We were looking to sell our home and wanted to get a reasonable value from a couple different…read moresources so we hired Andel Appraisals and worked with Ray. The process was straightforward and he quickly took pictures of all the rooms for his report. Our home has a total of approximately 3600 square feet above and below grade in an updated 4 level split home. The main dissatisfaction was that the "comps" were not similar to our home and included 4 out of 6 ranches versus our 4 level split on the report. When I called and inquired about this, the secretary and not the appraiser, called me back to explain the appraisal was on square footage above grade. I disagreed because the style of the home and comparative models are pretty important-you want an apples to apples comparable. When i voiced my concern and asked for an update, I received the same unchanged report. I had the impression they did not understand my concern, the local market, recent sale history and shewed me away without revisions. While they are responsive, I would not recommend for family or friends because the lowered care, accuracy and knowledge of the real estate markets.
