Lovely, clean, well-run spa in Palmdale. Particularly impressive aestheticians: I've had appointments with Kathy & Becky. The Age-Defying facial with micro dermabrasion was excellent. My skin is clear & glowing. I'm a frequent spa-goer & enjoy a monthly facial. These professionals are terrific -- pleasant, expert at what they do & seem to really enjoy working here. There are discount days for certain treatments -- such as "Waxing Wednesdays" & "Facial Fridays" -- so be sure to ask the scheduler about those options. read more

I went here with a friend for a ($40!) pedicure. She had a gift card (yay!), I did not (booo!). The building itself is quiet and well decorated. The reception staff is friendly and polite. They took me back to a little waiting room, where I could wait until our room was ready. It would have been peaceful if I had been alone. Instead it was eerily quiet and awkward, since there were two strangers in there and the room was VERY small. There was a small tray offering cookies and tea. The tea was cold. The cookies were a tad stale. The cookies didn't really fit in with the spa theme... they should offer fresh fruit, maybe. Anyway, I waited there until my friend arrived and we were taken into the treatment room. In theory, the room was cool. It was set up like a cabana, with a large umbrella and wicker recliners which were pretty comfy. The room was small and dark, though, and the umbrella seemed like overkill. When we got into the room we were informed that the other pedicure person was not in today, so we only had one and that the receptionist (who admitted to having no training) was going to fill in. This right here should have been a red flag. The room was so small and so quiet that it made chatting with my friend kind of awkward. It was impossible to even pretend we were having a private conversation. The not-a-real-esthetician awkwardly massaged my feet and legs and after about 15 minutes she left so the other woman could do our nails. Am I wrong in assuming this should have gotten me SOME kind of discount? She had no training (which might actually be illegal). Alas, no, it did not and the services were NOT worth $40 plus tip. However, I would go back, just not for the pedicure service. The place seemed nice overall and clean. My Massage Envy membership just ended so I wanted to give this place a try. I booked an appointment for 2:45 and they called me later in the day to see if I wanted the 1:45 spot due to cancellations. I arrived on-time (a little early just in case I needed to fill out paper work) turns out I had to wait 30 minutes before my massage even began. I've NEVER had to wait that long anywhere else, especially when they called me in earlier!! I'd rather spend my $100+ at spa who respects my time!!! read more

I have been having back pain for while now being 6 months pregnant. Beautiful building nice staff horrible therapist asked for a bit more pressure multiple times and nothing. Their was times when I wanted to start laughing because it felt like she was tickling me instead of massaging me. And I will say I've had many massages else where and never have I received a massage with the therapist sitting down until today. Very sad waste of 70$ walked in and out with the same back pain :( read more

What a delightful afternoon I had. The spa is very calming and beautifully decorated! The staff were welcoming. I pampered myself and splurged for a facial, body and foot massage. All were great. I have been going to Second Wind for over 10 years. I LOVE the place. Yes, it is a salon so don't expect a "free deal." All the salon personnel are very friendly, and kind. Sarah is my go to person for massages. I have severe neck and back problems, and she is the only one who has been able to get me almost pain free. Tamami is great for waxing and facials. I have also had facials from Becky and Kathy. They are all very pleasant. I ask for a gift certificate every year for my birthday and Christmas, just so I can pamper myself. Excellent "hot lava" pedicure. Not your typical pedicure setup, much nicer! You recline on a massage table and the specialist wraps your feet. Then they soften your feet and shape your nails. Shiny and long-lasting polish. Best part is the hot stone massage --the only downside was that it was only for a minute or two. The atmosphere is relaxing and not rushed. Will go back! read more

If you are looking for a relaxing experience....Second wind is THE PLACE! I have been going to them for a couple years now. The atmosphere and staff make you feel so relaxed. It is kept up very clean and decorated to have a warm feeling. I have recently been to a couple large hotel spas that charge double what Second Wind charges and the experience does not even compare! I will continue to recommend them to anyone who asks. I get the 90 minute massage and WOW...it is my favorite every time. The fees are reasonable too. I just moved to the area and was looking for a last minute massage for my boyfriend and myself. They were able to squeeze us in that day which was a bonus, but we did have to wait about 45 minutes once we got there because they were running behind. I enjoyed my massage and felt great after, but my boyfriend was looking for more of a deep tissue massage and didn't really get that even though it was requested. The prices are pretty reasonable and it is a very nice atmosphere with friendly staff. There are not a lot of choices for a nice day spa in the AV so I would go there again since this is one of the better ones in the area. read more

Looking for the best facial in the Antelope Valley? Last weekend I enjoyed that special reprieve at Second Wind. I made sure to get there early enough to enjoy the relaxation room and some treats for 10 minutes prior to my appointment. Corrine had amazing flow and the Farmhouse Fresh products that she used were delightful. The skin on my face was plump and moist, and even the fine lines under my eyes had disappeared. I couldn't leave without purchasing the chocolate mask she used! Anyway, I'll be sure to re-book in December before our daughter's wedding. It's always been my favorite massage spot, but now I know I need to make facials a part of my routine as well. read more

I really enjoyed my massage at Second Wind. I waited in the relaxation room which was really comfortable and was offered cucumber water and there were snacks. I wasn't in there for too long before Noelle came to take me back to my room. I told her where my tense areas were and she spent a good amount of time on those places and eased up where I needed her too. I really enjoy getting a massage but I am always worried that I am going to be sore in the morning but I woke up the next day feeling relaxed and reenergized. This place is AMAZING!! The receptionist are so helpful and friendly. This starts it off right. The delicious water with lemon is refreshing and sometimes it has strawberries or lime in it. I'm super disappointed in 2nd wind day spa. I called 2 weeks ago to make 2 appointments for a spa pedi for my daughter and I before we go on vacation I spoke to Rachel I made them for tomorrow Monday at 500. I was called this morning by Lisa to confirm my one appointment. I explained I had an appointment for 2 of us. Oops. They only have one person to do spa pedis. I know they don't care at this point because I am using a gift certificate so they have their money. This happened to me several years ago as well as to my co worker. Now they say the next time they can do 2 people is the end of June. Nice. Back to happy nails I go. Maybe I will try again in July. Very disappointed for this last min information.
