First things first; Secure Data Recovery (SDR) was able to successfully recover all the data from an SSD that I couldn't gain access to using neither a SATA nor a USB connector, and at least 4 different recovery software programs. They appear to have recovered every single bit and did so within the promised time frame of 5-9 business days from receipt of the drive. If I ever get in the situation again where I NEED to recover a drive and cannot gain access, SDR is an obvious candidate for the job. So; on time and good result! But, as expected; not exactly cheap. In fairness; if you get the drive to them, they will take a look at it (for free) and see if they think they can recover it and at what cost. At that point in time you can back out without any cost to you. If you chose to continue you have to let them put an authorization for the estimated amount on a credit card before they will attempt the actual recovery which is fair. And while the price seemed high, it would have cost us more to recreate the data. While I had backups of more than 98% of my stuff, I suddenly found out what my back-ups were missing, and it would have taken weeks if not months to recreate much of that info. Lesson learned. As my data was recovered I cannot vouch for their claim that they won't charge you unless they recover the data. All in all; I'm happy I sent the drive there and got my data back. read more

My story is no different then most people posting, Hard drive crashed and I didn't have a backup. time to pay someone to recover the data or just forget it. I did a quick google search and picked Secure Data Recovery Services. A simple online request form followed up by a call from Fredrick Wright from customer services who help me with process. A couple of day after I sent the Hard drive to Secure Data they sent me the quote for recovery. I knew their is a cost in technical services, but I was a little shocked at the actual price, but going from the many online postings data recovery is expensive! I did not do recovery services for any of our businesses; rather it was an old hard drive I used in college.
