Joshua Reeder was my sales representative, and besides the wonderful Green family being so great, and who started this company decades ago, Joshua was the other major selling point. He did an amazing job! His communication, honesty, professionalism and kindness went a long way. Last Sunday, I placed a call to Security Central for an emergency need for a home security system. George was immediately returning my call and set up an appointment at my house at a convenient time for me for the next day. He drove up in a clean suv and was immaculately groomed and empathetic to my situation. I had a trust in George as he explained the various features and benefits of a complete security system. He offered me advice from a previous career in law enforcement that was new and useful. Although his company was three weeks out on installations, he worked me in within a week and sent me a reasonable quote quickly. He talked me through the electronic signature patiently. This company may be a security company, but they care little for your safety. The van I saw this morning was driving so recklessly that I would be very careful when you see them on the road. If they are in your neighborhood, it would be best to keep your kids and pets inside. read more

We've been using Security Central for about 5 years now; both in our old house and in our new house. We did have an issue with a couple of the devices installed by the Tech (wrong devices for the area) but their President stepped in and had the issues resolved in no time. It probably shouldn't have had to be escalated to him but I'm pleased he took care of it. I'd happily recommend them to anyone looking for a security monitoring company. read more

Never has there been an issue for us- they are always prompt calling if a pet or balloon or a kid has tripped the system (yes, that's all happened here). We were long-time customers of Security Central, including multiple installs in multiple homes= $$$. This recent experience was our last experience. The proposal was very high, so we got other proposals from reputable companies; all were much lower by thousands of dollars for the same service and equipment, apples to apples. And, even Security Central's monthly monitoring charges were much higher. Out of loyalty, we tried to work with Security Central to understand the vast difference in pricing. We were honest with how their proposal felt like we were being fleeced/excessively charged given the competitive pricing and facts; it was black and white. Unfortunately, their sales supervisor was offended by a customer challenging their pricing and being honest. However, we understand when small-minded people are caught, they get defensive. Indeed, we don't deny anyone a paycheck or profit, but we do expect a fair value for services. We strongly advise others considering Security Central to do so with caution and good sense. Many other companies are willing to work with customers to provide good services at a fair price without getting defensive or offended when confronted by pronounced overcharging. We moved on to a superior company with better pricing and customer service, which you also deserve! read more

I thought we had a good conversation, but apparently not. It is completely inaccurate for you to say your tech explained the chirping sound was not coming from the alarm system and offered to power down the system. Your tech is the one who explained the chirping was coming from a heat sensor, installed by Security Central. It was never offered to power the system down "so that you could be assured it would not disturb you in any way." The PG version is - your tech told me I could sign up for the two year commitment at $32.00 per month or deal with the chirping. When we talked on 10/30 you apologized for your tech, but reiterated your company policy is to only service systems that are currently monitored by Security Central. I then explained that I have since called Springs Security Systems Inc. Their tech came out (free of charge) and quoted the replacement heat sensor. Never once did they try to force me into any type of monitoring commitment. I had them replace the heat sensor. I was so impressed with their level of service and professionalism I had them back out and they replaced the all smoke detectors, heat sensors, and added additional motion sensors and glass breaks. They are now monitoring my system for 30% cheaper than your service. read more

We have used Security Central for home monitoring since 2008 and my parents have been customers for 23 years. Security Central's monitoring services are excellent and their customer service is awesome. As a local business, they care about their customers and go above and beyond. We used a national security company in northern Colorado and never had the peace of mind that anyone was actually monitoring our home. Security Central is always quick to respond, friendly, and helpful. We love their annual paper shredding and electronic recycling day, too! read more

We have a very very old security system that was in the home we purchased 18 months ago. We were able to figure out how to program enhanced features by studying the installer manual. There was one feature we couldn't figure out. After several attempts with the Security Central help line, Mark Horan said he would send out Harry Levin. Harry called to let us know he could be at our home in 15 minutes. When he arrived he went right to the keypad, programmed the feature and tested it for us. To top it off, there was no charge!!! We have had many security systems in many different states during our lives. Security Central is the best company we have ever dealt with. I've spent my entire career in the services industry. The only way a services company can be good/great is if they have good people. Security Central has GREAT people. read more

We used Security Central for a few years with no complaints, then we let our service lapse. Security Central then called about 8 months later and wanted us to pay 8 months worth of bills. Unfortunately they called at a time when my wife answered and she mistakenly paid the back charges. When I found out I called multiple times to try and straighten it out, but they never returned my calls, finally ended up having to cancel service. Will give my money to someone else. read more

Years ago, my family had security central install a security system and my mom still talks about the owner coming out to inspect the work that had been done. Over 20 years later, she is still talking about them and when it came time for me to have a system installed, they didn't disappoint. From the first consolation with Josh we were sold. Josh took the time to walk the house with us, provide recommendations, and even asked us if we had any worry spots. When we got the estimate, the prices were great. I felt bad for Josh because I must have exchanged 20 emails with him because I couldn't decide which route I wanted to go. When I finally decided which route we were going Jon, was awesome. John showed up with his own vacuum and booties to make sure he didn't make a mess. My wife was really pleased that he took time to make sure the system was working properly and even tested it with my dogs to make sure they wouldn't set off the alarm. If you are looking for a security system don't waist your time shopping these guys are the awesome. read more

Security Central, Inc. has been a peerless security system provider at our home since 2009. From their first sales team visit to each new day of service, I have been impressed with their ethics, service, courtesy, efficiency, value, and technical capabilities. They provide excellent value because they are efficient. We have used Security Central for several years now, experiencing prompt, effective services. The previous reviewer's comment is polar opposite to our experience. When I look at the previous reviewers profile, nearly all his reviews of others' services are 1-star reviews which in my opinion shows a pattern. In any case, we've not had anything remotely similar to this kind of service from Security Central, Inc. The staff and leadership has bent over backwards to provide rational problem solving whenever there was a problem. They took time to explain their recommendations, and I followed-up, confirming the veracity of their answers. For example, we found that one method of alarm monitoring communication to our area was generally inconsistent due to third party providers. Security Central (for free) undertook methodical troubleshooting and provided solutions. We've used other services in the past at another home. Those companies do not match up. I write this long review because I don't want to see unfair, adverse effects on the company that has done such a fine job for us to date. read more
