I asked of there was any other traspo around that might help me with a grocery run and he told me about Mel - All Island Express Taxi. I called and Mel said she would make a pickup for me, even offered to do the shopping! I told her I would check out with Red Apple and it was a GO. I made an account, checked out, got the Red Apple email, Micheal pulled things together quickly and Mel drove the groceries down. VOILA! the plan went from concept to complete without a hitch. They offered to discount the bus by fifty dollars but that was the normal price for the party bus anyway!! After several frantic phone calls and some negotiation we eventually had to settle for the party bus at regular price. They had us at their mercy and they knew it. The woman we talked to on the phone kept making excuses, giving us the runaround, and not helpful at all. The party bus showed up on time driven by a nice guy named Dave. While Dave was pleasant and professional the party bus was anything but that! Lighting was falling off the wall, the air conditioner didn't work AT ALL, (it literally blew hot air the entire time) paint was bubbling on the ceiling and the ride was both rough and noisy. We kept asking for the air to be turned on or up and the response was "It may start working when we get to the freeway." Thirteen of us were squeezed in to this hot, noisy, uncomfortable black bus on a hot day. The driver was already smelling from the heat while the rest of us were sweating our socks off. I was genuinely concerned for the health of our elderly parents. Finally made it to our dinner cruise in downtown Seattle and had a fabulous evening. Per our arrangement, the owner of the company picked us up in the "now repaired" hummer limo. It was very nice inside and made us resent the party bus even more. However, once underway we found that the air conditioning didn't work correctly in this limo either. Although we had partial air and it was now night time, some of us were uncomfortable. The interior lighting was intermittent, also. Part of the way home the driver had to pull off the freeway because the headlights quit working. We sat in a parking lot while he and one of our group worked under the hood for a while and then finally gave up. We drove the last half hour with no headlights on backroads. Of course, it was just a matter of time before we were pulled over anyway. Fortunately, the police officer was understanding and we finished our trip home. Now, I'm a reasonable guy and understand things happen but there is no excuse for poor maintenance and shoddy equipment. The company and driver knew the air didn't work in the party bus (at least he got to roll his window down) and you had to be dead not to hear the transmission grinding and slipping. The party bus was a junker inside and out. I am honestly surprised we made it from South Everett to the Seattle waterfront. We tried to get the company to discount or comp us for the all the stress and discomfort we were put through but they were adamant that we pay full price and even had the audacity to add a $120 tip! At that point we gave up and chose to accept the inevitable. It wasn't worth ruining our evening over. It was the one sour note in an otherwise fabulous evening and birthday celebration. While the driver and owner were very nice, I would not do business with them again.

Sam, the driver, also kept in excellent contact with me and was extremely understanding when the wait between the ride there and the ride back was much longer than expected. Tara and Sam made it so easy for my office to pay for the ride for our client online. The ride total was less expensive than other local cab companies too. Our office plans to use Everettone Cab from now on. Very grateful for their excellent service!

Yes, THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. Then she got it down to 25K. That's when I started doing my research. I used several reputable companies for tours and hotels and my costs (with the EXACT same flights, hotels, tours) came in at TEN THOUSAND LESS. When I sent her the info and asked if she could look at it, because maybe I was doing something wrong, she wrote me a very interesting email. She said I wasn't comparing correctly because I used different hotels with different class ratings (uh, no, I used the EXACT same hotels). She also said I hadn't included transportation. I did - I went page by page of her quote and priced everything she included. She even went so far as to say she wasn't sure what company I used for a tour (even though I noted it on the spreadsheet). She said they were "some unknown company - good luck!" I've used Viator for dozens of tours, had a customer service issue once, and they have been fantastic. Her quote, "You cannot compare a high-end tour company with the likes of Viator." I did suggest a different hotel in my email but did not include it in my cost comparison. She told me it wasn't suitable and that it was a party hotel. Well she clearly didn't know her stuff there because that hotel came as a recommendation from a friend with two children! They loved it! Direct quote: "I can tell that the price point for the level of arrangements we do is not where you are comfortable spending. But I cannot delve into using random services of unvetted tour companies (Viator) and just booking the cheapest of everything- it never works out for our clients and in my experience only causes issues when in travel." Another, "In the end, I do want my clients' travels to be an unforgettable and memorable experience, and therefore, I cannot cut corners just to make it happen price wise." As a travel agent are you not supposed to get the best deal for your clients? You may warn them with your experiences but you don't make fun of them and tell your customer to basically F off! I asked her specifically if there was any markup because I was OK with something reasonable for her. She swore up-and-down there was no markup. Yes there is, it comes in kickbacks from the companies she uses. And again I am OK with a little something but not $10,000 and an F you attitude. Honestly if she had said so upfront - that she only uses certain companies - then I probably wouldn't have even engaged her for $400. But she never said that. And I POLITELY asked her to let me know why I was so far off. She could've told me all the same things - that she used more reputable companies and worked with the hotels themselves, without the attitude. Snotty and condescending. Unbelievable.
