Their elementary school celebrates Buffalo Bills team every Friday during the football season. Why buy brand new when you can find almost for significantly less money! The men's department yielded up a dozen brand new basketball shorts with the tag still on for only $4.99. We grabbed a good handful of those. All in all another, very successful trip to the Amvets Thrift Store.

I'm writing about ALL their locations:…read more Buffalo location - it's near the art store named Hyatt's and is the biggest AMVETS I've been too. Lots of selection but prices were high. It also smelled dirty like all amvets do but it also smelled like weed too. I left with nothing and wasn't sad about it either. The people were nice and let you shop, but maybe it's cause of the weed smell, who knows. I was there once and won't be back due to travel distance. West Seneca Location - they have a nice assortment of stuff but it always smells dirty and the floors are dirty. You come out smelling like the store. I hate going in it but my mom likes to thrift. I only donate items. I typically haven't had any issue with donating to this location. The old man with the long hair is REALLY NICE! He's the nicest employee across all their locations. Deal with him only if you go inside. He will let you take the tote out to your car for donation items to bring in. My mom has never had an issue donating here either - he always lets us take the tote. Last time I tried to donate, he was there and said i could take the tote as i always ask. Well, last time when i did that, a younger employee came out and caught me midway taking it to my car and told me i couldn't take the tote because they're very expensive and apparently the policy is it remains in the store and you have to bring your items in and place them in the tote. I told him the long haired man said it was okay and that I've never had issues, and that i had heavy items and needed help getting them in. Nothing i said mattered to him. He did NOT offer to help me and ended up taking the empty tote inside before i could get my stuff into it. I should have left but i honestly wanted to get rid of my items, so i chose to donate. They have the heaviest of doors and they never leave them open. It took me several trips to get my items inside. The long haired man saw me making the trips and asked why i didn't take the tote. I told him what had happened, and he shook his head. The long haired man ended up helping me. I never went back after that experience. I will NOT be donating to AMVETS anymore. Cheektowaga location: This is the location my mom likes to visit the most. This one smells dirty as well, floors are dirty and you come out smelling dirty. For donating items, you have to pull up in the back of the building. You have to bring your items to the door and they do NOT help you. There's no totes either. I went to donate in November or December of 2025. They don't salt or clear a pathway to the door so it's easy to slip/fall on their property and maybe that's what they are waiting for lol. Thankfully i didn't fall, but i nearly did. An adult and her small child were waiting at the door to take my things. The adult was on her phone the WHOLE time! The adult NEVER helped take my stuff. She had her small daughter take everything! The daughter looked like she was maybe 5 years old max age. 3-5 years old. The adult was barefoot! The adult at least had a jacket on at the door but the child didn't have a jacket on, not even a sweatshirt and she was the one taking my items. I even offered to help take them inside because i couldn't believe what i was seeing. I even asked numerous times if the lil girl 'had it' and 'do you need help?' loud enough for her mom to hear me. I felt so bad, this lil girl was doing everything while her parent was too busy on her phone. The parent never looked up! I feel so bad for this child. We've donated lots in the past and never encountered this! Based on this experience, I've never donated again. I will not go back to AMVETS nor donate. We've instead been donating to other places that act more professionally and actually help you and they don't smell!

Found a great pair of sneakers for my little guy that are absolutely brand new, and discounted all the way down to ten bucks! This is a great place to get some Buffalo Bills T-shirts for the kids, because our school celebrates the Bills every single Friday. They found a very beautiful frosted glass flower vase. I'd like to take cuttings from my flower beds, and this vase is a nice addition to my collection.

It's on Sheridan, it's much smaller than Savers, Amvets or Goodwill or any of those kinds of stores, making it a very easy place to stop and do a quick run in if you're looking for something or a quick run in just to check it out. It's close to my regular grocery stores, so I was really hoping this was going to be the place. All I can say is that it's not not the place. Walking in, I immediately came to face a large security footage screen, as if to deter me from theft. The proceeds of the sales go towards feeding and clothing the underprivileged (they say they even give some donations to the people in need, which explains where all the clothes I throw in those red boxes around town go) which you would hope would make anyone with a conscience pay up, though at the prices they charge, I could see why one wouldn't want to. The prices are more comparable to a low end clothing retailer like Walmart than second hand stores I have grown accustomed to. They also had the colored tags, and I looked unsuccessfully for signage to see if it meant any deals. Their website explains the color would make something half off, which must not have been the case today. I combed through the racks, which are sorted by type and size instead of color. I was able to find one cheaper pair of pants to try on, so I headed to the back, where there were two massive unlocked fitting rooms. They were super clean and spacious with a wall sized mirror, a bench and a rack for returns. I could comfortably kick my legs about (yes, kick, as I was testing the durability) and squat down (butt crack coverage) without worrying about hitting the wall. Side quest accomplished. I had also looked through the rest of the store: furniture, housewares, toys and books. I was disturbed to find a used bottle of mouthwash for sale on the shelf, which is mostly the reason why when deciding between a three and a four for this review, I knocked it down. The cashier asked if I wanted to join the loyalty program, to which I declined, watching my total pop up on a screen in front of me. They're rounding pennies now for those paying cash. Which in the grand scheme of things hopefully means that an extra two cents is helping those they serve. I might come back at some point, with more money in my wallet to poke around, but for a place called Heart, this isn't my new love.

Honestly, I think I'm in there more than anywhere else in town... okay, maybe second only to the coffee shop -- but still. Priorities. Recently one of the girls who works there asked, "Were you in here recently?" My response: "Yes... but you're going to have to be more specific." At this point I'm basically on a first-name basis with the clearance rack. This place is truly a magical hybrid of boutique, consignment shop, and small-town treasure hunt. They have clothes for kids, teens, and adults -- some new, some consignment -- and the consignment pieces are so pristine you'd swear the previous owner bought them, lovingly removed the tags, whispered affirmations over them, and then never wore them once. And it doesn't stop at clothing. Oh no. There's furniture, small appliances, baby items, exercise gear, bedding, health and beauty goodies (from really good brands, too). You name it, they probably have it. And if they don't today... check back next week, because the inventory changes constantly. One of my favorite things is how active they are on Facebook -- posting new arrivals, sale alerts, and little contests so you can plan your visit like a highly strategic shopping mission. If you live in or anywhere near Alden and you haven't been here yet, I don't know what you're doing with your life -- but I gently and lovingly suggest you redirect yourself to Under One Roof immediately. This week I called to retrieve only the new winter coats and they tell me there is no balance on my account - and they do not have them. They further went on to state, they had nothing "tagged" for me since last December.... you literally cannot randomly drop off items, you need an appointment which I had January 26, 2026! The owner had her manager call me, who I had spoke to about these coats twice. Since they take your items and you get no ticket, ...they win! Bad business practice. Whoever took these coats has some nice winter wear.

I am not exaggerating when I say every single article of clothing my kids have is from here. They have daily sales and are very helpful. My mom passed a little over a year and a half ago, and these ladies have become a sense of comfort for me and my family. These gals help with anything from explaining daily household items and their uses, to helping calm and entertain my kiddos while mommy can look and find the incredible deals I do! They feature some great items for every kind of collector…read more Quality furniture is sprinkled throughout the store with a lot of diversity in terms of style and age. The upstairs area is a little sparse but has a few cool items as well. Take your time in this small shop for you will definitely find something worth taking home.
