Logistical disasters abounded! Went on a "luxury wine and food tour" that was 50% luxury and 50% motel six. The five day stretch in the middle was a bumbling mix of terrible winery, a jolly tour guide who knew nothing about food or wine, a moldy hotel bathroom and endless hours on a small bus. Had to pay extra for a suite and then had our suite given away to another couple on the tour - with no offering of a refund until we called it to their attention. Fortunately the first hotel was lovely and the last three days saved the whole trip. I paid way too much money for such mediocre service and accommodations and transportation. I recently worked with Eric on preparing our honeymoon trip and I'm so happy to have been able to work with him! We had originally planned every detail in February-April for travel in October to Hawaii. After the fire in Maui, Eric kept the communication open and gave us updates as he received everything on his end. We ended up changing our plans and he made sure to clear everything with all of the travel quickly which we appreciated! When changing plans, we had to rebook each excursion so the process started over but we knew what we wanted to do and it was all booked within the week and the plans were set and ready to go. Leading up to the trip, my mom contacted Eric as a surprise to us to upgrade our flights. He assisted my mom and helped her surprise us with this upgrade. She enjoyed working with him and found the process super easy on her end while working with Eric. We had one incident come up from our rental car company and Eric instantly got on it and is working on getting the additional charge resolved for us. Eric was very helpful in coordinating our trip to Maui. I spent months communicating with him about islands, hotels, flights etc. When we thought everything was set, Maui was hit by the fires. He was very patient while we decided if we wanted to cancel or find a new island. He went above and beyond to get all options to me so we could make a decision. In the end, we chose to stay on Maui at a different location. I'm so glad we did. It was absolutely beautiful and it was exactly what I was hoping for when choosing Maui. My wife and I recently returned from a marvelous Viking ocean cruise which originated in San Juan, Puerto Rico and sailed across the Atlantic to Barcelona, Spain. Our wonderful friend and travel agent, Eric Vijfhuizen, , arranged the entire trip based upon destinations we wanted to visit as well as adding quite a few. We met Eric a number of years ago when we wanted to go to Hawaii for a family trip. He and I hit it off right away and have become good friends and converse regularly. Eric is a detail oriented person and takes care of flight reservations, advance special requests on board the plane and at the destination airports, hotels , excursions at the destination and many other details. We began the trip in San Juan and stayed at the San Juan Caribe HIlton on the beach. The next day we sailed to St. Maarten and arrived early morning and met friend of Eric's who he had arranged to have tour us around the island and explore the Dutch and French parts of the island. We concluded with a light lunch at a popular local bistro and then back to the ship as it was departing late afternooon to begin the journey to Barcelona. We had 6 glorious days at sea before docking at Cadiz. At the point we took a tour bus on a two hour ride to Seville where we got an overview of the city and then had time on our own to walk and see the city with directions to return to the bus by 3 pm for our trip back to the ship. My wife and I along with newly met friends, chose to take a "hop on hop off" bus to see the highlights of the city and ensure that we'd make it back to me meeting point at the designated time. I ventured to the Alcazar, which is a Moorish fortress built in 913. What a view of the city ! When the ship departed we headed for Valencia, Spain and were at sea for a day before arriving Valencia early on March 27th. We boarded a bus to the small village of Palmar on the Gulf of Valencia to take a small fishing boat ride on the freshwater lagoon within the Albufera Natural Park- 52,000 acres of wetlands. The boats are handmade by local artisans and powered by gas engines. Watch your head or it will be claimed by a tunnel.. ! Upon docking, we walked to a local restaurant where the owner started preparation of our Paella lunch. This is quite a treat to observe the preparation of the orange wood fire and the huge cast iron pan that is large enough to make 35 servings of Paella. We are told that the restaurant has different size pans for various numbers of guests. I was fortunate to be able to partake in the stirring of the chicken thighs and then a glass of wine while waiting for the completion of the meal preparation. We enjoyed the meal outside as the weather was in the mid 60's at Noon. We then returned to the ship for our final departure to Barcelona . Arrived Barcelona on the 28th and did a self guided walking tour. The following day was the HIGHLIGHT of the trip, as my wife and I took a 12 hour bus tour from Barcelona to Baga, Spain; then to Aux Les Thermes France then to the beautiful country of Andorra. We were fortunate to have the front seat which enabled a perfect view of where we were going including mountain ranges and hairpin curves overlooking sharp dropoffs . In Andorra, the slopes were still hosting skiiers. The small villages had cobblestone streets and gorgeous homes. Our sincere thanks to Eric for his expertise in arranging this exquisite trip and following our journey. The entire crew aboard the Viking Sea was so much fun to be around and talk with. The service was 5 Stars all around. We will continue to use Eric Vijfhuizen at 58 STARS for future travel and hope that he will join us on one of our trips. read more

I can't even begin to describe what a blessing it was to have 58 Stars travel agency on board while planning my once-in-a-lifetime trip to Hawaii!!! This was going to be my first visit to Hawaii, my first ever solo trip, and a celebration for me as I had finally completely rid myself of a very toxic and controlling ex who had been a nightmare for me for years. Taking this trip to a place I had wanted to experience all of my life, marked the beginning of a promise I had made to myself to invest in *me* for a change, so of course, with all of that in consideration, I wanted to make this trip very special and memorable. Passport Travel&Tours is a great agency, I would highly recommend Patty as she is very well organised and attention to details. I have a very long and complicated travel plan to Europe this summer and she has been helping me with all the hotels, flights, trains, guided tour booking since earlier this year. She always respond my email and phone call promptly. I have a train ticket booked under a wrong name and she waited hours on the phone to communicate with the Eurostar operators. Eventually she made my loss to a minimum amount. Patty is also very knowledge and she is obviously an Europe expert, she recommended the best croissant cafe around my hotel in Paris and she also showed me the summer temperature in Italy by saying that her daughter's sandals were melted on the road.
