Lots of walking, very large resort..:: not all elevators were functioning. BEACH photos are either photo-shopped or, if you notice, simply not shown. Basically, there is no beach, so don't plan on a beach walk! Didn't seem like a 2 year old resort. Was this another resort then purchased by AMR? Don't plan on an adults only vacation, screaming kids in pool all the time. (Maybe jungle view would have been better!) The only redeeming factor was the fact that the Food was great.

Just left our preferred stay at Secrets Bahia Mita in PV. My husband and I have mutually concluded that the resort has 2 redeeming factors. 1. The food is delicious 2. The beds are so comfy. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend or come back. Those that may not know or want a kid-free experience, secrets is billed as an adults only. However the second tower you see pictured is family friendly & there are children everywhere. There is almost no separation between that so if your seeking no screaming, crying or splashing... be warned. The hotel is beautiful & it is gigantic maze. You'll definitely get your exercise. One of our friends the first night expressed, "damn I should've brought my hiking boots." Lol! Anyway, most important of all, we concur that the service here, overall, has been the worst of any vacation we've ever taken. We are used to making friends with staff, keeping in touch with them and over-the-top friendliness & good moods. Most everyone we interacted with seemed like they were being forced to be there (which I'm sure they're not, it was just the feeling we got) & were less than friendly. I had a man at the bell station even get flat rude with me while sitting on a bench waiting for a taxi. Again, overall it's pretty, beds are nice and food is great but it's not enough to persuade me to return. There's other beautiful resorts in our future, but it won't be this one. One more additional bonus was the beautiful sunset but that's more of a brag on the area!

STAY FAR AWAY, GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Youve been forewarned. Terrible, rude, arrogant, obnoxious, poor, dismal, what else can we say. We've traveled plenty and this is our worst experience ever. Don't be fooled by the "artificial glamour", decent looking hotel with MOTEL 6 experience. Complaints go unnoticed, elevators shut down many times, certain spots reek of feces, dangerous beach (no warning signs) thorns and sharp rocks all over, there own staff complained about restrooms being to far, food is barely edible. I personally emailed AMR and Jennifer Salcedo (eConcierge and Social Media Manager) on our 1st day, expressing that I do not want to leave a bad review but just wanted some of these issues addressed. No reply. BRIGHT STARS HOWEVER, Manuel @ Portofino, Jose @ poolside service, Floridama @ housekeeping, Frank @ Manatee Bar. DARK STAR, Worst experience Hector, manager at Seaside Grill, nasty, rude and unwelcoming. Update, just checked out and left this place, (straight out of a nightmare, you won't believe it) my two friends and cousin's wife got stuck in the "lone" elevator" for 5 minutes. Complained to Ernesto, in the end, excuses". GLAD TO GO BACK HOME". Will visit Vallarta area again for sure, but never at Secrets/ Dreams Bahia Mita!!!

i'm here for my honeymoon and the stars are pretty accurate. first i'll tell you what i love. service is excellent, strait out of the chick fil a manual with the "my pleasure" you get after every thank you. the hotel is very high end i work in construction and i spotted a few very nice details that only the more wealthy customers of mine have (bathroom faucets brands, tiles, rainfall showers and more). but honestly other than that i can't think of anything taht would make me decide to come back. food is a 3/10, pools close early l, music is only like 2 hours long, drinks are water with a hint of whatever you ask for, and when the pools are closing you know they're closing an hour before they do(water gets cold, workers disappear). overall this hotels boring and seems to be a 40/50 + hotel for people who are here for peace and quiet. oh and you have to take 36.5 elevators to get anywhere (obviously exaggerated but this hotel is a bit of a maze that takes about 3-4 days to get used too)

The property is beautifully maintained and everyday, we saw crews trimming the hedges just right, fixing one of their many water fountains, and raking the sand. Prior to our arrival I arranged transportation to/from the airport and the directions provided were very precise. Upon entering the gate for the resort, you are ensconced with the beautiful, lush greenery of the property. The property is huge as it shares the golf course with multiple resorts within the gates to include the Four Seasons. On your first trip to the property, it is a rather long drive as they want you to take in your surroundings, however, during your stay if you leave the property, they take a shorter exit. When we arrived, we were escorted to the veranda where we were welcomed by the lovely Jessica, who went over our reservation and explained the property. We were asked if we would like the NYT and USA Today daily and we chose the paper edition of both. We were excited to have a full printed newspaper that we could enjoy during breakfast. After about 20 minutes, we were shown to our room and within 10 minutes, Jaime, our assigned butler, arrived to go over their services as well as the room. We had a huge garden view room with a partial view of the ocean that included a private balcony as well as an outdoor shower that was lovely. Having a butler was very nice because you could text them for anything. I especially liked that each day, you could get 2 items pressed per person and they will also run you a bubble bath with salts which came in handy after a full day of excursions. The only complaint we had for the rooms was that the toilet lids did not soft close and instead, slammed down and also, they have the cheap Conair hair dryers, the ones that smell like it's going to catch fire if you use it for too long. I made the mistake of leaving behind my travel hair dryer and I implore you do not leave yours behind as you will regret it. The next day we awoke to discover that the "printed paper" left in our door handle, were just photocopies of each paper and not the whole paper either, so that was a bit disappointing. When we arrived for breakfast, another disappointment was that the free breakfast was only for the buffet. Although they have a menu, it is not free if you order from it. That was shocking because one of our favorite resorts is the Waldorf in Cabo and our breakfast could be ordered from the menu and their food was gourmet and delicious! As we were headed to the pool, I did not see a beach bag in our closet and when we contacted the butler, we were told that they do not provide beach bags! But guess who does, The Waldorf in Cabo! I had several beach bags at home and left them because I assumed the St. Regis would have provided one. Seriously, for the amount of money you pay per night, that is the least they could do. They do have 3 pools on property and only 1 is for adults only which was nice. The chairs are on a first come basis, so each day, we stopped by before breakfast to claim our chairs as we did not want to get stuck with a chair without umbrellas. When you look at the menu, it states that they provide fresh, complimentary snacks daily and that was so far from the truth. Only one day, did they bring around skewers of fresh melon, which I cannot eat. The Four Seasons Wailea, brings their guests fresh snacks, ice cream and etc, about every hour while you are hanging out poolside. The only thing St. Regis provided were complimentary ice buckets filled with bottles of water which was needed and very much appreciated. During our stay, we stopped by the spa and had a wonderful couples massage from Diana and Taymi. Their usher Neidit was also very nice and helpful with the lockers. While we had a wonderful and relaxing stay, it would have been nice if they had a lounge area to hangout or something to do on property. They do have several bars you can enjoy and we did enjoy hanging out with the guys in the lobby bar. The entire staff and the drivers were top notch and very professional. Thank you Alejandro for trying to find Luna (the resort cat) for us!

Gorgeous, Gracious, Delicious, Perfectly Maintained Beautiful "Casita" in the most gorgeous beach (literally a few steps from the waves) in the area-service second to none! This tops every relaxing trip I have ever had-even better than Bora Bora. With a maximum of 8 beautifully appointed and sparkling clean rooms (16 guests) you will be outnumbered by staff (but never see them unless you need something they appear like magic) and will enjoy the quiet all adult environment. Yes it is all ADULT with no children which please make note of! If you don't have children or need a break from yours it is magically quiet with the exception of margarita glasses toasting and waves crashing. Even though it is "small" it is like staying at a magic castle with every detail in place including the swim up bar, tequila bar, and many different types of pool seating and cabanas. There is a library with games and tons of reading material in case you need some entertainment while you are there. This is perfect place to do nothing or enjoy the areas fine fishing/zip-lining/horses/sight seeing/golf. Literally the beach door pours you out onto perfect sand a "clean" beach and the surf is right there! Bathrooms/showers right as you return to clean up is perfectly planned out. The drinks are primo and strong, wine top notch, 3 meals a day were different and absolutely delicious everyday, the mini bar/snacks are stocked in the room, Gonzalo the chef and his helper's cuisine were so amazing we ate out once and never went out again. Each meal will be served (unless you want otherwise) sitting on the deck over looking the ocean and gorgeous sunsets. Did I mention this is an all inclusive resort ? Yes all inclusive meaning no signing, wondering how much to budget each day, tipping, pushing servers, or any worries till the end when you pay your balance and generously (because they deserve it!!!) tip the staff to the owner/manager so no awkwardness. If you have ever been at another all inclusive or cruise you will know what I am talking about. The water is purified meaning we brushed our teeth, bathed, and ate every last delish vegetable (raw) and not one person in our party ever felt anything but perfect. The grounds are beautifully maintained-I think there is a person who just goes around perfectly trimming leaves everyday! They can arrange for on-site facial/massage or truly anything else you wish. They packed up a lunch/drinks/goodies for a day of fishing and were extremely accommodating. One of my favorite parts is the three perfectly maintained, groomed, behaved, delightful small pups they have on the property. Besides their sweetness you would not even know they were there unless you seek them out! Mark the owner is top notch and has mastered the art of the perfect place to vacation! I know I am going to miss someone (sorry we loved you all) but Robert, Mauricio, Francisco, Charlie, David, (another fabulous server in the afternoon/evening who knew my Rose Vino Preference), and all of the fabulous maintenance/cleaning/kitchen crew were like family-we miss you and can't wait to return!

We were warmly welcomed by Jeremi, who took us in a golf cart from the reception area to the beach club. That's where we met Pete and his staff, who made us delectable drinks and eats to enjoy all afternoon long. We took turns getting pampered with some outdoor spa services and taking in one of the most scenic and beautiful beach spots in super comfortable day beds. Our transfer dropped us off at the entrance to the resort where we were greeted by an employee who led us to the check-in desk and informed us that our bags would be sent to our room. Initially, the employee behind the desk was proceeding to book us into a room on the first floor. My wife is not a fan of the noise that generally accompanies being on the first floor, so she mentioned this to the employee who swiftly booked us a room on the second floor. The resort itself is beautiful, very spacious and has tons of seating through out. Whether you want to be in the party area of the resort or prefer a secluded area where you can relax and read a good book, there are plenty of options. For breakfast and lunch we enjoyed the myriad of food options available at the buffet; fortunately, I scored some very delicious ribs at the lunch buffet on one of the days. Unfortunately, the quantity of food options did not equate to quality and was quite inconsistent on a day to day basis. We dined at both the Mexican restaurant and steakhouse, which were both underwhelming (not sure how Mexican food in Mexico can be bad). If none of these options float your boat, there is also an Italian restaurant and hibachi. Although the lackluster food quality made it easy not to overindulge; to ensure that we weren't unrecognizable after the trip, we consistently utilized the fitness center. There were machines, free weights, and cardio equipment available to get a comprehensive workout in. If you're into spa treatments, there is a spa next door where you can pay for massages and other services. The overall customer service experience was good. However, I have to call-out and give extra kudos to one particular employee....Mayra from the Adelita Lobby Bar (one of our favorite places on the resort to enjoy a drink). From day one Mayra was very attentive and did a great job of checking in with us without hovering. One specific moment stood out to both my wife and I. Mayra overheard that we were celebrating my wife's birthday. Next thing we know, Mayra emerged from the bar area with a cute sized piece of cake with a candle and a mini balloon with a "J" on it (my wife's name is Janee). Mayra went above and beyond the call of duty to not only do this, but also memorized both of our names (which is not easy considering that we do not have traditional names). As long as we have our memories intact, we will never forget the bond that we built with Mayra. Adrian (another employee that generally works at the Adelita Lobby bar), not only makes great drinks (you can see the attention to detail that he puts towards making a drink), but is also very personable. I love when individuals take pride in their work while simultaneously being professional. Our favorite bars on the resort, were the Adelita Lobby Bar, the Sunset Bar (literally the best spot to watch the beautiful sunsets), and the La Duna bar. I would strongly recommend avoiding the swim-up bar, which serves consistently bad drinks (very unfortunate considering how convenient it is). If you're looking for a place to truly relax (if that's your goal), I recommend visiting Iberostar Playa Mita. However, I'm giving the resort three stars because management is adament about pushing a "90 minute presentation" that we declined at least four times because it felt predatory and manipulative (maybe they thought we were too inebriated to realize this).
