The second ave supreme was eye popping with toppings, and despite being piled inches high, the dough was perfect and toppings cooked thru. We found Second Avenue Pizza because it got good reviews -- the delivery was here within 30 minutes and the guy who brought us the food was friendly. Schweitzer Ski Flake (with chicken): $24.95 (large) It was just okay. I honestly thought it would have more flavor (couldn't even taste the garlic). The taste just didn't quite match up to the "wow factor" of the pizza having so many toppings (& weighing like 5 lbs!). The pizza had HEAPS of fresh spinach, a lot of tomatoes, huge chunks of feta cheese galore, mushrooms, black olives and a lot of asiago cheese. When it says you can add shavings of chicken, that's just it: small amount of chicken. The toppings were so thick & abundant - you definitely get the amount you pay for. I can eat any pizza but I cannot eat whatever this was. Not sure what kind of dough they used but it was thick and chewy like bread dough, not pizza dough. The cheese looked like it came from (and tasted) the Kraft mozzarella pre-shredded cheese. The "sauce" was not seasoned, it tasted like Hunts tomato sauce from a can. I will hand it to them for their toppings. But the first bite was like biting into a day old tough roll that has been sitting out on the counter. Again, I will eat any pizza, but I couldn't finish this. There was an absence of flavor, like pizza called from the other room, but forgot to come into the room. Oh the cardboard was soaked. For those wanting a quick review: Pizza is amazing but it does take longer than other pizza places. Large 1 topping (good amount for 2 people) was $13.75. For those wanting a longer review: Pizza is still amazing, and the cost is also the same. Atmosphere was average. There was a hockey game being played with high volume (hard to concentrate/talk to others) and there were several tables which had not been cleaned (yikes, just looks bad). Watched several waiters walk by and do nothing... However, we fixed these problems by getting our pizza to go. We were also there late on a Sunday night, so there weren't too many people there. With more people, I am guessing they would have been forced to clean the tables in order to serve people and perhaps the general babble would have drowned out the game. However, the pizza time would have been longer as well. I highly recommend Second Ave based on the overall quality and size of pizza. You will be full of good pizza when done. This is a rare case where the food quality was high enough to compensate for below average other factors. We will be coming back again! read more

After a long wait in line to order, the wait for our pizza to be made took nearly 2 hours. The inside of the restaurant was outdated and divey, and the more crowded it became, I didn't feel comfortable being somewhere where there wasn't good air circulation. The service was fast and the employees were very nice the only problem was the food. The sizes were huge, and were slightly misleading. Ok pizza but definitely not my favorite. What it has going for it: - place is rather large, so plenty of seating - they are generous with the toppings - plenty of parking - they deliver What it has going against it: - place needs to be renovated - kind of expensive for what you get - rather slow from the time you order to the time your picking up your pizza - pizza crust is too light for my taste So this place was a little hard to find. It's not on the main part of 2nd Ave. You walk in and you notice a lot of seating. The decor is really not too appealing and i guess it's a thing for the local kids to tag anything that is wood in this place. If you want a good time there are plenty of phone numbers to choose from on the seating. The customer areas are for the most part clean but everything is dated and worn. Guessing it's owned by retirees since there is a lot 50's memorabilia up. They even have juke box....but it doesn't work. What really puts the decor over the top is the toilet seat they have mounted on the wall. As for the pizza...well let's just say there are better options in Sandpoint in my opinion. Expect a wait, because their pizza is amazing....the wait is worth every minute. I work here so let me give you the scoop. Awesome speciality pizzas piled high with toppings & cheese. Everything fresh from scratch even the the dough. Calzones the size of footballs. Veggie, vegan, and GF options (rice crust is great!). Cheesy garlic bread (yum), salads, bbq legs, and sandwiches also. There is a thin crust option if you don't like the deep dish style. A small will feed 2-3 people. There is a minimum of 30-35 minute wait once you order at the counter, and this is because it takes that long to cook thru the giant pizzas. On Friday and Saturday nights, expect to wait longer- possibly over an hour. We have 4 big ovens rolling and we bust our butts to cook them as fast as possible- but we don't sacrifice quality for speed. If you're looking for fast cheapo pizza try a chain. Ours is worth the wait- just leave some time for dining in or call ahead. Locally owned & operated and one of a kind! read more

We came to visit some friends here in Sandpoint, ID and ordered the large Jukebox Special through delivery which consisted of Pepperoni, Spicy Italian Sausage, Mushroom, Olive, and Onion. Holy flippin' cow, this is a monstrosity of a pizza pie and was forewarned! This sucker probably weighed like 10 lbs. Exercise curls with this pie is probably highly suggested between bites, that's how massive this thing is. Very topping heavy. Can easily serve 5-6 people, for sure. The flavor of the ingredients was good, however, wasn't a big fan of their sauce. Can't really pinpoint why other than it seemed very acidic and maybe too tomato-ey if that's a thing but it had zest. The Italian sausage had a nice spicy kick to it and they sprinkled fresh parm over the whole pie which is a new one on me. I'm use to getting packets of dry parm and crushed red pepper in other places which I kind actually prefer. The crust had a nice crisp. This isn't one of my favorites but it's still a good option. The ordering process was super easy and the people are way cool. It took about an hour to get the pie delivered. The price is RIDICULOUSLY affordable!! Everything (with tip) was still less than $30.
