up) and was PACKED. Between the dark room, the 25-30 students, and the 20 minutes of choreography we received, it just wasn't fun and is a hazard with the poles in the way. It was also really uncomfortable to do this class barefoot, which was never mentioned. The teacher was a trip, she kept talking about being sticky with honey, so so sticky....I'm all for being sensual, but this was just ridiculous. Lastly, I was charged for one of the classes, even though I had been careful to follow the instructions on the website for using the Groupon, and politely emailed the company for a refund and the owner Carol was so rude and insinuated that I clearly couldn't follow instructions on how to sign up for the class (too bad it worked for the other class AND my Groupon was shown as being used). What a horribly cranky and poor business woman she is, she clearly does not care about having new clients. This place really needs an office manager who can properly manage the customer experience and billing, and not have Carol involved with anything customer related. read more

I'm a pole addict. After signing up for an intro to pole class, I signed up for a "sexy pole" series. After 3 more series, I am eager to take more. Carol (owner) is awesome! She makes you feel comfortable and safe, and interacts with all of the students, thanks to small class sizes. In addition, she lets you use the upstairs room to practice on your own! I did that every week for a total of 15 weeks, and loved every moment of it. I brought my mother here for a belated mother's day celebration. And while it was not my first time taking a pole dancing class or a sensual dance class it was her first time. The feedback I got from my mother was positive as she felt comfortable and capable enough of doing what was being covered in the introductory class. Though for her it was a bit more difficult to see what the instructor was doing because it was dark/dimly lit in there (which I know is to bring out the mood). Thankfully, one of the students closest to the instructor was willing to trade places with her to resolve this issue. I personally appreciated the cleaning supplies that were provided to wipe down the poles and I did see that the shoes were also sanitized after they were being returned to the front desk. The one thing I did not like was their booking system online .... I had so much technical issues with signing up for the class, got so frustrated that I asked to have it be done for me on their end (which thankfully, they were gracious enough to do). read more

The classes are lots of fun--I've tried Pole Fitness, Video Vixen Pole, and Sexy Pole. I do wish there was more lighting in the studio. Also, the website is not so great. The studio requires that you register for classes online--there is no option to pay in person. The owner will take your credit card info over the phone, but I would probably go to classes more often if I could just easily pay online. Overall good workout. read more

I have completely fallen in love with Ballet Pole! It is innocent but sexy with no ballet experience necessary! If Sedusa offered a life time membership for this class, they would have me at 'tondue". Not only am I learning graceful ballet moves integrated with sass, my body has totally responded to the lengthening and strengthening work out.
