The reviews for this place did not steer us the wrong way. I called in and ordered 9 sandwiches/subs, and there was not a single mistake, and on the phone they told us it would take about 30 mins and they were right on the money. Every single one of us loved what we ordered. I got the Caprese Panini (and I added turkey). SO GOOD. Highly recommend. The servings are huge and the panini was so flavorful. Big fan!

Let's start at the beginning- Just because the roll-down…read moredoor is closed doesn't mean the bagel shop is closed. That was my first error as I went by this place a handful of times. It's wasn't until I saw someone emerge from the double doors to the left of the roll-down that I realized that the business was open. Not that they need any help getting people inside (it was HOPPING) but a sandwich board outside perhaps would show that the business is open inside? I went in and immediately everyone was friendly and chipper. Ordering was simple enough but be prepared, they sell through some things, understandably as this place is very popular. I got an espresso and a toasted herb bagel with plain cream cheese. Ive been all over Bath, Brunswick, Rockland, and Camden and was convinced that the New Englander's palates were shot. Not a single business has served me a decent espresso. Not a single one until I stopped at Dutchman's. FINALLY a bright, clean shot that doesn't taste like someone put a cigar out in it. Everyone needs to take notes. THEN we get to the bagel....didn't think I was about to have the best bagel of my life, yet here I am. Light, toasted, slightly chewy but not heavy... jeez. Can we talk about the space? It's gorgeous. Airy, cool, industrial...but the people running it make it feel homey. We can talk about the restaurant they're putting in next door too but let's be realistic, if they use any of the blueprint they're currently operating off of, they're not going to have any issues (Omg the pizza oven!) The view alone will stop you in your tracks. I'm all in on Dutchman's. I bought the merch. I have a tee shirt and a beanie and the only reason I don't have a hoodie is because they were sold out in my size. What else is there to say... 10/10 No notes.

I was…read morekind of confused as to where it was based on where my GPS took me, but you can park in the back, or just walk through the building to find it. As soon as I walked up I was bummed to see they had no egg or cheese, which is what I was planning to order. Instead, I went with the Turkey Lurkey. It's not something I'd typically order but it was delicious. It was a bit messy so eating it in the car was a mistake lol. I also got a cold brew coffee. My order was $17 for those two things, which is expensive, but the quality of the food and coffee was very good and I'd much rather give my money to this business than a large corporation like Starbucks. I saw another review give 3 stars because they are comparing their bagels to NY/NJ style bagels. I'm originally from NJ, and yes I prefer those style bagels, but that is NOT what Dutchman's is going for. These are Wood-Fired bagels, and yes they do have a more bread like texture but I thought they were delicious and made for perfect sandwich bagels. I went on a Thursday morning and there was no line so service was quick. I was in and out in about 10 mins.

I would be giving this a 1-star if it was purely based on the staff interaction alone. Tell me why the tween at the register closest to the entrance when we ordered a little after 10AM today is smiles for miles with me, but when my wife asks if they have lattes or flavored coffee, this girl gets short with her? Also we really need to drop calling women "ma'am." I have not met a woman that likes that. So when this tween says "no ma'am we don't" in an annoyed tone with her how do you think she took that? My wife is 26 for context- so why some girl that is probably only a few years younger thinks that is appropriate is beyond me- it even made her cry after the interaction. In all my years of customer service I have only called women "miss." So anyways- this girl was rude and she should learn that you have to treat all parties equally- man or woman, and let them ask questions without being rude. You are a cashier- that is part of the job. If the business cares to track this, I have attached a photo of the receipt for you so that you may tell this girl that sort of behavior, no matter how large or small the interaction, really put a damper on someone's day. Think before you speak.

The main entrance has you walk through the multi-use space and then you get to the Bakehouse. I didn't see a menu but they had loaves of bread, everything bagels, cookies, muffins, scones and cupcakes that all looked very good. I can attest the blueberry muffin is very good because I got one in addition to my ham, egg and cheddar breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich menu on their website is a picture that you need to zoom in on to read. There are a bunch of options with steak, ham, bacon, various cheeses, garlic mayo, etc. but I went for a basic ham, egg and cheddar on one of their homemade English muffins. It was honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. The ham is sliced from the hock and not a measly thin deli slice plus is was still hot when I cracked into it at home. My husband got the steaky steak which he also said was potentially the best he's ever had and would give it a 5/5 for taste and 4/5 overall because of how messy it was. Definitely one that you can't put down after you pick it up. We definitely want to try other options next time. Some sandwiches come with a hash brown on it!
