Amazing! Large store with tons of quality options and great prices. A wide range of styles and brands, including a lot of high-end clothing (I saw a Gianni Versace dress for like 40 or 50$) and a lot of vintage (There was a cute Nicole Miller dress for 200$, out of my price range but lovely). You'll definitely find some cute stuff. The black velvet shoes I purchased were 22$, and the gold and black dress I purchased (with a matching cover up) for 48$. Not bad! They also have a ton of stuff on sale for 25 and 50% off. Cute casual wear and mens clothes too. Fitting rooms were clean and spacious. Very friendly staff, great clothes and a good space for shopping. :)

Hidden behind Sole inside the D'Avolio building on Elmwood, this little consignment shop is full of gems, at decent prices. They've got both newish and vintage stuff, and a wide range of sizes. Their biggest strength seems to be their awesome collection of shoes and boots that can be worn this season, though I didn't buy any. The one thing I didn't love about the shop was the customer service. The clerk, who was talking to a friend, acted like we were interrupting her when we asked for prices on certain things, and was really grumpy and unprofessional in her interactions with us throughout our visit. That said, I'd still come in again. To give a sense of the range of the store: the two garments I wanted most were a gorgeous '60s-era dress that I imagine some starlet wearing while handing out martinis in her California bungalow, still with the tags on (and priced at $120), and a little gently-worn BCBG top perfect for New Year's Eve (priced at $8). Sadly, I could only take the latter, but it's nice to know I can find both there.

Great shop behind Taste of Siam. I highly recommend visiting both, preferably Second Chic first because trying on clothes after you eat is never a good idea. They've taken over the whole space that used to belong to several businesses and galleries, with items in several rooms, so be prepared to browse for a while. They had a nice selection and the prices seemed pretty good.

    Cutest clothes ever!

I wanted to check out a secondhand place while I was in town and there were only a few open.

When I first began dating my boyfriend, he told me that he'd been looking for a "future eccentric…read moreold lady." Apparently, I am that future eccentric old lady (no argument there). And as such, I think this may be where future (or current) eccentric old ladies in Buffalo go for their fabulous garments. This beautiful store is a colorful collage of aesthetics, textures, prices and pieces, from long, minimalistic jersey dresses to frou-frou formalwear with silk flowers and lace. The accessories, too, run the gamut, from trendy pendants to vintage-y looking pearls (and are showcased beautifully in a variety of frames and clear-top tables). It's very eclectic, yet it it all works and seems to reflect one strong sense of direction. You can imagine every piece being in the same cool chick's closet. And when I say cool, I don't mean someone who looks like she was put together by Rachel Zoe; I mean like someone who brings her own totes to the farmer's market, knows how to pick out a slew of songs on a guitar with some confidence, volunteers for a cool nonprofit on the weekends, and has a decent recipe for hummus that she can make from memory. I can really only lay claim to the latter, but there's still plenty of time for me to evolve into my future self. And as I do, I may just age gracefully into her wearing something from the Dress Shop.

A few weeks ago I visited this shop with intent of purchasing a few new pieces for my wardrobe…read moresince i had heard such great things about the selection here. i was very excited and couldn't wait to see what i could find. Prior to my arrival which was fairly close to the opening of the store, I stopped to get my morning coffee. When i entered the store coffee in hand i was immediately greeted by "you cant have that in here!" Lets start by saying i am not a 7 year old child and will not run around hoping to spill my drink on the dresses, also i was not offered a place to sit it while i shopped i was simply told i can not have it in here. Disgusted with the horrible customer service i left. Simply a "How are you this morning? i'm sorry ma'am but is there anyway you could leave that outside, we don't allow drinks within our store" would have done. The store apparently has great pieces from what i've heard, but unless this staff gets their stuff together their going to be turning more and more people away form their business.
