My experience was good, until today. I asked if I could give my son a pep talk after he was in the room to remind him he needed to listen to Ms. Teresa. She snapped at me I'm not allowed in the room (I didn't enter the room). I said to him from the door way said to listen to listen to Ms. Teresa and she nearly pushed me out of the door (she didn't actually touch me) and told me "I need to do that out there". Before literally closing the door on my face. Just highly unprofessional, we decided that was our last class and will be unenrolling from this studio. read more

I would give Dance Attack in Los Gatos 0 stars if I could. Mismanaged operation, RUDE people at the front desk. Their BIG SHOW was great yes, however everything leading up to it was jsut terrible. Poor communication about their costumes, pick up, rehearsal timings. They actually make you buy tickets for your child who is performing, never heard of that before. I left numerous messages for Murphy detailing how things could have been done better but not a single response from her. Shows how much they care about people vs getting their money. extremely disappointed in how studio is run. I would stay away from them. read more

My daugther has taken several different classes here over the years, and the teachers have generally been good, some better than others of course. Classes offered are varied and times/days are fairly good so that you can find one that fits your schedule. My main complaint is the physical facility. We have been going here on and off for years, and it looks like not one cent has been spent on upgrading, or even cleaning the place. The walls look like they haven't been painted in 10 years. They're a sickly, depressing minty green color, filled with scuff marks and dirt. The place is generally dirty feeling and messy. The carpets are absolutely disgusting. I was in there last night for a dress rehearsal, and the smell of dirty, sweaty feet that was permeating from the carpet was so disgusting I had to step outside. I seriously wonder how often they get cleaned. My guess is not often. The baseboards are dirty, the walls are scuffed and marked. The waiting areas have old tables/shelving. The back office area looks messy and super dirty. Seriously, how expensive would it be to just repaint the walls a fresh, lively new color? Paint is cheap!!! This is not a struggling facility. They've been at this location for many years and have tons of students. After my daughter finishes this class/performance next week I'm going to investigate other dance schools. It's too dirty and disgusting to continue going there. read more

My child has taken ballet, tap classes plus summer camp last year. She was taught by several of teachers at the Los Gatos studio. My children have taken classes at a variety of different ballet studios in the area. I did not find Dance Attack to be a serious studio for professional training. The Teachers are nice, however I did not find them to be teaching them a solid foundation for dance. My child enjoyed the disco light and the Pom poms that they got to do in the last 5 minutes. The studio is very worn, tired and dirty. The facility needs to be gutted in my opinion and real dance floors installed. read more

I take Jardys House dance class here. Compared to ODC, this studio is a lot smaller, more plain, and older looking. The floors though, feel much better. Also Elaine is a sweetheart. Not only is the rate cheaper than ODC (with the discount card), we usually get to stay after class is over and practice some more. Jardy is sick if you want to learn jacking and footwork. His Hip Hop is also good, its the old school kind, Not the weird new stuff like Justin timberlake does. read more

Both my daughters are enrolled here and they have been loving it for the last two years. As was stated earlier, the waiting area, aka hallway, could use a lil cleanup, the classes themselves are great. Both my kids have their big performance this upcoming week, and CPC, and they are soo excited. My oldest will doing the performing company this year, so while this will be taking chunks of time, i believe it will be all worth it!!! read more

My daughter has been talking jazz dance here for 5 years. We are heading toward our third big performance at the CPA, which is a highlight of the year. Pros: She has enjoyed her class each year (she just goes one night a week). She has received a solid grounding in technique, and has a lot of fun learning the routines. The instructors do a good job stretching and conditioning at the start of class, coaching each student, and keeping the pace active but not stressful. Each successive class teaches more advance skills. Cons: This year my daughter has had three instructors in her one class. A long-time instructor resigned suddenly (not the school's fault), but the school had difficulty replacing her. The replacements have been good instructors however, and it looks like the latest one will stay through the performance (she better!). Overall a good and recommended experience from our casual dance perspective. read more

My daughter took a hip hop class here a few years back and absolutely loved it! Great vibe, great communication and great customer service. My daughter is currently back taking Jazz and Acro and is having so much fun. We took a few years off due to finances but it's so great to back! Looking forward to this coming dance season and seeing my daughters growth. It could use a little upgrading on the interior but it's not a show stopper for us. read more

My daughter is 4.5 and we have tried this studio twice. The first time she was literally kicked out of the class for crying. There was no attempt to redirect her attention to make her feel more comfortable which a good studio should have been able to accomplish. The second time was much better and she really did enjoy the experience. The instructors were great and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. My low rating is for the appearance of the studio and the lack of safety and attention to the students after class. The studio is very dilapidated in appearance and the last time we were there, both my daughter and I had the stomach flu the very next morning. Also on the last visit, when I went to pick her up, I found her wondering around the shopping complex without any supervision. I wasn't even late. I cannot stress enough that safety of your children is not a priority at Dance Attack. If you are not there 10 minutes before the class ends you should know that their hands are wiped of responsibility for their safety. My stomach turns every time I revisit the sight of my daughter wondering around and what could have happened to her. read more

As a dad, I appreciate the self-confidence gained by my girls, as well as the intense activity and artistic expression promoted by this studio. So I'll admit I loved our old studio way better where my girls started dancing at the age of 2, BUT my daughter took Hip Hop Class here and did not enjoy it due to all the younger kids in the class goofing off and not much being taught. I also do think that they have way to many different age kids in one class. I want to say 7/8 yr olds to teens. My daughter was 12 then turned 13. We decided this studio is not for us as she would have had the same young ages or kids in the next class. read more

My just turned 7 daughter has been loving her combo class (tap, jazz and ballet) for the last 9 months. They seem to do a good job of teaching as well as making it fun. She can't wait for dance class and can't wait to do her "homework". She's enjoyed both Miss Jenny and Miss Katie. I like the fact that she gets a little of everything but the combo classes stop around 8 years old. Saturday AM schedule is well arranged so you could have a few kids in different level classes at the same time. The waiting area is dark and somewhat dingy but they have video feeds of the classes and one way mirrors into the classrooms as well as wifi. I also like the neighboring merchants: walgreens, takeout nearby and I go take classes at core fitness (2 doors down) while she takes her class. My daughter took a combo dance class at the Los Gatos location. The teacher, Miss Katie, was great! She handled the class well and made learning to dance really fun. The floors at this studio were really dirty. They did not look dirty, but my daughter came home with black stains on her tights every week. Ewwww. The other moms (and a couple of nannies) were a-ok, some nice. Unfortunately, the dance studio has no control over the behavior of parents. read more

I take the house dance classes here (not as consistently as I should). The whole place is super friendly, from Elaine and the desk staff, to Jardy and other teachers, to the students themselves. It's a really nice atmosphere plus Jardy is a top notch teacher. read more

Oh man this takes me back! My sister and I took hip-hop with Kory for about 2.5 years when I was in high school. I really like their system of trading off "show years" with "technique years" so that there's not a crappy thrown-together show every few months or whatever. Our classes also had several opporunities to perform at random festivals etc, which was really cool. I definitely credit Kory with giving me actual dance SKILLS and the ability to go out and dance in public. read more

I took a yoga class here and it was wonderful. Amanda clearly knew her stuff, yet let the students have a say in how class went for the day. If we were feeling mellow we worked on stretching. If we were feeling really pumped, we did tons of sun salutations. It was a great experience! I am not much of a dancer, but the whole place had a really great atmosphere. The place is owned by Lee and Elaine Pinto, and in true family owned and operate fashion, their children Keith, Catherine and Juliet teach classes there, along with a host of other great dance teachers. While the bulk of their students are children and teens, they have adult classes, as well. Since getting involved with yoga, and I have been to several of their performances, and the productions have been top notch. The little kid (3-4 years old) routines are adorable! When and if the time comes that I have kids of my own, I'll be taking them here for dance lessons! read more

My daughter takes 4 dance classes here and they are all wonderful. The owner Elaine is pretty nice, and the instructors are hard-core! Talk about knowing their stuff and having some serious experience under their belts! They do have shows every other year and they are awesome. Overall I think the classes they offer are great... they have a broader variety of classes than any other dance school I have ever looked in to. They even offer break dancing and popping classes EEOOWW! I think the studio itself could use a little sprucing up here and there (paint?), but otherwise I give this place major KUDOS! read more

I am writing this only because i am a fan of the arts, first of all Do your research be for you decide on anything and not all in one area because like yelp its only an opinion and sometimes their not always what these sites proclaim. Do your research in whatever art it maybe their are many forms and they tend to be a slight difference across the globe and each and every teacher has their own Style. One thing i have noticed are parents who come to any studio and try to be all this and all that, thinking they know best and most don't But that is another story. Many studios ask the parent to leave or are in other rooms where they can't view because they can be so critical,judgmental and try to be controlling and bring or starting drama in the studios. The child need their freedom knowing their parent isn't sitting their criticizing everything they do, give them the freedom to express them self's, do NOT involve your self or disrupt the class which shows little respect for the class and teacher . I do agree that their are some studios better than other , but also consider this, their are people who have learned to dance in getto areas and have had little money to buy anything but But they had the desire to to dance, and it really does'nt matter what one wears. I had see a girl / woman who was homeless come into a known studio with the desire to want to learn to dance my heart went out to her when i seen her in class, she didn't have the money for new shoes,outfits,etc.al .but the willingness and desire to learn. I worked in a major studio, doing all the maintenance,set up for recitals and shows and watched and listen, sewed my daughters costumes and point shoes and ribbons on them and yes i am a guy. And last thing the studios are not baby sitters, so get their on time and if you can't and can't figure out something to have your child picked up then maybe you should re consider and the time isn't right for you, do blame the studio, when the class ends so does their responsibility, its a business not a day care... read more

Wow! They really can teach you to dance. We are currently taking classes and very pleased with all the teachers.

4 stars goes to the actual content of what was taught to my 4 yo during their Disney summer camp & the sheer amount of fun that she had. However, I still have feedback that I'd like to share with future parents. The first thing I noticed, was a "drop your preschooler off and don't linger" vibe. Which A. I can understand because dance is probably an already distraction prone environment, but B. I want to know what my 4 yo is doing for three hours. So in this area, there should be a lot more communication with the parents. The second is, after every day, my daughters tights where covvvvvvered in yellow footprints. Im assuming from the floor cleaner- but these are our babies, the studio needs to be cleaner. The third is, the teaching style. Personally, I don't call my daughter "dude" or tell her to "Go!"... that's just how my family is. We're in a "repeat everything" stage, and while I'm aware of this stage because I live it, I'd like the teachers to be aware too. I CAN SAY THOUGH, that while I say all of this, my daughter is absolutely in love with her teachers- so this is all simply constructive criticism. I was blown away by all the crafts they did during their camp, their routines & all the fun they all obviously had, and we will definitely be back :) read more

I have two girls on the Performing Company at Dance Attack, my oldest has been dancing there for 10 1/2 years and my younger daugther for 8 years. The level of training has far exceeded my expectations. The Performing Company directors are forever trying to stay current and push the dancers to have a life long careers in dance if they wish. The teachers care so deeply for the students. They teach them life lessons that go beyond the dance studio. They are taught respect, determination, hard work, and to stay humble. It is a positive environment, and has a family feel. From the outside it may not look like much... but the inside is my girls home away from home! read more

My daughter has been dancing at Dance Attack since she was 2.5 years old and we love the family atmosphere, the dance technique she has gained and the ability to develop as an artist. She has created long lasting friendships with her dance friends! The teachers at Dance Attack are caring, kind and very talented. The only downside is that the studio needs some minor improvements to keep the dancers safe (new flooring, improved AC, etc). My daughter is a member of the Performing Company competition team at Dance Attack and has been dancing at the studio for 12 years. She has developed into a strong and technical dancer through her training there. The teachers are caring and take the time to create a strong relationship with the dancers. They are interested in helping the dancers to meet their own personal goals and encourage strong and positive relationships with other team members. The studio doesn't look like much from the outside, but on the inside you will find each studio buzzing with the activity of dancers learning anything from beginning jazz to ballet en pointe and everything in between ... contemporary, tap, hip hop and much more. read more

My daughter is in numerous classes here and part of their repertory. We LOVE Dance Attack! The whole review saying it needs paint, smells, blah blah business is over the top. I was a dancer and sweat is a sign of the pure passion that goes into beautiful technique and performance. I've never seen the place dirty, smelly, or uncared for...if you want a sparkling model home type place I'm guessing the rates would sky rocket and then you'd complain about tuition. My girl loves Ms Amanda, Ms Theresa, and the girls (& YES boys!), & parents in the dance company are so welcoming and positive. No crazy dance moms here, just a huge supportive happy family. We've been to numerous studios trying to find the perfect fit with the perfect blend of technique, discipline, fun, & nurturing teachers. Well we've found it AND if you have a potential male dancer on your hands this is the place for him. There are many classes that boys participate in and they have the same opportunity to get on the performing company just like the girls. Here boy dancers are celebrated and encouraged. My twin boys will be enrolling in Fall classes and we cant wait! Special needs classes are also available, including wheel chair capable classes! Seriously, it doesn't get better than that! Oh and if you're worried about the facility don't be. It's been repainted, has professional dance floors, numerous studios, great sound systems, full length mirrors, a history of trophies you can't compete with, and is clean...lived in, but definitely clean. My daughter has been taking classes at Dance Attack since 2007. Dancing myself for 28 years, I researched every studio in the area and was very picky. They have an amazing teaching staff, Mrs. Mariana is one of the best ballet instructors in the bay area, Mrs. Dasha is the real deal bringing such professionalism and performance experience. The studio is equally strong in every type of dance, which is hard to find. Inna is always willing to go the extra mile in helping all of us at the front desk, and is so very professional. Honestly in reading the review below, I would much rather have an amazing teaching staff that is going to properly teach my daughter in a mint green studio with older carpet, then a mediocre teaching staff with a freshly painted studio. And on a side note, the studio is cleaned daily and has also been painted this summer. Dance studios usually do not smell like roses, just like a basketball court smells like sweaty athletes.....these dancers are working hard. Highly recommend Dance Attack, they are South Bays BEST. read more

We tried the level 1 Ballet class. Even starting in the middle of the year, the class was slow-paced and boring. Teacher was stern and unimaginative. Not a good fit for kids that are high energy, creative, divergent thinkers or actually naturally good at dancing. read more

So you think you can dance? My daughter had an epiphany that it was her dream and destiny to be a dancer at the ripe old age of 14 years old. Through a few difficult life lessons she learned this is late in the game for a girl to start and be serious in the world of dance. She attends a highly ranked (nationally) secondary school that has a nationally ranked and very elite dance team. The team is small and has a very high standard for technical capability. For two years, my daughter tried out for this dance team and wasn't chosen as a member. She received feedback on her auditions that she needed more showmanship (smile) and flexibility. After attending a couple other good dance schools she found a great fit with Dance Attack in Los Gatos. Her instructor , Dasha understood my daughter's objective and helped her understand what she needed to do to succeed. Together they developed a plan to go after it and achieve the dream. Dasha used a serious and classical approach while having FUN with the process. My daughter felt the passion for dance the minute she walked into the studio. After every class, she stood taller and more confident due to the feeling of accomplishment with the workouts. Her self-esteem soared and guess what - she made the elite dance team on her third try. What a life lesson this journey has been. I am so glad that we found Dance Attack in Los Gatos and particularly Miss Dasha. There's a strong team atmosphere that welcomes students and parents to the dance family at Dance Attack. The owner is very personable and with the technology (cameras and flat screen tv's) available in the sitting area parents can watch their students learn and grow. read more

Don't waste your time or money at this studio. It is okay for little kids but once your kids get good and serious about dance - dont bother. Both my daughter and son used to dance there and have now moved on to another studio and boy what a difference. Dance Attack's team is marginal at best. To be on the Performing Company they expect your kid to dedicate all of their time but with little results. There is no individual attention or development. The team looses most of the seniors due to injury or to better studios. Injury prevention is not even a word in their vocabulary. Most of the teachers (with the exception of the Ballet teacher) do not even want to be there. They make no connection with the kids, have no background in child development and really could care less about them other then to pay tuition. Our new studio is totally different - the teachers connect, inspire and really work with each of the kids to develop their strengths. The team is really like a team where everyone works hard and supports each other. There is no yelling and petty behavior from the teachers like at Dance Attack. read more
