I've rented a studio room to practice in with On One Studios multiple times, and although I've had an easy experience the first couple of times, I will no longer be renting with On One Studios, as my most recent experience was unacceptable. I booked a room a little over a week in advance and received a confirmation that my booking went through. I received another email closer to the rental date with a confirmation link, which I clicked. The email had no information regarding any instructions/what to do upon arrival. Previously, an employee had been at the studio to let me in, so I assumed it would be the same this time. Come the day of the rental, I arrive and the studio doors are locked and the lights are off. I understand that I booked the studio for their "off" hours/not during their regular hours, but they should have known I was coming a week in advance. I called 3 times, texted, as well as DMed the Instagram page, but no one answered. I had to find the personal Instagram of one of the On One Studios coordinators to get an answer, and by that time, half an hour had already passed. Alyssa said that I should have received an email with instructions on how to enter the studio, but the email I received had no such instructions. I asked her for instructions on how to get in so I could at least get half an hour of practice in, but she did not respond for another half hour and instead of answering my question, she asked me if I was sure I confirmed my booking and how far in advance I booked. I ended up spending my entire 1.5 hour booking practicing OUTSIDE. Alyssa apologized for the inconvenience and said she was going to check in with the backend team on what happened, but considering I stood in front of the studio for 1.5 hours and was constantly trying to get in contact with someone, I feel like there could've been a better solution/response. They didn't charge me for the rental, but at this point, I wish they did so they would care more about the situation :/ read more

Came for the Saturday night bachata lesson + social dance! $20 cover if you pay beforehand (definitely recommend just sending it over Venmo to avoid eventbrite fees!) The pattern they taught felt more intermediate rather than beginner and that was exciting to see! I've found that most lessons prior to social dances really focus on the basics but the instructor really encouraged us to push ourselves so I was happy to learn a bunch of new moves!! One thing I was kinda of shocked by was that they didn't have a first aid kit of any kind. I asked for a bandaid as I had a small blister forming from my shoes and they didn't have anything to help. One of the attendees was able to grab an extra bandaid he had is his car luckily but I definitely think a dance studio should at-least have a first aid kit of some kinda at easy access. Other than this though the experience was great! Everyone was super friendly and there was lots of room to dance and practice all the moves! They have a water fountain near the bathroom, lots of cubbies to hold items and chairs to rest between dances. Will definitely try to come back for another social dance! read more

Staff and dance instructors were nice. This place is super dusty though and doesn't have AC; they use fans to circulate/cool the air, so the dust will be blowing around. If you have allergies/eczema, I recommend going to other dance studios. read more

I've been here twice for k-pop dance workshops and enjoyed it both times. Most recently, I went to OOK's k-pop community event and we learned the choreo for Cold Blooded. The instructors are extremely kind and easy to talk to. As a beginner, I really appreciated the pacing and the positivity from both the instructors and attendees alike. My very first visit was for a workshop taught by Bongyoung Park in 2018, which I remember being intimidating, but also fun as well! I was able to do a meet and greet with him too which was really cool! Would definitely come back for another workshop! :)) read more

I've been wanting to try a dance class at OOS for years and finally made the time to go with a friend for one of their Saturday Choreo I classes with Anthony as the choreographer. The space itself fit a lot of people and there was ample space to move around. The guy at the front desk was super nice helping us check in and gave us masks to wear since we forgot to bring ours. By no means am I a skilled dancer, but not once did I ever feel bad for coming in at my skill level. The instructor and the other folks taking the class created an environment where you could have fun and learn something as long as you show up and do your best, regardless of skill level. And even though I'm uncoordinated and had struggled a bit for my mind/body to process the same thing (lol), everyone was super encouraging and I never got the vibe that people thought they were better - it was like we were all there to have fun and groove to some good music. As a beginner, I loved the pace that we went at loved the buildup of learning new moves and adding onto what we already learned. My friend and I are already talking about going back to try one of their weekday classes but all the choreo on OOS's IG page look so fun! It was definitely mentally and physically stimulating and it was cool to go out of our comfort zones to try something we don't usually do but thoroughly enjoyed anyways. My first time taking class here after following them for YEARS! I was super excited to take Kpop dance workshop for the first time. I have always kept up with On One's IG and the creatives who teach there, so I was looking forward to finally experiencing everything for myself! The studio is tucked into a plaza with Target, Five Guys, etc so it could be a bit hard to find at first. However, I think its a great location because there's a lot of space outside for people to socialize, mingle, and even dance post/pre class! The studio itself was really clean and well kept. The people at the front desk were really nice, and helpful with getting me checked in. They made sure everyone was masked up and had their vaccination card! The class itself went super well, the instructor was really nice and accomodating for the whole class. The studio is pretty big and spacious. I love the amount of classes that On One provides, and I just recently bought their 4-class pack, so I will definitely be back within the next 30 days to redeem all of my classes. read more

Went to a hip hop beginner dance class and it was so fun and a great price! It was 25 dollars for around an hour and a half of learning alongside other people. The space was pretty big and there were mirrors on two sides of the wall. I would definitely go again with my sister or with other friends for a fun evening activity out. The energy was a bit awkward at first but our instructor did his best to raise the mood and let us know that there's nothing to be embarrassed or anxious about. read more

I think OOS is a great studio for it's community building, the passion and kindness of instructors and staff, and for the variety of dance offerings. The studio itself is worn having been many schools throughout the years, but is excitingly getting the floors renovated. If you're new to dancing choreo or wanting to start at the beginning, come here. You will not be scrutinized for how you move or learn. Instead, you will be encouraged to just dance and follow to the best of your ability and the classes will cheer you on. Not only that, the other students around you are so wonderfully diverse. I think things on the administrative side could be improved, but I imagine that this studio is one of multiple jobs for the staff here and believe they're doing their best. read more

Poor experience. Would not recommend. They did not take us in even after rescheduling and asked for a new booking payment if we wanted to attend the class. We already had tickets approved. However, the front desk lady was very rude. We had to change all our plans for the day because of this. I would not like to learn at a facility where people are disrespectful and cannot keep up with their approved schedules. read more

Before I lived in the area, dance classes and workshops were very hard to come by. Monday Night Workshop (hosted by On One Studios) was the most consistent and closest to Tracy (where I used to live). They kept their consistency, and now they've grown to offer mentor classes to teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced hip hop along with ballet and beginning contemporary and MORE. Not only do they offer a variety, but they offer a foundation for you to grow from as a dancer which is usually overlooked, but is incredibly important. I recommend On One Studios to any dancer at any level because you would just fall in love with the positive and empowering community that they've helped bring together into one studio. Parents, if you want your child to grow in a healthy environment, I recommend you bring them here. If you've googled "hip hop dance classes bay area" you might have seen my blog post where I talk about all the different dance classes that you can take in the Bay Area. So this post about One One Studios is going to replicate what I said that in that post. IT'S FRIGGIN GOOD. I heard about On One Studios when they started out as Monday Night Workshop. If you've done a bit of hip hop dance you know about MNW: Monday nights in this studio they bring in some of the best hip hop choreographers to teach to a packed crowd of hungry dancers. It's amazing. Well now they've blossomed into their own studio. And it's SUPER GONZO OMG AH-MAH-ZING. They officially had their grand opening on 9/9 and it's everything that I've expected from them. It's high quality, it's tough choreography, the vibe of the place is extremely open, the floors are slick and bouncy, and the bass is deep. They teach all levels but just know, their intermediate/advanced levels are serious. The choreographers that come in push their students and because of that you come away with some knowledge that you don't get in many studios. You move faster, your hits are stronger, your textures are more pronounced. I love this place and I think you will too. Their schedule changes weekly, choreographers sometimes switch days they regularly teach but they do teach regularly. Who am I liking lately at On One? So far I'm totally obsessed with Brandon Huynh and Kevin Nguyen. Not easy. Very intricate and difficult. But when you watch them do their choreo you're like OH MY GOD I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DO THAT. So I highly recommend both of them if you're in the mood to challenge yourself and have your mind melted. read more

On One Studios is the PERFECT place for dancers of all levels and styles to work on their craft. The welcoming/supportive environment here is unlike anywhere else and there is definitely something new to be learned each and every class. The staff is always so nice and helpful when it comes to check-in. Since they've been in the game for quite some time, they are definitely experienced and know how to run their business. As someone who barely dances (usually go to work out or when friends want to take a class), I enjoy On On Studios and the environment they have created. The staff is super welcoming, from those that check you in to the teachers they employ. The classes are catered to all ages, ranging from children to young adults, as well as skill levels (beginner, intermediate, and advance). Signing up for a class is simple, as all you have to do is sign up through Mindbody. They accept both card and cash if you end up wanting to go but don't have time to sign up online. Parking isn't bad at all since they're located in a plaza (can back in main area of plaza or in the back closer to the studio itself).
