The Atmosphere of the restaurant was very dark and gloomy. The waiter was overwhelmed with our party of 12 people. Which was very concerning considering we were the only customers in the whole restaurant. When ordering hors d'oeuvres they told us they they ran out of salad, for this being such a high rated Yelp restaurant, I strongly don't agree with that and would give it a rating if a 2. We ended up only having our hors d'oeuvres and drinks and left the restaurant to go to another restaurant. Second time there. LOVED THE FIRST TIME. Reservations at 5:30. Other patrons consisted of 4 top and 2 top. Already seated and drinks. 2 ladies at front bar. Thursday early evening pouring rain. *waited 10 minuted for water *waited 15 minuted for drinks. 1 mixed, 1 water *after ordering food.. 35 minutes-2 Med rare ribeyes- both cold. Herbed butter would not melt, bartender came to use a torch to melt the butter... Alfredo pasta: sauce broken and separated, brown, no garlic or cheese flavor. Then had to ask two times, two diff people for the bill.. Waiter complaining of no servers, he himself was a bartender. Really sad as Visalia needs another nice steak/italian place that is not only gravitating to a younger crown like the many breweries in town. We need another place llike little Italy or Tommy's. I heard about Sebbys months ago. Their menu intrigued me and I could not wait to taste their food. My husband and I saved up to go have a special post-Valentine's meal. We were seated right away. The staff was friendly and nice. Our server was also the bar tender so he was not very attentive. We were there for 2 hours and he would check on us once every 30 minutes or so. We ordered the caprese salad, the brusetta, the crab cakes, the scallop risotto, and the ribeye steak. Our appetizers came out one at a time with 20 mins in-between. Our entrees arrived about an hour and a half after placing our order. The scallop risotto was so bad I sent it back. The appetizers were subpar, we took one bite of each. My husband never got his fries. I would not go back. Paid $124 for a disappointing meal. First time I've ever left a restaurant without leaving a tip. Bar tender should not double as a server. Went here for my 60th birthday. The owner Ramez was our waiter. I had the filet mignon with cognac sauce. The meat was like butter. It was tender, easy to cut and the cognac sauce was outstanding. I also had the Cajun crab cakes. Delicious. I ordered a side of poblano bacon mac. Wow. For dessert my wife and I split a tiramisu. My wife had a caprese salad chicken marsala with fettuccine. Worst service ever. It seems as though they want to be cheap and won't hire staff. Our meals took almost an hour to arrive. Half of the 4 plates we ordered were cold. We enjoyed a date night at Sebby's. This was our first time here since the change of owners. Richard, the general manager was our server and the service was excellent. We started with a pork belly appetizer which was delicious and had a sweet and spicy flair. The entrees we tried were the braised short ribs and rib eye steak. Both were delicious. Sebbys is a refreshing newer restaurant in Visalia's downtown. They have a great location with lots of close parking. They feature walls of artworks all from local artists which you can purchase. The food is top notch, our dinner was served very well by our waiter, who also owns the place. We had a pleasant time with him and left knowing we will be coming back often. Our reservation got cancelled at one of our favorites, so we came here hoping for a seat on a Valentine's Day. The place has gotten a major face lift, the ambience is better, even the decor is more upscale. The GM was able to make it happen and get us a table. We waited and had a drink for no more than 10 minutes, and then our server, the actual owner of the restaurant, took our order. His waiting was impeccable, the food, oh my goodness the food!!! It was fantastic. I cannot say enough about how fantastic our experience was, all due to the fantastic general manager, and the owner himself. We will be returning customers on the regular now. One of the most amazing meals I've ever had. My mom had the filet, I had the rosemary lamb, and my dad has the chicken Marsala. We licked our plates. The vegetables that they put on the side of the meal were joyful and delicious - fresh and cooked perfectly - truly divine. Local Central Valley wines paired perfectly with the meal cooked her. This was our second visit to Sebby's and we can't wait to go back. This time we started with happy hour before moving to the dining area for dinner. Kennedy is the best bartender and server, she is sweet, knowledgeable and attentive, give the woman a raise, she took care of us all night long. Happy hour prices can't be beat, drinks are delicious, the decor is a major upgrade from the previous restaurant, the food is fabulous- we had the New York steak last time, and this time our party enjoyed the filets, chicken piccata and the salmon, oh and don't forget the charcuterie!
