Imagine my delight when this plus soggy french fries arrived. A bbq place should be embarrassed to serve this. I got food here once before and it was solid. But this was almost inedible. What happened??

I wish I could give 0 stars. I ordered two (1 meat two sides combo). Each combo had the sides of Mac & cheese and French fries. Granted we did order on uber eats but we placed an order at 6:30pm and it got to our place at 8:00 pm. (We live 10 minutes away). When we opened the bag, we immediately realized they only gave us Mac and cheese for our sides. So we were missing two side orders of French fries. I opened the pulled pork and it was literally a few pieces very skimpy. The bread was also stale. My boyfriend opened his container and there was only 4 wings. The Mac and cheese tasted like Kraft Mac and cheese. We called the place and the manager said there is nothing he can do (we have to put in a ticket with Uber eats). But Uber eats has nothing to do with your food be terrible! For the amount of time we waited and the price (35 dollars) this place is not worth it.

    RAW!!! Chicken breast

Avoid this place!!! I ordered the 1 meat two sides combo and the bbq chicken breast had a completely raw piece of chicken mixed in. Unfortunately I took a bite of another piece before realizing there was a RAW piece of chicken mixed in. Legal action will be taken if I get salmonella poisoning. This place seems to have the same operating address as Old Town Pour House and similar menu items. Wonder if there's any relation.

If we could give zero stars I would. I ordered pulled pork with 2 sides. I received Container full of fatty greasy meat and two containers one kind of full and the other not even half full of wilted coleslaw. I would not be this food to a homeless animal!

    1/2 rack

This was by far one of the worst bbq experiences I have ever tried. For one, no brisket. Automatically a star deduction The ribs - up until this point. No matter how sub par The ribs I have ever tried have been, I have literally never failed to finish them up until now. I can say with confidence these were without a doubt the worst ribs I have ever had ANYWHERE let alone a dedicated bbq place. To say it was undercooked would be an understatement. Every single inch of fat chewed like it didn't get even a single iota of smoke. It literally tasted like someone who has never had to cook ribs before just threw in into the oven and took it out once they saw char marks. It is as tough as an over cooked flank and impossible to pull apart. It's clear they ARE NOT smoking their meats. Or atleast have no clue what they are doing Pulled pork - bland and not a HINT of smoke. Tasted like they were cooked in a crock pot and was dry. At least edible. The fat content was cooked to point of melting. Still mediocre at best. Again. I'm not convinced they are even using a smoker. Mac and cheese - generic and cheap. You actually can get a more diffinitive bbq experince at a local Quincy's bar and grille compared to this place. I actually think they don't have a smoker and if they do, no one showed them how to use it.

    Supposed BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad

I just bought a BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad and Ribs in an order from delivery and my the salad was missing the most important part, the BBQ chicken and onion straws. It's a bed of lettuce and sauce. Never ordering here again.

This is the salad I received. Pitiful.

We went here recently & were very happy with the experience…read more The biggest plus for us is they have excellent fried chicken. It's crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. An order includes 2 pieces, each of them a breast & sort of a small leg attached (yes, that sounds weird but it's the best description I can come up with). An order comes with mashed potatoes & gravy on the side + collard greens. We each took one piece of chicken home for a second meal. On the down side, we weren't keen on the fried green tomato appetizer. It consisted mostly of heavy breading. Next time we're going to try the catfish fingers instead.

While our server was great and very attentive, unfortunately, the food left a lot to be desired. For the evening we tried the Devil Shrimp which is crab stuffed shrimp that came with spinach and mac & cheese. While the stuffed shrimp were delicious the mac and cheese not so much. I hate to say this but it was a step up from box Kraft mac & cheese. The Grilled lamb chops were served with roasted fingerling potatoes and sauteed green beans. While the lamb chops were plentiful and we appreciated that, again the sides that accompanied the dish lacked flavor. To be an upscale Southern cuisine restaurant they missed the mark on some of the staples sides and that was a little disheartening.

I have to say the food, the Staff and the establishment has been my best taste of southern cooking in the DMV area. I ordered chicken wings (6) to go for wife & I to enjoy later. The fish (catfish and croaker) always tastes like it's been fried in grease that needs changing. There's no flavor profile in the food which is weird for a soul-food restaurant. The mixed veggies were absolutely disgusting-- gave them back. I paid $65 for fried catfish with two sides, fried croaker with two sides, a cookie and two drinks---and sadly, the only thing that was sort of worth it was the cornbread, but it tastes like it has coconut in it. I hate coconut. The item that was the most flavorful for me was the black eyed peas/hoppin John (minus the big pieces of fatty meat in them).

Theres plenty of parking and they have a small area for outside seating. As you walked in, there's plenty of seating, they have an open kitchen concept, a side room for special events or meetings (25 people capacity) but it's their mission that caught my interest as cashier/ hostess Lexi explains to me. This company spreads and provides charity catering throughout the community with multiple outlets. Lexi was very patient as she explains how the menu works. I ordered 3 items: 1) Loaded baked potato 2) Fried fish 3) Chicken and waffles. I just wanted to taste the baked potato without any protein on top. I don't know what it was that had an off taste, maybe the butter. The potato itself was soft topped with cheese, green onions and a little bland. The chicken and waffle were tasty. The fried chicken wasn't as crispy as I would like it but it was well seasoned and the waffle was soft. There are so many options for your sides. So for the fried fish, the appearance looks delicious but it was very thin and dry. Even with the tartar sauce it was still dry. I was really looking forward to it. The sides I selected were fries and hope cakes (which are sweet corn bread). Their beverages are on point, I got their lemonade and sweet tea. Lexi was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is only opened on Fridays-Sundays for regular business but since they do multiple catering events, they are open 7 days a week. They also offer Sunday brunch between the hours of 9a-3p which the entire dining room is open with mocktail and coffee station. There isn't a buffet during the brunch but a la carte off the menu. I would make a return visit to try their brunch menu in the near future.
