I called late at night about my dryer. They sent someone out the very next day. Would have been early but I had plans and they were able to work around my schedule. : The process was quick and effective. Cost seemed fair to fix our VERY broken dryer. Much better than having to replace it new or get a second hand one on marketplace or something. It's been over a week and everything is still in top notch shape. Very friendly, Good people that remind you there are solid, reliable services out there that won't let you down. 10/10, will use them again read more

Frank did a great job fixing our dishwasher and icemaker. Second Life was very quick with ordering parts and getting the problem resolved.

I reached out to this company through Yelp after the timer/control knob on my Maytag gas dryer broke. I had already diagnosed the issue and ordered the replacement timer assembly myself through Amazon for about $60, so I contacted them specifically to ask what they would charge for installation only. They originally quoted me for both the part and repair, but once I let them know I already had the part, they explained that their minimum service charge would be $189. The price was not negotiable, which I understood, but what really stood out was how quickly they were able to help. They came out the same day within about three hours and completed the repair in roughly one hour. The technician was professional, efficient, and got the dryer working again without any issues. Customer service was also excellent from start to finish -- clear communication, quick scheduling, and no runaround. While the minimum charge may feel a little high if you already have the part, the speed, convenience, and quality of service made the experience worth it. They also offer several customer discounts, which is a nice bonus. Overall, I had a very positive experience and would recommend them, especially if you need fast, reliable appliance repair. read more

I want to strongly caution anyone considering doing business with this company. They significantly overcharged us for a replacement part on our 15-year-old Fisher & Paykel refrigerator. Due to a misunderstanding between my husband and me, he thought I had not hired them and that their price was too high, so he called another company for a second opinion. That decision turned out to be critical. The second technician showed us clear evidence that the original company had removed and kept the fan from our refrigerator without authorization. This is not just poor service--it is deceptive, unethical, and unacceptable behavior. Please be extremely careful and consider other reputable companies before allowing them into your home or trusting them with your appliances. read more

My double wall ovens stopped working, and I chose Second Life Appliance Repair because of their good Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake. The technician came out fairly quickly, but it seemed like he couldn't determine what was actually wrong with the ovens. He told me the issue was the oven locks and that the part would need to be ordered. I paid for the part upfront. After waiting an entire month, I still hadn't heard anything from the technician. I called the company several times over the following weeks and kept getting the runaround. Eventually, I was told that they had actually received the part a long time ago but had misplaced it. When the technician finally came back out, he installed/checked the part--and, guess what? That wasn't the problem. He then told me that I should just buy a new stove. At that point, I asked for a refund for the part I had paid for but didn't need. The technician actually seemed surprised that I wanted my money back. I was told the refund would take about 5 business days. That was weeks ago, and I've been ghosted ever since. No refund, no follow-up, and no response. I gave this company the benefit of the doubt because of the reviews, but my experience was extremely frustrating from start to finish. Save yourself the time, money, and headache and choose another appliance repair company. read more

Thank you for helping me install my Oven. You guys are great. appreciate the service.

Second Life Solutions handled my dryer repair with professionalism and care. I reached out via yelp and they were quick to respond with a quote and able to come out the next day to repair. My situation was complex as I had suspected and they needed to order parts. There was good communication between Second Life tech and staff and myself. My solution wasn't cheap, but definitely cheaper than a brand new dryer. read more

Great Service & Professional Work! I had an excellent experience with Second Life Appliance Repair. They fixed my portable dishwasher, which required a special part to be ordered. Second Life - Receipt - Appliances & Repair Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Unskilled and unethical We feel ripped off. We called for service and they did show up on time. That is the end of nice things to say. The service person arrived, told us we needed a new sensor and a new fan to fix our refrigerator. Two days later he was unable to install the parts because he ordered the wrong parts. said it would be 4 to 5 days before he would return. He could have said something about the inconvenience but he didn't. It was like he had nothing to do with attempting to install the wrong parts. He showed up 4 days later, installed the parts and the error message was gone for an hour. I could do that by unplugging and plugging it back in. We contacted the company both by email and calling the phone number telling them the repair did not work. Both people said we would hear from them soon but no one called. Now it is 4 days later. We had asked him as he was leaving the second time what if it did not work. He said there was a 3 month warranty and added if it does not work he could try to replace the motherboard. We do not have any confidence that another repair would have worked considering he thought it was the fan and sensor. Another repair would have taken us to close to half of the price to buy a new fridge. Looking at the response from another 1 star review from a few months ago, the owner said it was their policy to leave the old parts here. It did not happen there apparently and certainly did not happen here. I did not watch his work. Hopefully he installed the parts. I would strongly recommend avoiding this company. You have plenty of other options. read more

I am sharing my experience with this business regarding a repair request for an LG gas dryer. I recommend avoiding this company due to repeated scheduling issues, misleading communication, and a completely inaccurate diagnosis. **Scheduling and Communication:** * **5/16/26:** I submitted a quote request via Yelp and received a quick call back. * **5/19/26:** I scheduled an appointment for the following day between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. * **5/20/26:** Thirty minutes prior to the window, the dispatcher texted to reschedule, claiming the technician had vehicle issues. I rescheduled for 5/23/26 between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. * **5/23/26:** During the morning window, the dispatcher called again, using the exact same vehicle issue excuse, and pushed the appointment to 4:00 PM. However, at 10:15 AM, the technician arrived completely unannounced. I was away from home running errands due to the rescheduled 4:00 PM slot and had to rush back. * Upon arrival, the technician explicitly stated he had not experienced any vehicle issues, indicating the dispatcher had provided false excuses for the delays. **Diagnosis and Outcome:** * During the initial phone estimate, the company heavily emphasized that a faulty control board would significantly increase the repair cost. * When the technician arrived, he conducted a very brief inspection and concluded that the control board needed to be replaced for approximately $500. * I specifically asked if the thermistor or safety thermostats could be the issue. The technician claimed he had checked them and they were fine. However, he never removed the dryer drum, which is required to access and test those specific components on this model. * Skeptical of the diagnosis, I declined the $500 repair and paid only the diagnostic fee. **Conclusion:** On 5/30/26, after researching the issue myself, I tested the components. The control board was perfectly fine. The actual issue was a faulty high-limit thermostat. I ordered the part online for $15, replaced it myself, and the dryer now functions perfectly. This company misdiagnosed a $15 part as a $500 control board replacement after repeatedly missing scheduled time slots. Take your business elsewhere to save your time and money. read more

Excellent service. On time. Kind and respectful. Fixed dishwasher easily and adjusted all the settings to keep things going well! Excellent value. $167 total. Better than a new dishwasher. read more

Technician promptly showed up at the appointed time. First off he was from another country so communicating was very difficult. He had a difficult time understanding what the problem was eith the ice Maker. Never checked the electrical etc.. Some it up by saying i needed a new unit at a cost of $380.00. He was at our house about 30 minutes. The service very poor at a cost $61.00. A total rip off and not recommended. read more

These guys stay true to their word! Quickly responded to my quote request. Tech Daniel arrive within the time window. Respected the home by using shoe covers. So far so good. Very impressive. Asher came and let me know when he was coming in advance. He analyzed not only the problem but possible symptoms with the freezer. Defroster. Turned out that he found the root cause and Made plans to replace the ice maker motor for the ice dispenser. I have worked with a lot of appliance companies over the years having had rental properties. Asher has a different approach. Even though there's no bargain basement pricing, the service is very professional and Asher is courteous and responsive. I will update this review once the new part gets in and installed read more

They came in to check for my refrigerator for $99. Diagnoses fee. Then i got an invoice it has a very high cost $2000 repair fee without any reason of the issue and the approach of the repair, not break down, etc. Not professional. I was not on site when they come in. So we open the door for their tech to come in to check. So i didn't get chance to has any diagnostics results in-person neither. Other ac company came in do the same diagnoses and tell me we need to fill more Freon and cost of the freon and labor in their invoice, which make this company surprisingly unprofessional. read more

Asher was great from beginning to end! He got to my place right on time (a few minutes early even) which is unheard of when you're given a time window of 2 hours - I wasn't waiting around all day and I appreciated that! Then he diagnosed what was wrong with my dishwasher and let me know the pricing to fix the issue with a replacement vs what installation of a new machine would be, so I could think through what I wanted to do. I decided to move forward with a repair because the repair part and labor was still more affordable than a new dishwasher. He had the replacement piece in his trunk, took out my dishwasher (which had been put in very "creatively" I will say) and replaced the piece quickly and got everything put back together and back in place. He was friendly, professional, nice the entire time. Thank you Asher and the Second Life company :) this was a BIG stress for me (broke right before July 4th holiday) and to have this fixed over the weekend and quickly and easily was SUCH a weight off my shoulders. 10/10 would recommend to anyone! read more

I have a 5 year old Frigidaire refrigerator, model FRSS2623ASO, making lots of noise periodically so I went on line to Yelp and posted my issue and Second life Appliances responded, we text & they came out next day, technician found the issue and resolved the problem, as far as value I thought the repair was pricey considering it was 2 small electrical problems ( I asked to see parts) technician was polite and professional and careful with my surrounding areas. My Speed Queen washer started leaking. I chose SL since they were local and had a medium price for diagnostics, that was applied toward repair. Andre, service tech, came out on Monday. He was very professional, thorough and explained to me what the issues were. He cleaned up his work area, ordered the parts, said he would contact me when the parts were in. A week later, Sean, office tech called to schedule the repair. The whole project took one week . Andre returned, replaced the parts and went the extra mile and cleaned the area out. He ran a test on the washer, no more leaks. He also checked the dryer and cleaned that out as well. Andre showed me the damaged parts, which impressed me. He was very personable and honest. Overall, Andre and Sean are very polite and accommodating, and I could tell take pride in their work. The repair price was reasonable since I've owned these units for 7 years, and this was the first issue I have had. Thank you Second Life, Sean and Andre.
