Ok...this place is vastly underrated (and overlooked?) by the "hype" machine across the street with lots of Xmas decorations. If you know you know... The inside has 2 seating areas, but both are connected to the bar. 1 side has couches and various cushioned seats and the other side is more wide open with bench seats and is excellent for larger groups. The bartenders are super friendly and will help you find the craft beer you are looking for...and for those of us craft beer nerds, well, you probably know what this place is and will enjoy the offerings--as well as the back cellar with various to-go bottles for purchase. Came in on a Saturday around opening time, we got to hang out with Ryan I believe his name was. He was super knowledgeable and a really friendly guy. We didn't try their pizza because we had just ate, but the beers on top were delightful! I tried some bangers from Martin House and they also had a non alcoholic beer and a sugar free THC drink on tap for those who don't drink. Some free parking along the streets along with paid parking lots. I can always find free parking along W Broadway Ave; not a bad walk. As you enter, there's lots of tables and chairs with a walk up bar area. I always head to the right and sit at the bar or in one of the comfy chairs near the windows. So happy I stumbled across this place!! I found Southside Cellar on a Thursday afternoon while in town for work. Beer selection is awesome, not so big that you can't decide. Lots of local breweries. Bartender Mary was so friendly, made excellent recommendations, remembered my name (!!!) and introduced me to the owner of a bodega nearby for dessert. The food was awesome, too. Again, the menu isn't massive, but the pepperoni pizza and balsamic Brussels sprouts were AWESOME. 15/10 would recommend and come here again!! read more

We love the laidback vibe of this place. We walk over fairly often for a libation or two and like the updates that include more intimate seating areas in the space that was a store. After walking past the Southside Cellar dozens of times, wondering what lurked behind those finely-draped windows, we finally checked it out just after our quick morning at ArtsGoggle. A beer lounge! And a splendid one at that. To your left, will be the to-go area where you can grab beer from a fridge or from the shelf. To your right is the lounge/cellar/taproom area where you'll find a welcoming bar with plenty of comfy seating options. With 30 beers on tap I think they have something for everyone and we found the staff to be friendly and very knowledgeable (as you would expect) on beer choices and they gave us some great recommendations. Beers in hand, we found some highback chairs near the window to sit back and relax. The place reminds me off Pop's Safari Club (sans smoke of course) back when we used to go there, before W 7th got all crazy. It's nice to have a lounge like this - not a whole lot of hustle and bustle, just the beer in front of you and the conversation you're having. Given that they fill growlers as well, I am sure this will be a popular spot with the locals. After our visit, we do plan to make more time to stop in at Southside, you should too. read more

Southside Cellar is a top beer bar in Fort Worth, bringing together the best of Texas craft brews and wines, a finely curated bottle shop, and a speakeasy lounge vibe that we felt like we could have hung out in for hours. Tyler the bartender greeted us when we entered, offering beer samples as we sought our selections. I tried a sweet stout that was delicious and she had a holiday spiced sour from Prairie in Oklahoma called Seasick Crocodile that she enjoyed. Great brew discovery is my favorite aspect of a good beer bar. We were headed to a cocktail bar after this so we stopped at one, taking our time doing so. The room is not large, but provides several seating spaces for couples or groups. There is separation provided between the seating areas, which effectually reduces the utility of it. But, we had no trouble finding a cozy spot to chill. Plenty of bar seating is available as well. Tyler is a fun local Fort Worth guy to talk with who is very knowledgeable about the beers. We enjoyed looking through the selection of beers on the retail side of the room as well. There's also a low-lit "cellar" room with wines and rarer beers. We've already returned to Southside Cellar a second time to bring some friends and look forward to making this one of our regular spots! read more

Wanted to grab a cold beer with friends and suggested this establishment. It's been a while since my last visit when I picked up a six pack of my favorite Celestial Beerworks libation, so I was a little disappointed that the to-go beer stock had been taken over with additional seating options for the taproom. But at the same time, I was excited at the prospect of bringing a larger group of friends for my next visit. The folks at SC are very customer oriented and super friendly. You'll be surprised by their selection of both local and national brews in the taproom--so many great choices!
