My favourite coffee shop , great place to relax . Cool down or warm up . Charge your devices . Use the washrooms. That are so clean . Enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and watch the desert. The customer service here is fantastic !!! Since opening a couple months ago I've been in a few times and honestly am not a big second cup fan (don't know why), their teas and coffees are very nice. All in all I'm sure I will be back many times !! read more

I'm adding a star because they've extended business hours by a little bit - Sun-Thurs to 11PM and Fri & Sat to Midnight. It's only an extra hour but the past couple of years have seen an epidemic of ever shortening business hours in food & hospitality,it's really hard to get better coffee or espresso at 10PM for people with later schedules so I appreciate this very much even though I'm not around here that often. Plus this location has at least 2 people working every time I come here, and thankfully no driv-thru (so no standing around being ignored 5 minutes while one person multitasks between prep & drive-thru...). Traffic & parking on Church is a hassle but so is the Starbucks at Yonge & College. I can see myself making a 7km detour a 2-3 times a month just to get my late coffee fix here. read more

Just learned that the tip I added to my bill using my debit card is not given to my helpful server. Apparently the second cup sees it reasonable and fair to steal the gratuities from their hardworking staff. I will never set foot into this establishment again. read more

Second Cup is the only chain coffee store where I never have a second thought about going to (get it?), as their coffee actually has decent flavour where it tastes like coffee (*cough* Tim Hortons - I don't want water + sugar) and isn't burnt (i.e. Starbucks). Given that I work at Church and Bloor, my closest options are these two and Second Cup is either a 5 minute walk away or 10 minute walk away. However, since last week was cool, I was strolling down from Bloor to Union and passed this Second Cup. It's definitely one of the nicer Second Cups I have seen (better than the one at Yonge/Charles) and they have a nice patio and a cool "elevated" seating area. So it seems like a great place to get work done, read a book or just relax and surf Yelp all day (lol). Thumbs up to this Second Cup for being the #1 coffee chain in the area. read more

Church street location is complete utter garbage. This morning a friend and I stopped in for coffees while out walking our dogs and I flat out watched the man that served us pick his nose while buttering someone's bagel. He then proceeded to wipe his hand on his pants without washing them as he didn't know I was watching him. A tall lean guy with brown hair and eyes. Just gross, I walked out and went to Starbucks across the street... which is where we should have gone in the first place. read more

Great second cup location on Church and Welles with a big patio with umbrellas, and a big back interior with a lot of plugs. Always friendly people working the counter. Always great placed for people watching, getting together with friends and just doing some work. I'm glad that they have this cafe space especially since the lettieri that used to be across the street is now a burger place- much better than the starbucks across the street. read more

Unable to make a decent americano. They just run the water thru the machine and you end up with a bitter bitter taste. Have asked them repeatedly not to do this and to make an expresso and add bit of water. No training and not able to listen. Hate as I do to admit it but Starbucks where I am now sitting makes a much better americano. read more

I like second cup more than Starbucks. Their lattes are much more flavourful and there is more variety of pastries.

Ordered a medium iced Americano. The cashier/barista was friendly and the Americano was up to my standards as a barista in a past life. It was strong and did not have the sour taste created by a bad roast. read more

As Customer #2....yes, I was the second customer to enter when the shop opened for the first time...this Second Cup has become a Fav! Always great service, great coffee and the occasional laugh! And handy...just around the corner from the office! Visits are always made more pleasant when greeted by some of the Village People... Joey, Rory, Martin, Manny and Matt ....or even newcomer, Julian...all of whom go above and beyond the call of duty to serve a great java! The newest chain coffee shop on Church (the other two are Starbucks and Timothy's). This one offers good coffee at lower prices than Starbucks. Better selection of baked goods and plenty of outdoor seating makes this a better choice during the summer or warm days. Located at the site of the former Zelda's restaurant (it has moved to a new location on Yonge Street since 2010), the coffeeshop is next door to a burger joint that opened up on the space. Yes it does add to the commercialization of a very bohemian street, but new a spot competing for coffee and tea lovers is always welcomed. read more

I find the manager/owner prejudiced. If you are not white you don't get a hello or thank you when you purchase something. It happened o me again today and swore never to come back to this location again! I suggest he put a sign at the counter that says "non-white customers are not welcome here" ! read more

I came here to redeem a reward. As I was lining up there was a woman in front of me. I notice the cashier looking at me so I decided to ask the woman in fron of me if she was ready to order. I guess its not part of the person in cash to asked people if they are ready instead they will just look at the next person. I guess saying Hi May I take your order is too much of a hassle. So I went in front of the cash, the bitchy cashier just looked at me. So I said I am reedeming a reward and I said my order to him. I told him the second time that I am redeeming a reward. The guy asked me if I want to pay and i said again with my reward and he gestured to the phone scanner. To my surprise I was charged. I told him to reverse the charged and he said no. The other guy who is making the drink butted in and said its ok you can use it next time. The reason I went to this location is to redeem my reward. I can already tell these two are full of attitude. After cashing out the person on cash said nothing to me, but i noticed the look of dismay in his face as if i was a nuissance to them when I asked for the charge to be reversed. I didn't bother arguing. So As I wait for my drink to be prepared the two bitchy baristas decided to talk in their language. I though tis was extremely rude. Don't go here if you want to get served with bitchiness and attitude on the side. Don't expect a hi or a thank you from the people here. Also make sure you don't redeem rewards here it can be reversed as the two that served me decided even though its clearly their mistake. read more

The layout is great, free wifi, good coffee which is usually fresh, wheelchair-friendly bathrooms, fireplace, decent amount of seating inside and a huge patio (that non-smokers can't use). There are plug-ins located near a good portion of the tables for your laptops or i-things. The cafe theoretically offers fresh air with it's giant glass garage doors open throughout the summer. My peeve and why I rarely frequent the cafe is because the entire cafe is loaded with cigarette smoke from the smokers on the patio. I smell like I did when I went clubbing before the smoking ban. It stinks, it's awful, your eyes burn, your lungs get sore and the head aches come. It may be nicer in the winter but ignorant smokers are also oblivious to the fact that the smoke sticks to them and they bring it in anyways. Therefore, due to poor indoor air quality and carcinogenic exposure, I care not for this cafe. read more
