My daughter wants to be an actress and singer. I took her to one of those "Do you want to be on "Shake it Up"? scams at a hotel. They wanted from 1900 to 6000 for 3 days at Disney World (but not sponsored by Disney) to train and showcase your child. So I searched for somewhere in Seattle, I found Seattle Talent. They have been in business for a long time. They have permanent offices in the Macy's building. They were professional and up front about everything. They have many different programs for different children's aspirations. Even if your child is looking for a smidgen of self confidence, they have something for that. They demand professional attire and behavior from their clients. They prepare parents and coach the clients, what more can you ask for? Of course training costs a fee. Considering what I have spent on piano and voice lessons I would expect it. read more

A complete scam. My experience with them was horrible. We were all put into a room where they talked about all their success stories, yeah there may have been some but it wasnt thanks to them. Half of everyone around didnt even look qualified enough to be in there. Later that day i auditioned they liked what they saw and called me back later. The next day i was directed to the same room but instead of a bunch of people it was just me and their "agents" they tried to sell me 5000$ dollar classes!! No matter how many times i declined they wouldnt except it. I already had a coach. They even tried to sell me vocal lessons, im already expert at it. They wouldnt even give me time to warm up before i did my song then. Bottom line is, it dosent matter how good you are at your audition the only way they make their money is by scaming you. Seattle Talent is an astounding place for children or any talented person trying to break through into the acting model and talent industry or someone who just needs confidence.. My son has been an active member of this talent agency for numerous amounts of years. We have had some of the best experiences. We started out with a workshop of commercial print my son had such fun learning commercials and memorizing lines graduating to fashion model and print where at the end of this workshop they get to do their own little photo shoot and get the photos. He has auditioned for numerous agency's and even received and honorable mention which means that if we were in the vicinity of LA they would have allowed him to audition again. He has done a few jobs with Zulily. Seattle talent has a great reputation of doing as they say. When I fell ill they were still their to work with my family so that my son could do his workshops. I was emailing them back and forth and received quick replies back. If I had a question and I needed some assistance there was always a lovely receptionist to answer the phone and find the correct person to answer my question or if they didn't know the answer they would take my number and find someone who could assist me and I would receive a prompt phone call back. David is an amazing representative for my son and I would not have chosen anyone but the best, The whole staff team at Seattle Talent is so helpful and willing to go that extra mile for you. Anyone that you get the opportunity to work with you will not regret it, I am truly grateful for Seattle Talent who travels all around to help those who want to break through into the industry or just give a kid back his confidence. They recently heard that my son was hit by a car and reached out to me to help this child get his confidence back from the road rash that is on his face and black eyes that he has. If you check the phone # with the Better Business Bureau you will find that Seattle Talent is actually a John Robert Powers school. They make their money selling coaching and dreams, and do not "represent" clients who do not buy their expensive coaching packages. Look up John Robert Powers on Wikipedia for an idea of how JRP has been doing the same since my grandmother's day. The rep I spoke to was not honest about how the agency makes its money - through selling you coaching. Were they actual talent or model agents, they would make a commission based on your work, not demand money up front. Buyer beware. Real agents, real modeling agencies, do not make you pay for representation up front. They take a commission off of the work they find for you. read more

My daughter auditioned on Saturday, got the call back, and went in on Sunday. We arrived 15 minutes early, waited another hour, past our appointment time (no biggie things happen), the representative came out and called our daughters name, then mistakenly pulled another group in. When we approached the receptionist, she said that yes, you were next... but did nothing but give us a blank stare and say, "You can go tell them if you want...". My wife and I approached the group and the representative, but her attitude was indifferent at best to her mistake. There was no apology or move to correct the mistake. We decided to leave, if this is what Seattle Talent is about, we are out. Our $5k will be better spend elsewhere. read more

So this is a business and a SCHOOL they are training your child to be in show business. If you look at it that way then this is a bargain. You get acting lessons, headshot, makeover, 3 song cd demo and the chance to rub noses with LA talent agents all for under $5000 (2016 prices and they can and do change). That is a small price to pay just for the coaching alone. People give negative reviews because they expect instant fame. They think tomorrow they will get that hit TV show. No you have to put in the time and effort. Also no company is gonna pay an no name actor to come and audition. At first you are gonna have to front those costs. Once you have done stuff and have your name out there then you will me flown places to audition. On the coaching bit it looks bad if an agent sends you out with out getting some coaching. It can ruin their reputation when they send out kids with out the discipline to sit through or knowledge of how the process works they need to train you so that their best is shown. Fame and fortune are no where promised when you sign up. You are told but the work in and it can take years then you may see results. read more

If you are willing to fork over thousands of dollars, drop everything at a drop of dime, and pay all of your own expenses for travel... pay your own air fair, hotel, food, ect... to places. Seattle talent is also known as JRP. They have been honest with me at all times. They have never promised me anything and have always given me the pros and cons from every situation. They will take you seriously when you take them seriously. This isn't a hobby it's a career. They do express that they will try as much as you....if you are ready to have a serious career in the entertainment business then they are a great fit. Ouch, what a bunch of amateurs! We went to a scouting event together with lots of families. First time after scheduling it, they forgot to email me about the time change. Second time they DID email and call that they changed the time. Again. Well, the agency is full of young, barely college age kids who are very outspoken about how they hate work. When the time came to take the photos, well, let's just say they were passing the job to each other - NOBODY wanted to lift their a...s off the chairs and lift a finger. SCAM!!! Don't fall for this! They are playing on your child's dreams. They suck you in by making you think you are taking your child to an audition. They give you an exciting spiel dangling the possibility of fame and money and then barely looks at your child. They give this song and dance about how they will only call a few children they think have potential. Bull! Then they hit you with an outrageous amount of money. I auditioned with Seattle Talent Last year (January 2015) and was told that I have not only the talent for acting but also the look for modeling. I purchased a $500 2 day acting class (definitely not worth it). I started to audition for them right away. I got my first commercial gig in November of 2015. Since then I have done 3 more commercials through them. It is now pretty much March and I haven't gotten a dollar from them. From the 4 commercials I did for them (about $1000 worth of work) they refuse to pay me. Every time I ask, they come up with a new excuse of why I haven't gotten paid. At first it was a W9 problem and after Sending them 4 copies of my W9 they told me that my checks where lost because they had my maiden name on it?!? Not sure how that happened but mistakes happen. I was told that now that they knew the problem, they would send it out right away! 3 weeks later, and after doing another paid gig for them, I find myself in my attorneys office discussing a suit for wage theft. For anyone considering them, if you want experience in this industry they have good connections and if you respond to the auditions you have a good chance of getting some. But as far as getting paid (I did acting/modeling full time for various agencies in town) they will find every excuse of why they can't seem to pay you your commission even though they have received the checks from the production companies. They will accept ANYONE into their scam and feel your head with "your child is amazing", "we have never seen anyone as special as your child" and than once they suck you in they ask for an absurd amount of money. If you do not have the money up front then they will provide you with a chance to get the money for them either by payments or by other things like that. If I could give this agency zero stars I would. I called their main office just now 5/25/14 and spoke with Dallas who claimed he was the Office Manager. I scheduled an appointment for my son to go to their talent search from the 800 number on the radio and the woman told me that she would be emailing me a script for my son to study for his audition on Saturday after an hour I still had not received the email so I called the number back. Another woman answered and told me that they had no way to look up the email they sent the scripted to or no way to resend the script and she told me to call the main office. Well after talking to Dallas - the office manager we have decided against going to the event Saturday. Dallas was extremely rude constantly talking over me. I explained that I needed to know if he could resend the script and he said that it would be sent at 6:45p or 7p tonight. I said, "you may want to tell your staff that since the first and second representatives I spoke with stated that I should receive the email immediately." He said very rudely, THEY KNOW! I said what is your name, and he hung up in my face. I called back and when he eventually answered very sarcastically, he was argumentative and very unprofessional! I asked what his name was again and he eventually said Dallas, then changed it and said his name was Jessie. He was talking while I was talking and so I had to ask several times. Then when I asked who was over him he just kept telling me that he was the office manager as though there was no one over him. Finally he gave me what he said the owner's name was, Hank Ritter. I then was telling him that I would be writing in to let the owner know how rude he was and that maybe he shouldn't be the office manager representing Seattle Talent, since the first impression he has given was horrible he then cursed at me under his breath (saying the b-word) and hung up in my face again! I am still going to be writing in. They seem very underhanded and I would be very leery of signing any contracts with them. I think we dodged a bullet today getting Dallas, prior to wasting my precious family time dealing with people like him! read more

Really bad expierence first they bring you in they tell you about how a lot of actor started with there agency with I did a research and was false!! Then and give you an interview with your child and then you child alone with a scrip too see how well he or she does on remembering the lines. After that they tell you call tomorrow between 12:00 to 12:30 to find out your result and then they start pressuring you too buy a package staring at 2,150 which is insane! And is the cheapest one the highest is 5,000 so totally do not recommend Seattle talent agency! You with regret it. read more

You must know what you are getting when you decide to try Seattle Talent. This is not a traditional talent agency that simply represents you on acting jobs. Those agents are mostly looking for talent that has already had some training and is ready to work. Seattle Talent is a training agency. They represent you in the Northwest region, yes, but their main focus is to get you ready to be signed by agents in bigger markets. The cost for training makes some gag, but I added up what I have put into ballet, gymnastics and sports and found that the cost is comparable to each of these, you just pay it up front. We started in May 2015, and by November my 8 year old has gone from zero experience outside a couple community plays to 2 short film roles, multiple modeling projects and call backs from some pretty big agents. Seattle is not a huge paid filming town, so don't expect big bucks thrown out here. Do expect very good training and lots of opportunities to be seen by top industry professionals. This is a career. Don't expect success without time, talent and serious investment. It's not magic. Make sure you and your child are ready to work hard. Also, make sure your child has a true passion for the craft before pursuing acting. It is not for casual curiosity seekers or simply pretty faces. We think Seattle Talent rocks! read more
