Goodwill is a shell of its former self. They now take somewhat valuable or good quality items, and sell them on their web-based platform (online). The remaining low quality stuff is what they put in the store. Good books, dvds, cds are impossible to come by. Likewise with toys/games/electronics. Generally not worth the trip at all anymore. read more

Large toddler clothing and toy selection at this store in comparison to the Lockport location. But this location's housewares seemed pretty picked over. I feel like these stores are either really great or not at all, just kind of depends on the day and what's donated! read more

Goodwill - Dino shirt and heart dress - Thrift Stores Near Me - Williamsville, New York

Zero stars. Not just this location, the one on Colvin and the one in Syracuse. I have a job going on east of Syracuse... Chittenango exactly. 2.5 hours east of Buffalo. I needed a small radio at the job site so I bought a clean Sony CD boom box for $8 But it didn't have a cord so I couldn't test it. I asked the clerk: can i return this to any location and he said yes.I repeat He said Yes. So I drove to Savers on Eggert to see if they had a cord and they did, so I bought it for about 2 bucks. I have the receipt. So I drove to my job in Chittenango and discovered the cord wouldn't make the radio work. So then I went to McGowan's hardware in Chittenango and bought 6 C cell batteries for about $10. Installed the batteries and the radio doesn't work, it turns on for about a second and then shuts off, no CD, no Aux, no cell phone dock. I went to the Goodwill near Manlius to return it but found out it was only a donation center. I only had 72 hours to return the radio, the next afternoon I drove to the Goodwill in Syracuse to get a refund. They don't know anything about any Goodwill store in any place called Tonowanda and won't issue a refund. Si I figure no big deal, I'll explain the situation to a goodwill store when I get home to Buffalo, I got home on Friday just in time for a snow storm and driving ban.. No big deal I guess, I'll just explain it to the store in Williamsville and there won't be any problem. Well I guess it was a problem because the young women working the counter refused to issue a refund even as I tried to explain my situation and how frustrated I was and the time and effort and expense I had gone to to try to make the radio work and then to simply get a refund for a defective product They Sold me telling me I could get a refund at Any Goodwill...the clerk was shouting at me as I tried to explain my situation, talking over me, totally impatient, and made me feel like I Had Done Something Wrong when I was simply trying to follow through on a promise one of their clerks had made. If I had known I couldn't return the radio wherever, I Wouldn't Have Purchased it!! They sold me a piece of junk radio, and won't refund my money!! I have the cost of the cord The cost of the batteries The Time and gas I spent to go to their donation center in Manlius The time and gas to drive to their store in Syracuse and now time and gasoline to go to the store in Williamsville and then get treated like I'm some kind of flim flam artist trying to rip them off. I called the store on Colvin and the manager said she would call Manager and get back to me. We 6 hours went by and I haven't heard back from her yet. I'll tell you what: being treated like this is BullShit. I don't know if it's their policy to lie to their customers, sell junk and then when the customer tries to seek relief #Goodwill treats them like suspected thieves and then ghosts them. I'm very angry and I'm considering legal action. After I get my money back, I'm never stepping into one of their stores again unless it's to accidentally drop merchandise on the floor or ink stain the apparel. read more

Truly one of the more expensive goodwills in the area. Outrageous and unfortunate. A lot of damaged items marked as if they were new. New items were priced higher than if they were actually not outdated and actually new. Rude staff. Bummer. I'm a generally big goodwill fan! read more

Goodwill is a for profit so the first stop is usually to Salvation Army but in the off chance items cannot be located at SA then Goodwill is a secondary option. This review serves as more of a comparison between SA and Goodwill since they are so close together geographically. SHOPPING: The new Goodwill location is neater and far more organized than it's former space. There is much more space so more items are laid out at one time although the women's clothing dominates. The dress selection is almost an entire wall next to the dressing rooms. The children's clothing seems smaller than Salvation Army although it could just be a smaller infant/toddler selection and a larger more organized kids selection. There is a large kitchen, home decor, and book section. Not as much furniture compared to Salvation Army. DRESSING ROOMS: Assuming it is due to covid, the dressing rooms seem to be permanently closed. This is -2 stars because all sales are final and unless Goodwill wants patrons to try on items in the middle of the isles then they need to figure this out or lose customers. PRICES: Goodwill in general gets 1 less star for its discount days and higher prices in general compared to the Salvation Army. If you are a thrifter and a saver then discount days/events are what you look for. Since the prices are higher DONATION DROP OFF: The only downside of Salvation Army's drop off procedure is that normally the bins located around the city are overflowing and often donated items get ruined by rain or damaged by other weather. This is where Goodwill on this side of town shines. There is a door in the back where you can pull your vehicle right up and an employee helps you to unload. Collect your donation slip and drive away. So easy and painless. The only thing is that you have to go during hours. read more

I stopped in here before Halloween to see if they had any pieces for my costume. Earlier that day I happened to slice my finger and my wound opened up as I entered the Goodwill. I only had my paycheck stub as a paper product that I could wrap my finger in. I quickly went over to an employee and asked for a Band-Aid. He told me to go wash my cut in the bathroom, which I didn't know they offered, and ran to get me a Band-Aid. The bathroom was clean. I washed my finger and the employee gave me a sturdy Band-Aid. I thought it was very kind of him. Thank you for going that extra mile. read more

I like to visit different Goodwill stores to check out different stock, as this does tend to vary. This is a medium sized Goodwill, smaller than the one in Tonawanda but a little bigger than the one on Delaware. It has a good selection, and I was able to find several things in my size. My only complaint about this location is that at least one of the dressing rooms is missing a place to hang your stuff, which encourages messiness, and at the time I visited, it was understaffed - only one person was at the register, so I had to wait about 10 minutes to check out. Otherwise, this is a decent Goodwill, and one I'll visit again. read more

This particular goodwill store is small but they have little of all the essentials. It was also very clean and smelled nice relative with other stores. I love to shop at thrift stores so anytime there is even a small store opening up somewhere, it's a good thing. It fills a gap in the neighborhood and is a meaningful way for people to donate their clothes. It is also a good place to find clothes while giving money to a good cause. read more

Being a thrift store junkie - I've been in many stores and this one didn't shock us in a good way or bad way - it is what it is and nothing more! The items aren't priced individually - there are signs on the racks that list the prices and then all items of the same are that price. That's sorta cool and means you could get something really good for next to nothing! Though this store isn't big - I was able to find a couple great deals and was happy I went. Though I wouldn't make a special trip to this store - I'd go back and dig around if in the area again. read more
