Good to see new digs, finally. It's a comfortable, half-sports--half ski apres, set up. Honestly, well thought out for a tourist area. Had a Meatball Grinder for lunch, and it was fine. And, I liked the option for Tim's Jalapeno chips as a side. All the young crew working there on a busy Sat afternoon were great. All smiles, good banter with the diners, just a good mood bunch, and that made the stop memorable for me. This joint has Sandpoint/Sand Creek written all over it... read more

Finally got around to trying this place after four years of living in the area, and about one year living in Sandpoint. While their pizza menu consists of Classics and Specialty, they also do some of the old standby options off menu (regular old pepperoni for my less adventurous kids). Price to pizza ratio is decent, where for $25 out the door you can get a 16" pizza that reasonably feeds a family of four. The slices are generously sized, so it does go quick if you're feeding a crew, but I polished off two slices feeling quite full, but not so bad I wanted to lapse into a food coma. The Sandpoint location is fairly conveniently placed right off of Highway 95 by the lake and the old power house with a horseshoe bend parking lot with plenty of parking either side. The interior seemed nice and upbeat: Classic rock on the sound system, clean tables, ski themed decorations, etc. I didn't get an extensive look, but the beer selection looked good to above average. Staff were very friendly and my pizza was done before I even arrived to pick it up. On the whole, where other pizza places (I'm looking at you, 2nd Ave Pizza) are inexplicably closed on a Monday night, this place provides a very tasty pie for a very decent price. My wife and I were both reminded of places like Round Table and Mountain Mike's as far as taste and quality of ingredients. Powder Hounds is definitely at a higher quality elevation than Dominos or any of the other homogenous chain places. And I would definitely eat here again. read more

Powder Hound Pizza - Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, and Jalapeños. - Pizza Near Me - Sandpoint, Idaho

This was a tastey pizza. I shall order it again. I am required to extend this to 85 characters.

Everyone told me this place was great. I went there got a pizza and it's not great and the guy that took my order. Had such an attitude was not a friendly experience. I do not recommend this place to anyone go to Bab's Pizza a hell of a lot better has flavor this place does not. read more

Excellent pizza and service. Highly recommend this stop in Sandpoint. Close to shops and the lake

Wow. What a gem. Came and visited family and worked all day. Looking for something to eat and family said to try Powder Hound. This pizza is amazing! I love wood fired pizza and we had the Garbage Can and Husky Hawaiian. Best pizza I have had I a while. I love Second Ave but this place is completely different. Service was phenomenal. You order everything at the counter which is totally fine. Front of house service was super nice and worked on changing the tv to the game we wanted to watch. Small place but plenty of seating. Outdoor section looks awesome but still a little cold out when we went there. I will be coming back here again very soon! read more

A web search for Margarita pizza came up with this place, and it was good! But we got more than that, with my daughter's Caprese sandwich being the best thing we had, and it came with a surprisingly large side salad that we all got to share. It's a newer facility, and it's nice to see them rebound from the bad fire that destroyed their previous location. It was at the end of the ski season, but it was still pretty crowded when we went on a Sat night. We enjoyed our dinner here. read more

5 Stars - My Favorite Pizza Spot Ever! Powderhound Pizza is seriously amazing! Every time I go, the food is consistently delicious, and the vibe is so cozy and fun as well as a service. The crust is perfectly crispy, the toppings are super fresh, and the flavors are just next level. You can really tell they put love into every pizza. Whether I'm grabbing a quick bite for lunch at the ski mountain or hanging out with friends, this place never disappoints. I love it so much! definitely a must-visit if you're at Schweitzer Mountain! read more

This was an easy to go order and they had it ready as I got there, the checkout was easy and I was on my way!

Didn't feel like going out and didn't feel like cooking, so what did I do? Ordered Delicious and Unique pizzas from Powder Hound Pizza - on Superior Street in Sandpoint. We have eaten their pizza at Schweitzer Village and the one in town is a lot closer to home. We ordered the Spicy Thai and the Cuban Pork. The Thai is definitely spicy from the Jalapeños and Siracha but the sweetness from the fresh shredded carrots and the crunchiness from the peanuts is nice delight. The chicken is moist and tender and we loved the Thai Peanut Sauce as the base. The Cuban Pork has braised pork on an Alfredo Sauce and a nice topping of pepperoncinis and drizzled Dijon mustard. We love trying unique pizzas and these definitely hit the spot read more

The pizza is delicious! We had a gluten free crust, CBR with bbq sauce, and it was fantastic. The flavors were so good. The restaurant is very clean! The staff was friendly and helpful in ordering gluten free. We will be back! read more

The meatball sub was disappointing. The bread was dry, and the meatballs tasted of Costco. Service was fine.

Ordered pick-up last night at "Powder Hound Pizza" and I can say with certainty, this is my favorite pizza in Sandpoint! The Prosciutto pizza is a go -to fave and im always impressed with their on point pick up times. We ordered pick up last night (Friday) and our order was ready for us when we arrived at our specified pick up time. Service was happy to help and the pizza was so good we're having it again tonight! read more

We love Powder Hound both at Schweitzer and in Sandpoint! Today, we tried to call in a pizza to dine in and were told to order online. When we got there we were told we aren't supposed to order online and eat in...we didn't have a lot of time so wanted to order ahead. It would be great if you put an option for the online ordering to dine in, then it wouldn't waste a box and help people in a time crunch read more

Absolutely delicious gluten free Hawaiian pizza ! The Thor's Hammer on regular crust was fantastic!

Delicious pizza. Had the Thor's hammer. Asked for thin crust. Nice and crispy. Only thing didn't like were the chairs. Not comfortable.

The service was terrific and I love the ambiance. The beer selection was good and well-chilled. I ordered a pizza, which sadly, is easily forgettable. Pizza was dry with hardly any sauce. Big screen televisions make for great sports viewing. Seems like a nice place for families or groups. Plenty of parking is available. read more

Stopped at the hound for the first time over the summer. Weird that the building is an old bank my parents banked at in my childhood 1970's. Their is seating outside and inside. We sat outside just a fair warning, you may have to fight off flies or bees if you sit outside. We loved our pizzas and good choice of beer and soft drink. Good for groups as their are lawn games for the kiddos or adults. read more

A good pizza. I dig that they play ski videos in shop while you eat your pizza. A good place after a day at the mountain.

Overview: As a vegan, this place has my favorite pizza option. Service is very friendly, but its popular and busy which may make service slow. They are up front when wait times are very long. Ruthy is the best there, but she's the only person there I worked with, and she's still amazing with her friendliness and recommendations. Toppings and price: Unfortunately I have to take one of their specialty pizzas and make some modifications to get what I want because getting a pizza and adding toppings cost more than modifying a specialty pizza. Portion Size: You have to ask for vegan cheese. They put in a hearty amount so be prepared to feel sick if you eat too much. That's sick in the sense, I over ate because it tasted so good. Most large vegan pizzas feed 1 person, this large easily feeds 3 without sides or 4-5 with sides. Cut: I like square cut because I like the center pieces and my wife likes the crust corners and they'll do that if you ask. They cut 2x one direction and 3x the other direction which leaves offer sized pieces in the center and smaller on 2 sides. They need to do a 3x3 cut instead for even slices. Atmosphere: It's casual. Nice. Okay. Nothing fancy. Has outdoor seating but only a view of the road. They offer the game of corn hole which is great if the wait is long. Beer: Last but not least, they alternate beers every couple weeks which is great for people like me who prefer novelty over favorites. I've been here 3x now and took my sister who isn't vegan and loves pizza and she said the non vegan pizza was worth it too. read more

absolutely aesthetic atmosphere Very GOOOD! Great dinner awesome fast service I slurped up that pizza! read more

second time going here because the first time was excellent. best pizza in town. crust was cooked perfectly. not over done but crispy on the edges. sauce was great not plain tomato sauce like other pizza shops. Waited 45 min for 1 pizza so we asked when our food would be ready...we were told "it's Friday night" ummm....I'm aware what day it is....that's not an appropriate answer. Pizza was gross. Barely edible. Won't be back read more

This is a great pizza place to eat. It was a little long to get food, but it was only because it was paked. But when you ask for like one piece of a slice, they will give you a whole pizza to eat. But overall it was good the pizza was good and it overall it was great. read more

This is our new favorite pizza place. The 45 minute to an hour drive for us to come here is well worth it. I've driven past this place for work the last 2 years and finally checked it out a couple of months ago after my in-laws came to town and wanted to check out sandpoint. We loved the pizza! This weekend after cooling down at the lake at Farragut, we decided to drive up to Powderhound because we were salivating at the thought of it from our past experience. The pizza is phenomenal and did not disappoint! So good we didn't even need any dipping sauces, which we always eat our pizza with ranch. We got our pizza pretty quick. Most pizza places you go to the crust is usually tough and/or burnt but their pizza has the soft chewy crust and it was fantastic. The order process is so nice when you can just go to the counter or window to order or even order using the QR code. We sat on the patio this time and it was perfect. I also really like the chairs they have on the patio, super comfortable that I even looked up getting some for our own patio. This is our new favorite pizza place. It's delicious and they must have seen and were receptive to their low reviews they got a few years ago about their service because their service was great and I have no complaints! Look forward to our next trip! read more

Great pizza, great atmosphere, super fast service! First time, but will be back as a regular.

Online order system is flawed. Made me re-enter credit card info 6 times because "pickup time changed." Says 1 hour. We show up at 1 hour. They tell us it may be another hour. Ask if I got a text. I didn't see where there system said I would receive a text when it's ready. What does this help me if I live 15 minutes away and don't want a cold pizza? Have to wait in line again, 15 more minutes for a refund. Can't find a way to cancel order online. Cancel order. Receive a text 10 minutes later our order is ready for pickup. Auto text because of cancellation or our pizza was really almost ready? We would have waited. Either way wasted a bunch of our time and energy and ended up empty handed. I wish Second Avenue was open on Sundays because I probably will not order from this place again. Initially tried to order via phone but good luck with that because you can NOT get through to their line, not to order or to cancel. Forget about it. Save yourself some time and energy and eat somewhere else. read more

Got a pizza here for my lunch breaks one day. Flavor was not bad however, the pizza was not cooked through. The bottom of the pizza was for sure browned, but after that, it was raw dough. I am not writing them off. Next time I ask them just to cook it a little bit more. read more

I was very disappointed that my family was not treated as though our business is appreciated. We changed our mind and decided to eat in the restaurant instead of takin it home and was lectured by the owner and treated poorly when we were leaving being asked to take the box out to the dumpster ourselves. There are better places to spend your money. read more

Well as a pizza connoisseur, I will have to say that this pizza has high marks. Literally every choice you make is the right choice. Plus, they have great salads, drinks for all and skiing on the TV! Highly recommend read more
