Been a member for a while! I do all the services- sauna pod, red light bed, red light photo facial and tanning beds. My mom does the spray tans and comes out looking great! If you want a spa service book the appointment on the website to ensure you're booked and minimal time waiting. Beds are clean, the place is clean! I have an unlimited package but my dad has a red light monthly plan and gets the discount on tanning beds. Their yearly 50% sale is a good time to stock up on lotions and packages if you need, I think it's July and August. Otherwise it's affordable if you come regularly! read more

Have come here a few times over the years and always had a good experience but today was.. weird. I waited for about 15-20 minutes. No one at the desk. Someone's phone was going off in the employee room the entire time. I called out a few times to no response... I eventually crept back to the employee room to see what was going on and found someone sleeping back there. Their phone was the one going off the entire time. I felt way too awkward to try to wake the person up. Their phone was going off the entire time so clearly they're just a really deep sleeper I guess? I have visited a few Seattle Sun Tan locations in the last few years. Kirkland and Ballard staff are extremely friendly. U Village gals are more reserved and to-the-point, which is fine as well. My last visit was to their location at Redmond Town Center. Taylor was just the sweetest superstar. If you're looking for a way to kill your business, look no further than Seattle Sun Tan. Their website lets you select a day for an airbrush treatment, but not a time, so you must call and speak to a receptionist. We did that and booked two appointments. When we showed up, they had no record of the appointments, and did not have anyone on site who could even perform an airbrush treatment. She said if we wanted to wait 30 minutes or so (how long?) they could have someone come in. We did not trust them to wait. How do you have a business that can't take a reservation, advertises for airbrush treatments and then has no one who can help you? I guess we are not very important to the owners. read more

My wife and I bought a package deal from Seattle tan and also got a month membership They have such a complicated pricing program that we had to ask how many sessions we had left weekly my wife asked the girl at the counter how many we had left she told my wife she had 4 sessions left and I had five we each used two after that I went in the next time thinking I had three left I was told I did not have any left. The girl at the front desk said the other employee did not tell us our month had run out so the package we had bought tripled in price for our remaining sessions so we had used up all the remaining sessions. When I talked to the Manager I even tried to compromise with her on paying the rate we were paying for the remaining sessions ,she put a big NO on that one and said we would have to buy a new package. Will not be doing business with this establishment again P.S way over priced read more

One of the best parts of my birthday yesterday was meeting Katie. I've been a member at Seattle Sun Tan for 8 or 9 years now, and I routinely spray tan every Monday and Thursday night. I recently moved and went to my new location (Kirkland -Totem Lake area) and was told their power was going to be shut off. As I rushed to the next closest location (Redmond) I called to make sure they'd still let me in if I got there just before closing. From the moment Katie answered my call to the moment I left the shop, she was incredible. Katie is calming, friendly, understanding and provides outstanding customer service. I had one of those moments where you think "people really are good." Throughout the years I've found most of the girls at various salons to be pleasant, but no one has come close to Katie. She knew I'm a regular at another location and had nothing to gain, yet she treated me like a close friend. I guess my location "losing power" was a blessing in disguise! read more

Rude rude rude upsell rude rude rude. I am getting ready to escape the dreary, gray summer that is Seattle and head to warmer climes, so I took advantage of a Groupon special for a month of unlimited tanning so I dont fry next month. I had gone to Seattle Sun Tan at Redmond Tan Center once a couple of years ago and was so turned off by how rude and pushy they were, I vowed never to return. I went back this week and reaffirmed my previous opinion. I went in and provided them with the coupon, and was then made to endure a 10 minute tour of all the great beds (5 different levels) they offer, with constant pressure to upgrade the deal I had bought. Normally, I'd gladly do this but the sales pitch was so intense, it pissed me off and I told the woman helping me I'd just stick with the basic. Twice after that she gave me a concerned look and said "Are you SURE?" Yes, I'm sure. At that point, she turned into pure attitude, entered my information and pointed me down the hall to the room. I went back in yesterday and was given more attitude by another girl working there. I appreciate that some people work commission and that it's hard to sell in this economy, but hello! If you arent a bitch about it, you might get more sales. Did you ever wonder what happened to the Mean Girls from high school who didnt go on to college? Wonder no more. BEWARE of their membership deal because in order to cancel that you have to make an appearance in the store AND make it in about 2 weeks before it charges your card again so that "corporate has time to process it". At this point I wasn't really upset with their bushiness, they seemed like a company that would make you do a run-around like that so I came in, signed the cancellation paper AND even paid for an additional month that I wash't going to use. Fast forward 5 months. I notice the membership wasn't cancelled so I called them and after about a week of back and forth, I got corporates phone number. Come to find out "Corporate" is just ONE girl name Jesse. So your big bad corporate needs 2 weeks to cancel my membership, I would still love an explanation as to why it takes someone 2 weeks to cancel a credit card payment? But moving on. Because I didn't have a copy of my cancellation paperwork (from 5 months ago) they weren't going to refund my money. She was even the one that noted that I hand't used any of their salons for about 5-6 months and had a credit. So then why is it so difficult to refund somebody their money for services they clearly didn't use? I get your in the business of making money but you should also CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS because this is one that will NEVER be back to Seattle Sun Tan. Sure, if I had a membership knowingly, I would use it but your staff seems incompetent enough to process paperwork and I feel like i'm not the only person you guys have scammed into paying not just 1 additional month but MULTIPLE. I know I am partly to blame because I didn't double check their work and check my account at the end of the month but I have multiple EFT accounts and its very easy to miss a $25 charge. Very clean and spacious. The pricing is a little higher than I'm used to from being out of state, but they do run a lot of specials very often. I usually never have to wait for a room. If I do, it's like 10mins or so. The only thing stopping the last star is that the service really depends on who you get. Most of the time, it's just standard. Not overly great, not overly bad. Just standard. Every now and then I get a really nice front desk associate and they're very helpful and upbeat. I do wish they would play music or something. The first time I went in I sat and waited for about five minutes with three other customers. The girl working finally came back to the store with coffee in her hand-it looks like she took a break and just left the store? Weird if you ask me. She was SUPER pushy and I won't be back. They should hire friendlier staff who gives good customer service. Also, the towels looked disgusting, torn and old. I would think for what they charge they could offer you nicer and more clean towels. They do offer free water and are open from 8-10 daily which is nice. Two words. Airbrush Tan. I'm pregnant and can't use regular beds, so I fork out 45 for an airbrush after debating over the spraytan for just 20. The girl was extremely nice to me. And everything was great, Until the next day. My tan was blotchy orange and weird. It looked like a strange skin condition. (I waited 6 hours before showering.) I needed a close tanning salon and the Dessert Sun Salon suddenly closed. I remember Redmond Town Center having a tanning salon, thus I went there on a rainy afternoon. WOW! I can't believe there are bad reviews. I had a WONDERFUL experience. Lauren, a young, fresh, professional, and friendly staff member showed me all the beds and tanning salon packages. She explained the monthly membership contract clearly and laid out the best options for me. Even as other customers entered the salon, she still carried a professional and friendly attitude. All I have to say is SO MUCH BETTER THAN DESERT SUN!!! I am preparing for a trip to Mexico and wanted to get a good base tan before I left. I have always gone to Desert Sun before so I stopped in to get a package before my trip. When I got there the girl working was outside smoking with a friend. When she came in, she informed me I would have to sign up for a monthly package and that it was $20 to sign up today. It was going to cost way more than anything I had ever paid at DS before so I left and tried Seattle Sun Tan. The girl who helped me was SO nice and the salon was super nice and clean. They have 5 different levels of beds to attain different results. You start in a level 5 which is an amazing bed that allows you to tan evenly and completely and builds the base without burning. You move your way down until you are just maintaining in a 1 or 2 level bed. They also do the monthly membership program ($25/month) however you don't have to pay an initial fee and you can put your membership on hold at anytime. It costs $5 a month while on hold but when you reactivate you get store credit for what you spent while on hold. I have been to 3 of the Seattle Sun Tan's and they are all super nice, clean places and you get a free water bottle when there :) Also, they aren't franchised like DS so if you get a package it will work at any of them and not just the one you signed up at. Check for coupons online for a week free and you will get free upgrades to any level when you sign up! read more

I snagged a Groupon deal for a $10 month-long membership for Level 1 & 2 beds. This location is right by my work, so when I need a dose of vitamin D I can pop in here on my lunch break. It's nice and clean with plenty of beds and options. The salespeople are pushy, but when aren't they in a tanning salon? I only got the upgrade pitch when I first went in, and since then it's been smooth sailing. Walk in, give my name, the length of time I want to spend in the bed, confirm that I have my goggles and I'm set. Far more pleasant than Desert Sun. read more

LOVE the space age style "high density" beds. If you're tanning yourself into a tooled Western saddle look like I am, do yourself a favor and check these things out. Tanning is fun again! Oh they have the normal beds too and then something in between - I believe they number them with point values commiserate with your tanning package - and there's something for every tanning taste! I only wish I could visit more...I work in Woodinville so it's a long lunch to stop in and partake but a worthy trip! I am impressed with the quality of this place. Located upstairs across from Macys, it's open from 8am-10pm which is awesome, considering the rest of Redmond Town Center closes at 9pm usually. The spacious, clean and modern tanning salon has a nice seating area and good quality tanning rooms. I'm currently using a free 1 week tanning special and like how even the conventional beds are high quality. The one I used had a freakishly bright and strong face tanner built-in (which you can turn off) and there are 3 fans along the side and one at the feet to make sure that you don't sweat. Can't wait to go back - must get a decent tan before I head down to LA for my best friend's wedding! read more

You all who are giving one or two stars are crazy. I've been tanning here for years. Yes, I have run into a few issues here and there, like at any other place of business, but they were always quick to resolve those issues and did so with the customer in mind. I love that every time I walk in, someone is there to greet you and welcome you. Willing to explain products, but not too pushy. They make you feel like they want you to have a good experience in their salon. Throughout all the new employees or my tanning hiatus', I still feel welcomed each and every time I come in (which is not every day, unless their is an event coming up). Currently, I'm tanning for my wedding. I also work odd hours, so I sleep all day, making it difficult to actually get tan during the summer with natural sunshine. The ladies here know what I'm trying to work for and they are so accommodating and willing to give suggestions or answer questions, in a kind manner. One girl in particular, Taylor, has been so wonderful. I really have no idea how she is getting the reviews she is. From the first time I came in to tan while she was there, she has been so kind and so willing to help. Since that first time, she has remembered who I was and already has me ready to go by the time that I get up to the counter - I just need to tell her what I want to do, for how long, and a little bit about my day! She always wants to make sure I'm having a good day. It's so awesome how great of customer service she has shown me. I went to Hawaii over New Years and had been tanning for that. When I got back, I didn't go in for a while because I was already pretty dark from Hawaii and I typically don't go in unless its for special occasions. Anyway, she was so excited for me to tell her about my trip, months later. I thought it was crazy that she even remembered! The other ladies in there are awesome too! Always so nice. I went into this location with a coupon for level 2 sunbed for $10 for a new customer. I called in before I went to make sure there was no catch or maybe a fine print that I didn't read. They stated that it was $10 as long as you were a new customer. I went in and showed the girl at front desk the coupon and she tried to upsell me on everything when I told her I just wanted that and nothing else. She was super snobby and told me that I couldn't buy the promotion if I didn't buy the whole other list of other things. I told her that I just got off with another associate who stated I didn't have to purchase anything else. She told me that I was informed wrong and that she can't honor that. I was very kind to her and was never rude to begin with. I then called another location nearby and they said I did not have to buy anything else. So I purchased it there. I have went back to the Redmond location since then because it is closer to me. she is still not friendly. It's just not very professional and the customer service really does lack . read more

I drove in from Seattle the first time to cancel because they require IN PERSON cancellations and then they said they could suspend the membership and then charge another $5 per month. Then I called to cancel the membership a second time and they said I have to drive in from Seattle a SECOND TIME because they require IN PERSON cancellations. Then they charged another $5 per month anyway because they said they require IN PERSON AND TWO WEEKS notice. This is unacceptable customer service. read more

The beds are very nice and high tech. The location is great and everything is very clean. Reasonably priced... but after my 5th visit I have some opinions. Most of the staff (including the manager) are very unfriendly. It's like they hate their jobs. Sure, working at a tanning salon probably isn't the best job in the world but if you CHOSE to work in the customer service industry, part of your job requirement is to be kind to customers and make them feel welcome. Definetely not the case here. Every tanning business that I have spent my money at has employed very friendly upbeat people. The employees are great, very kind and welcoming. But the product is awful. I am not new to spray tans, so I know to exfoliate before, lotion on elbows ankles etc etc. Also the employee that sprayed me was very careful and sprayed thoroughly. So that is why I believe the product is at fault. I spent $50 on a spray tan for a big event. In return, I got bronzed armpits and fronts of my thighs, and no change in color anywhere else. read more

My God do I ever hate this place. The girls in there made me feel bad when EVERYTIME I would go in there, they would try to upsell my package. I explained EVERYTIME that I was a college kid and couldn't afford $60 a month. But that wasn't it. I had a HUGE issue with them. I kept getting withdraws from my account every month for $30. I had NO clue why until one month I called and it said it was from SST. This was August, I went in there and asked to cancel my account in May for upcoming June. APPARENTLY the girl didn't input it in the machine, so I kept getting charged. When i called the girl said "Well, you signed a contract saying you can't cancel it til you sign another cancellation contract." WEll, here's the catch, I'm a law student, I know how to read contracts, and I read them for EACH ONE that I sign. It was NOWHERE in that contract. Nowhere did I see that. Not to mention, the girl didn't even want me to read it and gave me a rude look when I wanted to. I never was given anything to sign when I was done. What was I supposed to do? REach over the counter and get one? I think not. It's their job to give me a cancellation contract, don't you think? Especially if they aren't going to mention in in their sign up contract. After a long battle with corporate, I got my 2 months of money back. Oh yeah, this was after I threatened with legal action. No company should be considered good if they have to be threatened to be sued. read more

Ok, I feel horrible because I can't remember the girls name, but it was a girl with brown hair with a sweet and loving personality who was doing airbrush tans on 9 Aug 2013 in the evening. Wholly Crap, She was so fricken nice! I was nervous and thought I would be uncomfortable but she was SO nice. I wish I lived closer so I could continue coming back there to see her. They accomodated me the same day and she really was just so professional and kind. If you live close to here, this should be your go to tanning salon! read more

My skin is naturally very, very pale, so I was nervous to try tanning. On my first visit, the woman explained in detail how the membership pricing and packages work. She then explained the safer options that were available to me with my fair skin and went through all the details of prepping for and maintaining a tan. I felt like she was very knowledgeable, polite and friendly. Every time I have been back since then, it has been a quick and delightful experience. The staff is always very friendly and willing to answer all of my questions. I mostly use the VersaSpa and I absolutely love the results! After the first time, I was totally hooked. The color is great and it doesn't fade in weird splotches. My only regret is that I didn't start coming here sooner because having some color has made a world of difference with my confidence and this salon definitely put my fears of tanning to rest. read more

I started tanning here a really long time ago, but when I started the girls were so mean and rude when I asked them questions and they don't care when you say no to their item, they none stop try to sell you stuff. I just want to go there, buy what I need and say hi to a nice worker, I would never recommend going to seattle sun tan, especially when the blonde short haired girl is working or the bigger brown haired girl. So rude to their customers, I was appalled at the things she was saying to girl in front of me because she didn't want to buy her lotion... Horrible people at this place.
