I remember visiting Starbucks at Brookfield Place, where I worked. I signed up for Starbucks rewards there. Months later, I ended up changing jobs and working at Yonge and Eglinton. There were plenty of Starbucks locations in the area, so I ended up being a regular Starbucks customer. After all these years, I didn't really have a favourite Starbucks cafe. Sure, I visit my local one a lot out of convenience, but it's not my favourite. I'd say the one closest to my workplace is close to being my favourite because it has a drive-thru and staff are extremely friendly. They like being there and appreciate that I appreciate what they do. My friend, Sandy, and I dropped by this Starbucks cafe in late August before a Yelp event in Oakville. Frankly, my knowledge of the Mississauga-Oakville border is so poor that I thought this cafe was in Oakville. Nope, it's considered Mississauga. I have found my favourite Starbucks cafe. It's this one. This cafe has a drive-thru. It had steady business when we dropped by. We wanted to get drinks, sit down, chat, and kill some time. It's rare that I can't comment on going through a Starbucks drive-thru. It's the case here. I backed into a parking spot fairly close to the main entrance. We got out of my car and entered the cafe. Sandy did a pitstop. I used the washroom before we left. There are two single stalls. The one that I used was clean and roomy. I went to place my order. My favourite drink these days is the cool lime refresher. It was a regular drink on the menu years ago. Starbucks got rid of it. When it returns for a limited time, I pounce on it like a tabby cat. I got the nicest barista. When I ordered this refresher in a grande size, she asked if it was for here or to go. I said the former. She asked if I wanted it in a glass or a cup. A glass?! Super fancy! It was a first for me. I went for the glass. Wow! And, that's why this cafe is my favourite. I have never had any Starbucks cold drink in a glass before. I had my Starbucks barcode on my app scanned to pay for my drink. I like that my name shows up automatically on the label. It didn't take long for my drink to be ready. Yes, I picked up the solid glass containing my cool lime refresher. I sat down with Sandy and her drink. My glass had a sticker with my name and my order on it. Maybe my glass was chilled a bit. I loved my cool lime refresher. It tasted even better in a glass. Maybe it's psychological. I don't know. I do know that it hit the spot and I felt classy. Yes to getting a drink in a glass. Sandy had her drink in a cup. I showed her the braille at the bottom of it. She thought it was neat. Her reaction was similar to mine when I accidentally found it. This cafe is clean. Staff are friendly. The only downside was that there weren't any baked goods in the display case. I'm not sure why. Luckily, I wasn't in need for any, so I'm not docking any stars off my rating. There was a bin to put your glasses and dishes in by the garbage and recycle bin. I actually cleaned out my car and brought my empty beverage bottles in to be recycled. I loved being here. This cafe stands out. It is my favourite Starbucks cafe and I'm happy that I have one at long last. I hope to return and try the drive-thru. I'd also like to come back and have a drink in a glass. The team is consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. It never feels scripted. You feel welcomed, remembered, and taken care of every time you walk in. Even during busy periods, the staff stays calm, professional, and positive. There is clearly strong leadership and good training behind the scenes. The store feels well run, organized, and supportive, and that shows directly in the customer experience. The service is consistent, the details are handled well, and the energy in the space is always steady and welcoming. In a brand as large as Starbucks, it is rare to find a location that stands out this much. This one does because of the team culture, the care they bring to their work, and the way they represent the brand day in and day out. Corporate should be proud of the people working here. Highly recommend this location, not just for the coffee, but for the experience.

There's plenty of parking and a drive-through window. Food/Drinks: The classic lemonade is sweet but not ridiculously so. The lunch sandwiches are reasonably priced and taste good. They easily accommodate requests like extra crispy bacon or very little mayo. I like their rewards program, their app offers and 'roll up the rim' promotion where everyone's a winner. I used to go through canisters of hot chocolate mix as if I expected an apocalypse to occur. I stopped going through them so quickly after I looked at how much sugar I was consuming. Instead, I treat myself to a hot chocolate here and there. I did a search and found this Second Cup that is close to the hotel where I am staying. Yay! The cafe is in a small plaza. I actually entered where cars should exit. You can't see the arrow at all on the pavement. I noticed it when I left. Oops! Parking is limited. There were two spots that were opposite each other. I pulled into one and backed into the other. I then walked into the cafe. It's cozy. I can see folks sitting here for hours, chatting with a friend, or working quietly on a laptop and occasionally sipping a beverage. I knew that it felt right the moment I walked in. I headed to the counter. I had a patient person help me with my order. I wanted two hot chocolates. I am not a Second Cup regular. I pulled out my phone and rattled off the two flavours that I wanted: candy cane and cinnamon roll. I asked for no whipped cream. Done! I paid using my debit card. I did the tap thing and I was good. There is a small table where you pick up your mobile order. I waited by the regular drink counter. It didn't take long for my drinks to be ready. He smiled and wished me a good evening. Here's the fun part. I managed to get both drink into my car with my usual iced black tea from Starbucks already there. Trying to carry three beverages without a tray can be done. I had an insulated bag in my car trunk that fits all three beverages in a row. I put them all in, carried them up to my hotel room, and nothing spilled out. My hot drinks were still hot. Yay! The candy cane hot chocolate was okay. It was heavy on the candy canes that I could barely taste the hot chocolate. I need to hold back on the crushed candy canes! I loved the cinnamon roll hot chocolate a lot more. Extra cinnamon on top of a cinnamon-flavoured hot chocolate is the best. I have found my drink of choice at Second Cup. It wasn't terribly sweet. It was perfect. The baked goods looked yummy. I had already eaten dinner and didn't feel like dessert, so I passed. This cafe also has Pinkberry frozen yogurt. I'll need to try them next time.
