I needed a roof repair for an older rental propery on the Florida Panhandle. The original roof was still in place and approximately 20 years old, but was showing signs of damage and severe wear. With hurricane season entering the worst part of the year, getting the roof repaired was critical to avoid serious damage to the home. I was referred to SEC by a neighbor who has been a trusty handyman for us in the past and I contacted them immediately. The owner responded almost immediately and some repairmen showed up later that week to provide an estimate. The estimate was very thorough and confirmed what I expected - a full roof replacement was necessary. Given the building boom going on in our area, my next big concern was how long it would take for a crew to do the work. I was surprised when the office manager called and said it could be completed within 7-10 days! The work was started early in the morning on the day SEC said it would, and was fully completed by the end of day. The new roof looks excellent, and SEC hauled away all debris and provided the final billing the next day. Although this was not my primary residence and is an average size home, I would not hesitate to contact or recommend SEC for any size home! A terrific roofing company ! I can not say enough. I was under pressure from my insurance company, who had threatened to cancel my homeowner's policy during hurricane season. I had only 20 days to find a roofer and re-roof my home. Michelle at SEC reassured me they could fit me in quickly and get my home roofed in time, to keep me from being cancelled. They came in a week or so later, with a large crew and did a fantastic job. Steve made sure my driveway pavers were protected and his crew would clean up thoroughly each evening. They use one of the three top roofing products picks that Consumer Report suggests. My roof looks terrific and it was completed a week before hurricane Sally arrived. My roof held up great during this hurricane. I sit on the sound facing East and my roof took a beating from all the high winds. Steve came out the very next day, after Sally to inspect my roof. If you are in need of a reputable company to replace your roof, I can recommend SEC Renovations and Repair without any hesitation. I called for an estimate for a complete roof replacement, provided my address and had a detailed proposal in a couple of days. The proposal was the best of the two I obtained. The whole process was easy and I had a new roof within two weeks of accepting proposal. Communication was great, they notified my at least two days in advance of delivering material and starting the job. Emails and phone calls were answered same day. Paul was a great on-site supervisor and made sure we were informed and satisfied with all the work. A big plus is SEC is an authorized My Safe Florida Home contractor and which will help you with a wind mitigation report and and mysafeflorida home grant application. SEC roofing is excellent to work with. Office support was great, talked me through getting out of a "free" roofing inspection scam with APEX Roofing, that obligated me to have them represent me with my insurance company. Then APEX over charged me 100% for the roof installation from what SEC quoted. SEC worked with my solar company schedule to remove the existing solar panels and get the work done quickly and have the solar panels reinstalled with minimum downtime. The install team, led by Junior and Paul did a great job. They got the job done in 12 hours, on a very hot 98 degree day. Junior and Paul did a custom metal flashing over my existing screen room to correct a leak issue when the sun room was built. Clean up was exceptional after the work was completed. Needed a new roof before listing house fo sale. We got several quotes and SEC was in the middle. They were close to us and had good contacts with them through the bidding process. We chose SEC because of their work and certification with Atlas shingles with Scotchgard. Their communication was great with deliveries and schedule. They showed up just as expected and worked hard all day to complete our 2100 sq ft house in a day. They did a great job with clean up and we think our new roof looks beautiful. SEC reroofed my house and detached garage. The crew was professional and efficient, completing both roofs under three days. They cleaned up the property at the end of each day and, as it was windy, chased papers and shingles throughout the day so none blew onto my neighbors' properties. The crew and site supervisor did a thorough inspection of the roofs before installing the new underlay and shingles, pointing out their findings before continuing. In the end, I had two great looking roofs that should last for many years... hurricanes permitting. If you want your roof done right as in a very timely manner then call SEC. Steve came right over and identified some problems that the last roofing company did not address thank you Steve!!! I had called the other contractors 3 weeks before I called Steve they were very high and did not know when they could do it. When it was time to replace our Ivan roof (from 2004) I contacted 6 different companies. Only three responded with quotes and I chose to use SEC.
