Great place to relax, listen to music, and get food if you are visiting the stockyards. They have a large outdoor patio that is mostly covered, which is a lot of fun if it's not too hot. It's open seating so you order your food/drinks at the counter and then get a buzzer so you know when it's ready.

This spot is so much fun! I stopped in for a couple of drinks and some food and had the best time. The vibes are so good! I love how laid back it is. We went on a Thursday night and there was live music and it was pretty crowded! I would definitely go back next time I'm in town.

If these walls could talk, they'd tell you that I'm sorry. If these walls could talk, they'd say I'm not the same.

This is the most welcoming and coolest bar in the world. This massive, high-energy outlaw country space is an amazing, unpretentious venue you must see. The double-story building is a large, open Texas beer hall that blends modern and traditional saloon styles with an intentionally eclectic, whimsical vibe reminiscent of a theme park. For instance, the bathroom doors look like jail cells with hands on the bars, while the pristine stalls feature portraits of Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash. I used the Willie Nelson and was "on the commode again". The centerpiece is a huge, three-sided bar adorned with neon signs, vintage Western memorabilia, industrial brewing equipment, and a massive wall of taps. It serves both classics and ready-to-serve frozen drinks, which you can enjoy in the pet-friendly beer garden backyard party. Order you "two pina coladas and hope they fill 'em to the brim if your world is kind of rocky and you need to learn to swim." (That was Garth Brooks or Maya Angelou). The casual, amphitheater-like patio faces an outdoor stage built into the bed of a vintage truck. The live music (even 12:30pm on a Thursday) is loud enough to be festive but managed so you don't have to scream to be heard. The entire area is covered by a massive glass and steel retractable roof, ensuring comfort in any weather, in case you don't "love a rainy night nor think it's such a beautiful sight, and hate to feel the rain on your face, taste the rain on your lips in the moonlight shadows." (That was Eddie Rabbit or SunTzu). The seating options are excellent and varied. Groups can share high-tops around a gas fire or a lit tree, or even sit in kitschy sawed-off pickup truck beds with bench seating. You can also find lounge chairs near the outdoor fireplace, huge swinging benches, and plenty of folding beach chairs on the astroturf. For dining, you can order affordable bar food from a window and receive a pager, so there is no need to "might as well lay down and nap 'cause you've spent half your life just waiting on a nacho." (That was Brad Paisley or Abraham Lincoln).

Cool little spot while visiting The Stockyards. I always love live music and the selection of music is great. The food outside is mediocre and such a small selection. The outside in the back is so nice

It has been a minute since I've been to a brewery and it was such fun to attend over spring break with my kids. What a beautiful spot, full of kind people and amazing decorations. The drinks were great, the burger was very good and my kids loved the chicken fingers. There were not a lot of cleaner options which would have been nice to have a few wraps or grilled chicken. The kids loved being able to run around, their outside is so great they should consider putting in a small climbing area for the kids. It'll make the parents stay longer aka drinks + food, while the kids have a great time outside. It could be where we sat but the acoustics were really hard to hear the singer who was a sweet older man. The tables also became VERY hot when the sun hit them for too long, so not sure what the solve is but the kids hated sitting because they kept burning their hands.

If you are grabbing a drink that's not their own brewed beer, the ambiance alone is worth a visit. If you are here because you love craft beer, this place fell short. I had the Big Buckle IPA and it was barely drinkable.

We were visiting this area from CA and were told to make sure we stopped here. Wanted to experience the Fort Worth Stockyard. This place was just what we were looking for. Our bartender, Ashlynn, was so welcoming and spent a lot of time telling us the history of the bar and brewery. This place is decorated like an old Western Bar. It was so fun. We stayed there for over an hour and then walked over to the area attached to the bar that had a Country Singer playing. We sat and listened to him until he was done with his set. Really great place. We didn't get to have any food as we had already made reservations elsewhere. Next time , for sure. Thanks again to Ashlynn for being so accommodating.

John R.

The beer? Okay at best. Probably better described as average. Given the location I thought there would be more competition around on that front but there doesn't seem to be. I did not have any food here so I cannot comment on that side of things. The real attraction is just that the place looks amazing and when you are inside the main area it feels almost like you are outside. The stage is the center point and I'm a sucker for a local country singer. On those measurements, this place was amazing.

Tera B.

Second Rodeo was an amazing stop while at the Stockyards. We stopped in for a quick bite and to enjoy a few new brews. Roy was outstanding. He is very knowledgeable and was able to recommend beverages that matched our preferred flavor profiles. When you go, be sure to ask for Roy! We tried the Rolling Amber and Dr. Chilton.

This spot is always a good time! I've been here on a few occasions, most recently to watch the US vs Turkey World Cup game. They're definitely going all out for FIFA in the upstairs area while retaining some of the stockyard vibe downstairs. This was a great spot to watch the game: it was loud, packed with fans, and the bar was fast! They're also offering souvenir cups for many of the drinks which was an added perk and made the experience fun! I've also ordered food here, most recently I had the Siracha wings with fries. They're definitely decent and perfect bar food while you're watching a game. This is also a great spot to catch up with friends or kick back, especially the outdoor patio in the back along the river. That's what's great about Second Rodeo: the vibe can be whatever you want it to be! The drinks are also pretty good as we've tried several of their brews with no complaints. This is definitely a must-do in the stockyards, so don't forget to stop by!

Kara G.

Stopped by as an out of towner during lunch last week. The food is ordered at a window and then you get a pager. Everyone's wings were really tasty. Unfortunately I was in town for work so I didn't get to try the beers. The live entertainment was also great and he was super friendly.

Cindi R.

A great place to have a group work event. Was surprised that they chill their red wine. We had nachos, fries, wings typical bar food. Huge seating area.

Roxanne S.

This place had nice ambience. The place had live music and chill vibes. There was even a table with swing chairs all around it. The musician was good and I appreciated the sound level. It was loud enough to hear and enjoy but wasn't so loud that you are having to scream over the music to be heard. They had a couple different opinions for food with separate lines for the separate places. I decided to go with the chicken wings. It came with French fries which I appreciated. The wings were really good and crispy. A little more expensive than I hoped but nothing too crazy.

The food at this place is simple. You have your choice of chicken wings, Philly cheesesteak, or nachos. Different flavors and variations on those 3 but simple and easy. I got the ribeye philly and it did not disappoint. It's large, flavorful, and comes out hot in less than 5 minutes. I was there with some work colleagues and everybody that ordered something got their food quickly, that's a win. It's all self service too so you go up to the window to order food and same at the bar. Their bartenders were quick, attentive, and friendly. This place brews some of their own beer and has some specialty cocktails. I had the Hefeweizen and the Amber, both were solid beers. I also sampled the blonde but it was my least favorite of the 3. There are plenty of tables, an upstairs area and a covered area that's really large and has a stage for live music. They also have outside seating but it was 109 degrees the day I went and wasn't brave enough to sit out there. This place is fairly priced for the stockyards and has good entertainment value for all. As long as you go into it knowing there's a limited selection for food, then you should have no issues enjoying your experience there. read more

This is the place to be on the weekend! It can get a bit crowded but the patio is awesome and there is also seating inside if it is too hot out. It is a little pricy but it was so much fun! It is HUGE so big groups can all sit together. They also had some solid live music when we were there. There is food and I think ice cream also. This place is so freaking cool! Awesome ambiance. I love the decor, hanging guitars to graffiti art to lights dangling. I did not see if there was a different indoors menu or if everyone orders from the same spot. So in reference to the "outdoor " patio area where live music is played every day, the food options are similar to fast food / bar food. Which is perfect for this location. Could be a perfect friends hang out night, to date night or day time visit! Quite frankly, it's perfect anytime given that live music is played 2 or 3 times a day. Such a spacious place. Staff is so friendly. I cannot wait to come back! read more

This was such a fun discovery on our first trip to Fort Worth. The Folsom prison theme is awesome. There is so much detail in their decor - we kept finding new things everywhere we looked. The building itself is amazing with a great layout, and we love that they had live music. There is a Truck Yard in Houston, but it doesn't even begin to compare to this one. We definitely recommend this place and will drop-by if we're in the area again. read more

It's a very lovely place. Inside and out! We hungout on the patio, on a beautiful day with my furbaby. Yes dogs are welcome. It's a big seating area with a stage for a live band to play. Next time hopefully someone will be playing. Big variety of alcohol and the food selection isn't the best. We try there nachos they were ok. The wings didn't look that mouth watering so maybe next time I'll have to try them and see. Parking isn't the best so I recommend to try this place during the week and not the weekend! read more

I'm not in the Stockyards often enough, but the last two time we've dropped in here. It can be crowded on weekends. There's an inside bar area, an atrium and a patio area that borders a gulch that has been converted into a scenic walking area. You'd never know it's there if you walk down Exchange. It was hot out, but they had evaporative coolers in the atrium making it pleasant. There was a guitarist who was good, not overly loud, playing more blues than country. Barkeeps we're friendly and there are good mixed drinks and lots of brewed suds. We usually dine elsewhere but they have wings and other pub foods. read more

I'm a big Truck Yard fan and this spot is by the same people! Tucked away on Mule Alley in The Stockyards, you'll find an indoor/outdoor spot where you can get an assortment of drinks and a few food options (nachos, wings, and phillies!). Specialty cocktails are on tap or bottled. I opted for the marg + philly with everything on it. Just like Truck Yard, this was a great causal option after window shopping in Fort Worth. Can't wait to stop by for more live music in the future! read more

Extremely disappointing. I love checking out different breweries ordering a flight of different beers sitting with friends and relaxing Let's start with there is no direction except find your own seat. Not a big deal you would think except we didn't have a license plate on the table that gives you some vague idea that there are no servers. Every time you want something you have to go to the bar and order and hopefully it isn't crowded. Want food go outside stand in line to order less than average food. You received a buzzer to return stand in line to pick up your food. It was underwhelming don't feel the need to ever go back. To many other great places to go. read more

In a word...AMAZING! My husband's company Christmas party was here last night. The food provided...so good, the cocktails and beers...perfect and the entertainment and venue itself...I mean...WOW! There are 3 areas to chillin. Upstairs, downstairs front and downstairs back. All different and each have bars. All their bases are covered. The food is ordered at the windows like eating at a food truck and your seats vary from benches, high top bar sets or the bed of an old Ford truck! Very cool setting and I highly recommend on a night out! We plan on going back on date nights. Order the nachos! read more

Talk about a great place to meet with friends and have a great time! I anxiously awaited the opening of this FW Stockyards brewery and boy they did not disappoint. This funky Cowtown establishment has it all. From the delicious German style beers to the bottled mixed drinks, you won't be disappointed by the array of choices. The food menu is somewhat limited but who cares? Sit down in a lawn chair or a converted pick up truck bed table and soak in the atmosphere. And talk about friendly service. The barkeeps were knowledgeable about the drinks and were happy to give you a sample of their beers made on site. Checking out a tab was quick and simple at any of the bars. Loved the atmosphere and the live music; however I was extremely disappointed when I went to get a drink and they told me they were no longer aloud to make ranch waters due to the "vision". I was told I could have tonic water and tequila, but they were not aloud to use the lime/ lime juice! I was then offered a drink on tap, but unfortunately it tasted like a watered down limeade. Not sure what "vision" eliminates lime juice in TEXAS, but it ruined the potential for an awesome experience. Thankfully next door at Paloma Suerte you can get an amazing ranch water! read more

So, let me start by saying that the atmosphere is cool. The outdoor patio is awesome. However, I'd say that's where the good times stop. We ordered a Frose, and 2 house IPAs. The frose was overly sweet, and the IPAs were terrible. I hate to say that, but they were overly bitter, with a one-dimensional crystal malt flavor. It's borderline brown in color. And the hops are lacking in aroma and flavor. It's almost dirty tasting. Then on to the food. We ordered 3 sets of wings. PB&J, pineapple Sriacha, and dry wings with a side of black garlic bbq and mojo. We got 4 sets of wings, which seemed to be a great bonus. Not so. The PB&J were mixed with mojo. Like they accidentally did mojo, then tried to cover it up. And it was disgusting. We did get a side of the PB&J, and I couldn't taste anything but peanut butter. No bacon, no jalapeño. The mojo was straight up cilantro. But the bitter side of the cilantro. That's all I could taste. They didn't bother to tell us they were out of the Black Garlic BBQ, so we didn't get that. But then we got the Buffalo and Pineapple Sriracha. Not what we ordered at all. And all of them were not good. The Pineapple Sriracha was basically canned chunked pineapple. The Buffalo was actually really good. Best thing we ordered. We also got a Philly cheesesteak. The mix and seasoning was great. Awesome flavor. But once you take a bite, all you get is bread. Can't really taste anything else. All in all, not impressed. Hope the feedback is helpful. read more

The large double doors open up to a covered outdoor space with a fountain in the center. There is shade thanks to trees and umbrellas so this is a nice place to have brunch at. Inside, there were several long communal tables that seemed perfect for events and larger groups. I was also impressed by their events calendar and even spotted an upcoming event I'm planning to attend, which makes me excited to come back. On this visit, I tried a glass of wine and the giant pretzel. The pretzel was fresh, soft, and paired nicely with the wine. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the cheese dip. It wasn't bad, but I personally think a simpler cheese sauce would be better. I liked that there was a separate coffee shop area. It's a great option for anyone who wants to enjoy the space without drinking alcohol, making it feel welcoming to a wider variety of guests. Ps. You order at the counter, you get a number to take to your seat(s), then servers bring you your food. You pick your own table, either indoor or outdoor. Our group of 9 ordered at around same time with 2 cashiers. Our food came very sporadically, one of us didn't get her salad & dish 30+ minutes AFTER everyone else started eating. We got the pizza we were sharing within 20 minutes after we sat down, BUT our salad didn't come until 45 minutes AFTER THE PIZZA! Now the food... Maple jalapeños bacon pizza was so good, with a kick. Prosciutto goat cheese pizza was ok, not enough flavor. Warm pretzel was soft & melted in the mouth, but the cheese dip had a bitter aftertaste. Cesar salad was loaded with croutons & Parmesan shavings. I personally loved a lot of Parmesan shavings, but could use a bit more lettuce & a little less croutons. The fries are good, nice & crispy. PORTIONS ARE PRETTY GENEROUS, you can definitely share a pizza & a salad with 1-2 other(s) depending on how hungry you are. 3 stars because disorganized servers & food is hit or miss.

They probably had 25 (complete guess off of memory) beers on tap with a few of them being seltzers. They have really good IPA's, PHENOMENAL dessert stouts, and fun beers of other styles. Martin House was so good, I went back for a second flight plus bought a bunch of canned beers to take home. They had a Smores Stout (delicious), Texas Sheet Cake Stout (equally delicious), a Pumpkin Cheesecake Stout (not for me but interesting), and a King of the Mountain Porter (chocolately). I have never had 4 porters/stouts in the same sitting, but MH makes such good ones that I had to. Their IPA's were solid with the Invaders being my favorite. The Wicked Wolf blonde Ale made with peanut butter, and I think marshmallow fluff was probably my favorite beer amongst the 8 I tried. Phenomenally good. The craziest beer I tried was the Best Maid Mustard Relish. It's exactly what you think it would be but not as bad. They should make it in shot form though because anything more is too much. Dog friendly, and they have several different types of seating arrangements so you can best fit your party whatever the size/vibe. If there is any down side I can think of, it is that the bathrooms are in a really wacky spot where you feel like you're kind of walking in front of everyone announcing "Hey everybody! I gotta pee!" so for any of my friends out there who may struggle with social anxiety...keep that one in mind! I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent experience at your establishment. I have been a loyal customer for over a year, visiting every weekend. However, during my last visit, I was denied entry due to my ID "not looking like me." I am of legal drinking age and have recently highlighted my hair, which may have caused the discrepancy. This made me feel belittled and embarrassed, especially since Second Rodeo Brewing is my favorite bar. As a result, I no longer feel comfortable or welcomed at your establishment. I had to Uber home alone, which is not ideal for me as a young woman. I understand the need to verify identification, but I believe this could have been handled more respectfully. I hope you can address this issue to prevent similar incidents in the future. read more

Really love the atmosphere and the ambiance is great. I as well love the live music. However for a place of this caliber in aesthetics; I was highly disappointed in the food. It was very lacking in both taste and options. It would be a much better venue if along with the great, scene, live music, and beer there was waaaaaaay more options of food to eat. I wanted to plan a night out there for a celebration/ birthday but I specifically chose not to because theres only like 2 options for what to eat there for my guests and those options are only a 6/10 taste IMHO. Other than that the place is amazing. Good customer service. read more

For the main course, we ordered a rack of pork ribs to share. When they were served, I was quite stunned as to how they looked. One word, MAGICAL! The outer bark was beautiful, the texture perfect. We could not wait to dig into the ribs. And just as amazing, the flavor did not disappoint. The ribs were tender, fall off the bone, packed with smoke flavor and there must be a secret rub put on these prior to smoking them. Now I'm a big griller and have an indirect smoker plumbed into my Weber Summit nat gas grill so I can generate a lot of smoke for many hours for sure. I'm here to tell you, as a griller who is a connoisseur of great smoked and seared steaks, and fabulous "low and slow" baby back ribs which are rubbed and marinated for 48 hours, these Woodshed Smokehouse ribs, were and it's hard for me to say this, actually better than mine. Now that says a lot, end of story, period! If you haven't had these ribs, go for it and share them with your friends or family or someone special. You won't regret it! The sides we ordered were excellent, perfectly cooked with great grilled smoke flavor. Service was superb, very friendly and prompt. And to make this a special occasion, I had asked if I could get a tour of the smokehouse. Well Mr. Bobby the manager came over and personally escorted me through the smokehouse and showed me each of the smokers, types of wood and I can only say, "Well no wonder it tastes so darn good". Mr. Bobby was very kind and generous with his time and Mr. Tim Love's establishment. I of course complimented the Pitmasters (I caught both as it was shift change). Now to add to this review of the Woodshed Smokehouse, they use particular wood for ribs, for brisket, for lamb, etc. I won't give away the trade secret but suffice to say it's like matching a fine wine to particularly food. Each wood imparts a complimentary taste to each type of food. Bottom line, they know what they are doing and do it extremely well. My wife agrees totally and also that the Woodshed Smokehouse may actually smoke ribs a wee bit better than mine!! Great work and compliments to all at the Woodshed Smokehouse. There are plenty of interesting options, making it easy for everyone in the group to find something appealing. We started with the Giant Pretzel and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and both were excellent. The pretzel was warm and flavorful, while the Brussels sprouts were crispy and well-seasoned. These appetizers ended up being some of the highlights of the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the pork ribs. The portion size was just right, leaving me satisfied without feeling overly full. The ribs were enjoyable, but they didn't quite measure up to what you'd find at a dedicated Texas barbecue joint. They were good, just not particularly memorable for a region known for exceptional barbecue. One of the restaurant's biggest strengths is its location. Situated right along the river and close to other shops and attractions, it's a great place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The outdoor setting and overall vibe create a fun, lively experience that encourages you to linger a little longer. Overall, The Woodshed Smokehouse is a fun destination with a fantastic location and a unique menu. While the food was solid, the restaurant's atmosphere and setting are what truly stand out.
