From my high end BALL watch to my cheap Japanese quartz Peugeot. Glezer-Kraus does it all!

Big thank you to Glezer-Kraus for their quality work on all my watches. I've given them six watches to fix and each one has been fixed right the first time in perfect working order. I currently have them restoring my omega Seamaster from the 1950s and can't wait to get it. For the quality of work they do, I do not think they are expensive at all as some of these other reviewer's have stated - I'm certainly not a weatlthy person but do appreciate a nice quality watch and see them as mechanical jewelry aside from serving the function of telling time. I've sent my cheap Japanese quartz for crystal change and I wasn't charged an arm and a leg for it. Work is done in a timely manner and done when they say it's done. Friendly staff greats me every time. I highly recommend them for ANY watch service. They know watches and they are THAT good!

**This review is for mail-in service, as I obviously live in Seattle** I own a higher-ish end (Ball) watch that needs an overhaul roughly every 5-7 years. Of course no one tells you this when you buy it! There are only a handful of authorized Ball dealers in the US, and I settled on Glezer-Kraus to overhaul my prized watch and fix the butterfly clasp that had worn out after nearly 15 years of keeping this thing strapped to my wrist. After fixing the clasp, replacing some internal components, they cleaned and polished the stainless steel wristband (at my expense, of course) and the watch looks 95% brand new. I happened to have a before picture (see photos), and I just added an after picture as well. The clasp was very loose and not holding together. After the clasp adjustment, the wristband is crisp and very tight. As far as the overhaul of the internals, only time will tell. I may update this review in a few months if the watch is doing something weird. Over the 15 years that I have owned this watch it has both run fast and run slow and has required periodic adjustment to the time. Pros: Apparently high quality work. Watch looks great. It's only been on my wrist for a few days, but it's ticking away as it should be. I have no reason to think the rest of the repairs were not high quality as well. Cons: --Poor, sluggish, inefficient communication. It can take days to get a response by email. My watch was there for at least a week before anyone called me. --Slow service. This is the third time I have had my watch overhauled, and the first time using G-K. The first two times, I used a local dealer when I was living in Southern California. Each time, the overhaul took one week. This time, I shipped my watch on June 20th. They did not open, eval my watch, nor call me and take my money until July 3rd. I received an email on August 20th saying my watch was finished and would be shipped to me. UPS says the watch did not ship until Sept 4th--2 weeks later. I then received my finished watch on Sept. 9th. That's ~10 weeks without my watch, 8 weeks to actually work on it, and 9 weeks total in their possession. --They don't provide estimates until the watch is in their hands--but neither does anyone else in the industry. It's how they get your watch in their hands and convince you to use them. They will claim the price of parts are so volatile from Switerland (where my watch was made) that it's impossible to quote prices or even give ball park estimates. Bullshit. The three times (2009, 2014, 2019) in which I have had my watch overhauled the price for each service has been within about $20 every single time, with 2019 ironically being the least expensive. --Requires payment up front. Yes, I know this is the industry standard but just because a bunch of rich watch owners can afford to do this doesn't mean it's right. I sent my ~$2,000 to you. In my case, you've spent maybe a couple hundred dollars in parts and labor repairing it. If I disappear, you take possession and then sell it and net a ~$1500 profit in a retail situation. I pointed this out to the person on the phone, she then dug her feet in behind their illogical policy. I had already paid over $100 shipping both ways, so I basically had no choice but to use them to repair my watch. I challenge you to name one other type of business in the service industry where you pay months in advance for said service. I don't do that with car repairs, why should I do this with my watch? One would expect upfront payment would entitle you to rapid, clear communication with regards to your prized possession. Nope, emailing sucked. TLDR version--a lot of rich blowhards have left 5-star reviews that appears to directly correlate with just how much hot air the people in the shop can blow up and into their ass when they visit the store in-person. If you're shipping your watch in, expect slow emails and a long turn around time if you have a Swiss made watch. Quality of work seems very high. But again, my watch sat in a box for one week after it got to their office, and nearly two weeks after them saying it was FINISHED and before even being shipped back to me. Improved email communication would go a long way, especially for someone who has shipped their watch halfway across the country to you to give you their business. With all of that said, I would use them again for another watch repair and can recommend their services.

It's been six months, and I'm still waiting for my Ball watch. That's unconscionable.

I have a 40 year old Seiko Seamaster which I sent to Watch Repair USA for a repair quote. The quote…read morewas $800 which I authorized and waited to hear from them on the repair progress. After three weeks or so I contacted them inquiring about the repair, I was told the technician was still working on my watch. I finally received my repaired watch, it seemed to be working fine but a month prior to the 12 month warranty expiring the watch stopped working. I contacted Watch Repair USA and spoke with Sandra who was most helpful, I sent the watch back to them for repair. They returned my watch to me in a working condition BUT two month later it stopped working AGAIN. Once more I contacted Sandra who informed me that the repair warranty had expired but if I wanted to send it back for further repairs they would be happy to fix it. I am totally pissed off, after paying $800 I expected my "Repaired" watch to be in good working order for a long time but that was not to be. So I am left with a watch which is not working and will have to pay a further repair bill.

Unfortunately, all of the single star votes are too high for these grifters. I sent in a Seiko…read morewatch that is difficult to service being a diver's watch, but was reassured by Sandra Grady that they did indeed work on all Seiko watches, and that a normal battery change and cleaning would bring the watch up to manufactures specifications. The price seemed high, over $400, but I thought it would be within range if the watch received first class attention. What huge mistake on my part. After over four months (as of this date) not only has the watch not been fixed, they could not confirm that the watch was in their possession. It makes one think that they send all their work out....destination unknown. I was able to contest the payment, but no watch, and no idea if I will ever see it again. Filled out form with Illinois Consumer Affairs, and will do the same with BBB. Thinking about filing a police report. In short, stay away from these idiots, and let us hope that their business suffers a total collapse before more "customers" face a similar fate. All facts stated above can be confirmed by email. This business is pure $hit. Truly.
