I just recently started tanning again and the beds here are incredible. Ive always gotten right in to tan when I stop by and the service is great. The quality of the beds are what stick out to me though, I tanned the first time 30 years ago and these beds are just amazing. They mist you, have specific tanners for your face, and I always get great color after just 7 or 8 minutes! Highly recommend. read more

I went here today, I am glad I found this location! It's the closest one to me and the best one I've been to. I've been to 4 different locations of Seattle Sun tan. Both Kirkland locations, Woodinville and now this one. This one has the best Spray Tan machine in town. Its much more powerful than the other locations. They even have a nice bathroom and very friendly staff. They keep the place very clean, the only draw back is it can be hard to get in and out of the parking lot where they are located, especially during rush hour traffic. I have been going to spraytan more often since I found this location. The 2 in Kirkland have a very weak spray tan machine that feels like pure air is spraying, not liquid. I'll write a separate review for those though. read more

Not a good place. They try to sell you stuff all the time. They even tried to charge me for a service that was included in the membership and argued with me about it. I agree with reviews that say it's a scam. Also poorly maintained, including tattered towels and robes with holes in them. Some very rude staff, although most are nice, but the bad ones can ruin your mood. read more

Love my "girls" at Mill Creek and Bothell. I am a little biased because my niece runs the locations, but every single time I go into Mill Creek or Bothell, they know who I am, what beds I like and the time I go for. I always end up smiling and laughing with each one of the staff. They handle difficult clients with ease or system issues like pros. Yes they do try to sell product, but what do you expect? Ok... so went today and pay a pretty penny for my tans, staff hit and miss, manager Hannah is a mess when you see her. I'm pretty sure the staff has 3 things to do, UPSALE, customer service and cleaning. I get this may not be the best job and does not need a higher education or even IQ. All levels are a fail, they don't know their product, they don't know their packages! When you pay for a bed with lights out? When you put your shoes on and see hair and toenails on the floor! I've been with Seattle Sun Tan for two years now.... I use multiple locations and I've had both good and bad experiences but today was the worst. Went in and noticed that Christina behind the counter is unable to keep her mask up over her nose so I'm standing back.... She's asking me my last name, first name.... Yadada, but wait - she can't hear me. I explained that I'd move closer if she could put her mask over her nose. That's when she proceeded to sneeze. When I came out of the room, she asked me if she'd done something wrong. I told her she needed to put her mask over her nose. First she said she was allowed to have it off when clients weren't there. (But she never pulled it up even after I mentioned it.) Then she said it wouldn't stay up. I explained that there's a wire in the mask and all she has to do it squeeze it. As I was talking with her, it was off her nose the entire time. It's isn't hard. At all. read more

I am updating my review as I had a really poor experience the other day. Usually the girls are helpful and fantastic, and even after this incident I had another great experience a few days later.. but the poor experience I had is worth mentioning if not just for the managers to help train some of the sales girls a little better. Bit of a long story.. I came in to tan a little before vacation and the girl started upselling me on packages and lotions which is fantastic. I understand it's her job and she was killing it! Got me to buy more tans when I really didn't need them, but it was a good deal and she was very persuasive. Points to her. But then it went downhill when I mentioned that I didn't need a new lotion, but I needed a sample sized one since I had forgotten mine that day. After having me smell a few full sized ones and helping me decide which would give me the best color for the best smell, I said I'd like to try the sample size. All good here still. Then when she told me the single use sample size was $23 I was shocked! I giggled and said sorry girls but I'll take the cheapest one. That's nuts to me since my entire full size bottle I have at home costs less than this single time use lotion. And that's when it went downhill.. She then scoffed at me and asked what kind it was that I could possibly be using for less than $23 for a large size (my words, not hers. Her attitude was rude and her tone wasn't kind, but my dramatic words here). I told her I had googled top 10 best indoor tanning lotions for 2017/2018. I bought the highest rated one off of amazon. These are the exact words I told her. She and the other sales girl start laughing and telling me amazon sells expired lotions and they're not made out of the good stuff and that's the reason salons don't carry those and belittled the product I had, big time. They asked to see what kind it was so I pulled up the lotion and they both start in on how they've never heard of it and amazon doesn't carry any good ones and good luck with using it... Having done sales before, it's not attractive to the customer to laugh at them and tell them their current product sucks. It's much more appealing if they say something like "oh I haven't heard of that lotion! If it's working for you than that's great! One thing to try maybe once that bottle is running low, is to try one of the products we have here. Use yours, than ours, and do a comparison. I think you'll see the benefits of the lotions we carry as they have XYZ benefits in addition to the ABC benefits of your current lotion. Keep it in mind when before you purchase your next one. We always have sales and I know we could find a lotion you love here". So, to the girl who laughed at the product I use and then barely spoke to me and was very obviously upset at me after that, calm down. It's lotion. read more

Gosh I hate to write this because I love the services they provide. Yet, I feel they could really improve if they changed how they desperately want you to buy products. Hey, I already spend almost $80.00 per month for their services, but they really want every penny I have lol. The regional manager is mean and really is nasty to you if you don't buy their products. When she is nice it is usually just to manipulate you to buy more. It just feels uncomfortable, and they wonder why people cancel the memberships. If they just create a warm and welcoming environment people would want to come back, yet they don't understand basic customer service skills. I visited the Bothel location the other day and just cringed when I saw the manager there. she always has a nasty tone when you leave and her misery shows. How is that my problem you are unhappy? We all struggle so who gives you the right to treat people that way? Very unprofessional customer service. read more

As the covid lockdowns went into effect I requested to have my membership cancelled. The person I spoke with said I would have to wait for a store to reopen because I was required to cancel in person. Consequently, I was being charged a monthly fee without the ability to use my membership. When they finally reopened, I foolishly agreed to just "freeze" my account and was told that the money I was being charged to have my account frozen would be doubled when I came back to unfreeze my account and I could use that money any way I wanted when decided to continue. Now that I have decided that I could use a tan I am being told that the money is only for purchasing lotions and not for my monthly tanning. I feel that on the whole I was misled by this company and must give them one star for these deceptive practices. I do not recommend! read more

Very sales-y. BEWARE of their membership deal because in order to cancel that you have to make an appearance in the store AND make it in about 2 weeks before it charges your card again so that "corporate has time to process it". At this point I wasn't really upset with their bushiness, they seemed like a company that would make you do a run-around like that so I came in, signed the cancellation paper AND even paid for an additional month that I wash't going to use. Fast forward 5 months. I notice the membership wasn't cancelled so I called them and after about a week of back and forth, I got corporates phone number. Come to find out "Corporate" is just ONE girl name Jesse. So your big bad corporate needs 2 weeks to cancel my membership, I would still love an explanation as to why it takes someone 2 weeks to cancel a credit card payment? But moving on. Because I didn't have a copy of my cancellation paperwork (from 5 months ago) they weren't going to refund my money. She was even the one that noted that I hand't used any of their salons for about 5-6 months and had a credit. So then why is it so difficult to refund somebody their money for services they clearly didn't use? I get your in the business of making money but you should also CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS because this is one that will NEVER be back to Seattle Sun Tan. Sure, if I had a membership knowingly, I would use it but your staff seems incompetent enough to process paperwork and I feel like i'm not the only person you guys have scammed into paying not just 1 additional month but MULTIPLE. I know I am partly to blame because I didn't double check their work and check my account at the end of the month but I have multiple EFT accounts and its very easy to miss a $25 charge. I was in there over summer and, they tanned me by "professional once outstanding" My husband went back and wanted bed tans and airbrush to follow??? After confusing us for there "COMMISSION" They told us, 130.00 for 3 airbrush and bed tans.... I went back for another airbrush and couldnt go to work because it was so bad i was a mess. They said they would redue???? They did another bad job. I bought bed tans as i said.... So after airbrush the gal pressured me terriable to buy tanning lotion to accelerate tan $50.00. So then i said i will use bed. She said oops you dont have any?????? Customer service called me and would not refund. But said they would do another spray tan with profesional ANYTIME. Was leaving for Jamaica in Nov. Called and booked appointment. I called before leaving house and they had NOBODY AT ANY LOCATION WHO WAS ABLE TO DO IT.I STILL HAVE50.00 BOTTLE OF LOTION NO. This review is for the facilities/beds only, I recently moved to Bothell from Issaquah and am so disappointed in the Bothell location. There are several beds with burnt out bulbs, I tanned in one today half the face lamps on one side were out. The most alarming thing of all is many of the doors to the rooms don't lock or even have a lock. I witnessed one fall off while I was walking to my room and on my way out saw a girl ask how the door worked only to be told by the employee that it was broken but don't worry no one will walk in. Wtf. Don't worry while you get pretty much get naked and cover your eyes. Seriously, yikes. It's so sad. I will no longer go there and end up going back to Issaquah until I find another location that can actually compare to the Issaquah location. I don't feel like the girls are trained except in how to push products. I ordered bed tans and airbrush. 48 percent off. I had panic attack and my boyfriend finished signing me up as I went outside. He paid, $100.00. I called next day and they said, he only got you three spray tans. No membership or beds. I said bull shit. I complained and went in for airbrush. I couldn't even leave my house it was so bad. They sold me some tanning excelerster when I don't even have bed tans? So I had been going to this location for a while and it was always just an OK experience.. No longer after last Saturday. I went in asking for a level 5 tan. The girl asked "how long do you want to go on that level 5?" My response was "well I will go the whole time and get out if I get hot being that it has hardly any burning rays" I have somewhat fair skin and had been one time in a high pressure bed a week prior so my skin wasn't primed for anything but that bed that day. She sent me to room 15 and I thought, Hmmm I have never been in this room before. OK I trust her. 15 mins in that bed and I didn't get hot...Let's fast forward 2 hours later.... I am BADLY BURNED!! I was thinking all night that it wasn't right, so I called yesterday morning and asked another girl what level bed 15 was. She told me it was a LEVEL 3!!! I would never go in that bed for the whole time!! I tried to email the manager but I didn't go through. . The crazy part was the place was dead when I went in and apparently the girl was training people!!! That's a huge liability and not to mention it's very dangerous to do to someone. Clearly, if she was training people, she has been there a while. I am still very burned and it reminded me that I should write this review right now. Shame on you. The lack of basic customer service skills demonstrated by the employees is baffling. When your job requires so little from you, that you resort to standing around at a desk all day, don't you want to help clients out with some basic questions about equipment, etc? Come on. Beds are nice, staff is nice most of the time. Sometimes they dont really pay attention when you walk in. They were very rude to me, not to mention unclear, when I went to cancel my account however. Reasonable prices. I dont like how they dont have little wipes in the rooms for after your tanning to get the lotion smell off... The rooms kind of seem unsecure too. read more

Location is convenient but its the most I've ever paid for a not so great tan. I hold color really well and don't burn at all so a medium/high pressure stand up and at any other salon will keep me golden for 2 weeks. I did a level 5 stand up here a few days ago and got NO COLOR at all. Worse than a conventional bed. The bulbs in the bed wasn't even hot... Wait... It wasn't even warm. And I think I had $6 left in my account so I paid $10 more. Pretty much a rip off since I could of went to Rockstar Tan and paid $10 for any bed after 10pm or on Sunday all day. A high pressure there gets me super dark in 6 minutes. read more

I have been to other Seattle Sun Tan locations and the Bothell location has a better layout and more beds but absolutely terrible customer service. The front desk ladies are rude, roll their eyes, and are constantly texting or eating behind the desk. Seattle Sun Tan does not care about their customers, just making sales. I have been a member for awhile and have frozen and reactivated my account. Every time I go into the salon, the ladies tell me I owe an amount for this or that. I have had a package of tans on my account but been turned away from tanning because I wouldn't pay the random fees that they kept presenting. The front desk ladies do not give any kind of print out or report of the account so you can see whats happening. Instead they refer you to call Jen in Customer Service. Jen is hard to reach. In the past I left several messages and did not get a call back for days. When I finally did reach Jen, she made excuses about her kids and why she was not prompt in returning calls. I have paid the random fees SST presented me so I could keep tanning but they did not keep a record of the charges. I paid a $40 fee for changing credit cards while my account was frozen. SST has no record of this. I have the charge on my bank statement but was treated extremely terrible by Jen in customer service. The women from SST look for ways to judge, tear down women, have awful customer service, and do not put 100% into their work. Tanning should be fun and relaxing so do it elsewhere. I will not be returning to Seattle Sun Tan and happy to tell anyone why. The other negative reviews line up well with my review. read more

I was so excited to start getting some color so I went in for the $8 after 8pm special and unfortunatley got sold on the unlimited package. They gave me a free versa spa for signing up which was kinda cool. I was on the right track so far....This is where it goes bad. My 2nd time going in, my first time tanning, the girl who's helping me says I need to do a level 5 bed to get my base coat.... they will give me a deal where I can pay $100 and get 15 sessions or something like that...OK... well last time they sold me the unlimited package and now they're upselling me already? She said Level 1 and 2 beds have the highest UV rays and it wasn't good for my skin...Well then why are the beds here and why are you selling people on unlimited packages that can only use Level 1 and 2? Then they try to sell me lotion again then after I say no I get the "cold shoulder" like I'm so horrible for not wanting to spend all my money on tanning. 2nd Time in pretty much the same deal...Upselling and rude. The girls here are like used car sales men mixed with bitchy valley girls...As soon as my unlimited package is done I am cancelling and never going back!! read more

Won't go back again. I tried to sign up for monthly tanning and the girl at the desk, Max, was rude and not helpful all. I had a $20 off coupon and she said I couldn't use it for tanning. That is misleading considering the coupon said "to use at any Seattle Sun tan". Then I asked her how much it would cost to sign up for monthly tanning and she told me $40. The sign right outside the door said "$24.99 unlimited tanning per month". I asked her why that is and she said it was because I am signing up the last day of the month. That didn't make sense either. I tried asking her to explain the additional $15 fee to me but then she said the fee changes every day and asked to see a card they could have on file. She would have to swipe it in order to see how much they would charge that day. I decided not to go through with a membership due to all the misleading information. I will find another tanning salon to go to in the area. read more

I love this Seattle Sun Tan. I have been to other locations in the past including Kirkland, Kent, Auburn, Bellevue, Mill Creek. This by far is my favorite location. It is big with tons of beds (so no waiting), the rooms and beds are clean, and the girls are really nice, and not too pushy in trying to sell packages and lotions. I've probably tanned at every salon in a 10 mile radius of Bothell in the last 5 years...I would say this place ranks at the top! Very clean salon, girls aren't trying to make me buy every product. I liked their spray tans.. I think I got a good Groupon for it! Didn't make me look orange or streaky.
