I'm a long time customer of Seattle Sun Tan (used to be an employee), and I still love coming to tan and use the spa services on a regular basis. I bounce around between locations, but I have to admit this is BY FAR my favorite location and I will absolutely drive the distance to come here. The staff is amazing--I'm always greeted by the sweetest ladies and I feel so comfortable when I'm here. The rooms and beds are always clean, the ambiance is fun and relaxing, and I've gotten to know the staff on a personal level which makes for an even more enjoyable experience. Huge shoutout to Hannah, Brennah and Brittany -- such wonderful employees that I see every time I come in and they never fail to make my day :) They are so well-educated on products and services and they always ensure I'm getting the best service possible. I just bought a membership with Desert Sun in Burlington & was planning to get a tan at this location but when I arrived I noticed it had changed names to Seattle Sun Tan. I talked to Brittany & explained my situation. She was extremely helpful & told me about the change of ownership etc.. and offered to switch my membership for me. I wasn't ready to do that yet, so she allowed me to get a tan anyway. I didn't expect that so was quite blown away by how helpful & accommodating she was! Tan was amazing & service was outstanding! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable here. When I just want to have 20 minutes relaxing they understand if I want something shorter but quieter they recommend a different bed. When I needed heat they told me about the pod. Oh so wonderful. read more

If you have skin issues COME HERE. I've tried EV-ER-Y THING to clear my eczema (I developed after moving to Seattle a year ago) and absolutely nothing has helped. Expensive lotions and steroid prescriptions from my doctor have actually made it worse. Immediately after using the red light therapy my skin began to clear up and although it's not completely clear it is 1000x better than it was before. read more

Yes, I tan. So kill me! but I don't look half bad :) AND i'm making sure to take care of my skin extra well! Just wanted to give my 2 cents about this place, because it really deserves some love. This location is very close to my work, so I am able to go during my lunch break. I have never once had to wait for a tanning bed, and the girls are super quick and super friendly. the beds are all clean and taken care of very well. I see Audrey every time I go, and she is not only knowledgeable, but an all-around cheerful and very nice person. I have the unlimited silver bed tanning package that is only about $18 a month, which I think is a steal. I don't need anything more than that because I am not looking to get really dark, but a nice base tan-which this package definitely does! and when you become a member, there are always random freebies that come and go throughout your membership, which is always nice. read more

Sooo ... this was my 2nd time tanning, EVER. The last time I was in a tanning bed was back in 2011 at a tanning salon in Issaquah, and I really only went this time around again just so I could get a tiny, tiny bit of color before I jet off to Hawai'i tomorrow. I didn't really know what I was doing, what to expect, but Christina (Kristina?) was incredibly helpful. She introduced herself, the other lady working at the time (totally forgot her name), gave me a tour of the salon, and explained how everything worked and what services Desert Sun offered. This is my favorite Desert Sun location in the Greater Seattle/Eastside area. The ladies are incredibly sweet and extremely knowledgable on their products and the tanning process. They have amazing products, good beds and great prices for every level of tanning. I am currently using a Groupon ($11 for a month of unlimited tanning) and fully intend on extending my membership once the promotion is up. They also participate in the Muscular Dystrophy Association Shamrock program, which I think is truly fantastic. I donated $10 to the MDA and received a $25 gift card to use on a future visit - amazing! read more

I go to this location just for the employees. I live in Sammamish and there is a salon about 5 minutes from me but I don't like that one cause they have some obnoxious teenage girls in there that are glued to their phones texting and talking. I prefer to come to the Overlake location in the morning. The employees that they have in the morning are super fantastic. Michelle...LOVE HER! They have a guy in there too in the morning...can't remember his name but he is a peach too. They are very nice and not pushy at all. They will tell you about any promos but they don't push you or make you feel bad for not buying. What most people don't understand is that they are all paid on commission and minimum wage. They have a daily sales goal....yes daily...not weekly or monthly. The salons are owned seperately which is they don't really transfer purchases from salon to salon unless the owner owns that salon as well. I've had zero problems with the employees that are there in the mornings and afternoons. I've heard the owner though call on the phone and start yelling at who ever picks up the phone....uncool move to do dude especially when it's during business hours. I've gone in after work and I don't like to do that. It gets super crowded after 4:30 but that's not their fault. The people in the evening are mostly younger...like teenagers. Some are good and some are bad. They can get pushy and rude when you don't buy from them. Some have their phones attached to their hands. I also find that some of the girls in the evening dress really really skanky. Do not wear short shorts and tall boots in January with a low back tank top...you look like a skank and dumb cause it's cold out. I think there is actually a note on my account about not pushing me cause I will tell you to back off. Every transaction that is done on your account can be looked at by corporate. They can't just give you whatever you want. Anything that has ever gone wrong with my account was quickly fixed and without argument. read more

I love tanning esp living in this state with SO much rain and cloud for so many days during the year. I love this place, its right next to Sears and its my favorite tanning joint of all time. The people there are SUPER friendly and knowledgable. They are funny and fun and they seem to really like their jobs. The place is SPOTLESS clean The beds are fantastic always in working order, always clean. The staff knows what kinds of bed you need, they can recommend the best lotions for your tan, your skin, etc. I have never had an issue with a bed there. I have been going here for years and I recommend it to anyone thinking about tanning for a trip, for your wedding, etc. They even do spray tans if you prefer that. I really can't stand this place, this entire industry alone makes me cringe ... but I look amazing when I VERSA so what are you gonna do -____-? Some of the girls are super nice and cute but some totally blow I'm not gonna name bash but I had an issue with billing and she was Z E R O help even though she was the employee responsible for over charging my account. I asked to taken of this monthly plan I had where it was auto payment and I still got charged 2 months after that. It took at least 7 different phone calls to fix this ......are you kidding me!? Not bad usually but staff needs more consistency or training on customer. This lady was complaining about 6 people coming in 20 minutes before closing and she was complaining to quit her job with the manager on the phone and also said aloud to all customers in the room "wtf" if you know what I mean. People have daytime jobs and cannot always come in to the staff's preference and this woman's actions are highly inappropriate and unprofessional. She is taking 15 minutes up of everyone's time to try to figure out one person's tanning schedule since that person already tanned once today and they have a policy only one tan per day. I was visiting family in the area and stopped by for a versaspa spray tan before leaving on a trip. The girl at the front desk was adamant about selling me a package even though I didn't live in the state. As for the tan, it was HORRIBLE. I get versaspa spray tans all the time and i've never had a problem like this. As I was getting sprayed I knew it would turn out bad. Instead of a fine mist it dispensed as a splatter, and sure enough once it developed I looked like I had freckles/liver spots instead of a spray tan. My guess is the nozzles need cleaning or replacing. It would have also been nice to have a space heater in the tanning room. read more
