There are few places that I'd rather be than a Seattle Storm game. For someone who grew up watching NFL, and is a die-hard San Diego Chargers fan, I never thought that ANY sport would take it's place. Not so any longer. I've jumped ship, peeps!! Yes, it's true. After relocating up here to Seattle, my wife and I attended our first Storm game, and that was all it took. OMG, where have I been for the last decade? Has my head been buried in the sand, or more likely, inside of a string of books!?!?!???? I guess so, because it's like I never really knew that the WNBA even existed (though I did know). If you love sports, and you live in, or near, Seattle.... don't walk.... RUN to the nearest computer, and buy yourself a ticket to a Storm game. You will not be disappointed. Lauren Jackson, Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Svetlana Abrosimova, Tanisha Wright, Camille Little, Le'coe Willingham, Abby Bishop, Jana Vesela, Alison Lacey and Ashley Robinson are AMAZING to watch on the court (and some of them are VERY lovely on the eyes!!!!!!). So what are you waiting for? A personal invitation from the team mascot, Doppler? You don't need a weather report to know that a STORM is a brewin' in Seattle, and it's going to leave you with a wonderful impression of what a woman CAN and WILL do!!!! read more

Sue Bird. Lauren Jackson. Swin Cash. These ladies are beautiful, classy, and they are easily the best basketball players in the world. I always recommend Seattle Storm games when my friends or family are in town. The tickets are very reasonably priced ($20 can get you 5th row seats!), the crowd at the Key gets loud and pumped, and the team puts on a good show night in and night out. It's a family oriented atmosphere, but it can also be a perfect place to bring a date! read more

The following is a public letter of apology to the Seattle Storm. Dear Seattle Storm, I was not always a believer. And while it would be too much to say that I was a hater, it would definitely be fair to say that I was a skeptic. A skeptic with a good degree of condescension. To be honest, I was kind of a dick about the whole thing. Maybe you've heard the joke, "What does WNBA stand for?" I'm not even going to write the answer, because I'm genuinely ashamed that I once found it funny. Like I said. But then I had an idea to take my daughter to a game. I justified it by declaring that a Storm game would be a great place for darling daughter to see awesome female role models. Little did I suspect that they would be awesome role models for me too. But that's exactly what happened. I'll never forget that first game we saw. The Storm were down by double digits in the second half when former Husky Jamie Redd, making her Storm debut and, entering the game for an injured Lauren Jackson, got hot and put on a shooting clinic that not only brought the Storm back, but won them the game. And the fans were out of their minds. And I was out of my mind. And hooked. The next year we purchased a multi-game package and it turned into not just a father/daughter event, but an event for the entire family. Throughout that season and the next there was fantastic basketball, the train during timeouts, entertaining half time shows and t-shirts tossed into the stands. There was the game when you invited my kids to go down on the court and receive a basketball from a player. My son received the ball from Betty Lennox and my daughter from Lauren Jackson. In 2004 you delivered a championship trophy to Seattle. I was there with my family with tears in my eyes. How fricken awesome. Six years later there was another championship and you became the only professional sports team in Seattle to ever win multiple championships. Best of all, you did it all while upholding the team values of sportsmanship, entertainment and community. So Seattle Storm, I hope that you will accept my sincere apology for my immaturity and condescension so many years ago. I hope you will recognize my gratitude for being Seattle's most consistent team of the past decade, (nine straight playoff appearances - woot!) and my thanks for putting on a family friendly, affordable and immensely entertaining show. You are truly awesome Seattle Storm and Seattle is a greater city for you being here. read more

I love the Storm. My partner and I have been season ticket holders for years and during the Storm season we live, sleep, eat and breathe the Storm. The tickets are not as expensive as other professional sporting events and you have a better time because you can respect these women for what they do. They aren't like the NBA and NFL thugs who make a gadjillion dollars a year and act like criminals. Storm fans are wonderful too. One night I dropped my bus pass somewhere and was looking for it and was contemplating a long walk home to Ballard but a friendly Storm fan offered me a ride home which was totally awesome. My only complaint is the slowness and ineptiptitude of the Key Arena concession staff (Aramark) at times. Food prices are high for the quality you get. read more

The Seattle Storm games are awesome! Tickets are very affordable--we payed about $20 apiece for center court VIP seats during regular season play! Even the play-off tiks are reasonably priced. If this wasn't cool enough, the team often has discounted tickets ie: Pride-Fest prices. The food, the merch, the other spectators, and the PLAYERS make it an incredible experience. We had tons of fun and felt an immediate camaraderie with other attendees and staff when we went. The website is comprehensive and tells about team appearances and what sports bars are showing the away games. There's no reason to skip out on our Storm. My only complaint has little to do with STORM--I wish the team garnered more support from Seattle. I could not find WNBA merch anywhere! Not even pro-shops, who often featured California teams rather than Lady Storm. You would never know Seattle had another professional team :-( Get to a game and you won't regret it-yay for our Western Conference Champs--soon to be 2010 WNBA Champions!!! read more

LOVE, love, LOVE the Seattle Storm basketball team!!! It is truly fun and exciting to go to the games. The women players are passionate about playing and are great athletes. They play hard!! I know that the attendance for 2013 has dropped due to the fact that the two big name stars, Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson, are injured and unable to play this season - but the team is still charging ahead! Tina Thompson keeps the team kicking butt as much as she can. Even without Birdie or LJ - the Storm games are worth your time! And the tickets are cheap!!! The WNBA is more exciting than the NBA to me. Not as many hotshots, publicity stunts, less showmanship and more pure talent and passion. I became a fan in 2006 and was hooked from the first game. The crowd has a big variety.... yes, there is a big lgbt community and fans there, but there are also a ton of kids and families, and just basketball fans. It is fun for everybody! Anyone I have taken to a game has gotten hooked! The energy can't be beat and the Storm fans are the loudest and best out of all of the WNBA! It's a must-see experience! I just went to my first Storm game and I'm totally hooked! It was a great entertaining game. Key Arena's not huge, so there are good views to be had from just about anywhere, and tickets are reasonably priced. Key Arena could stand to upgrade the food options, but since a game only lasts about 2 hours, it's easy just to pass on the concessions. read more

What can I say about our Seattle Storm........they are the best sports team in our city hands down, and, up. I do hope the M's and Seahawks join us, I want their fans to know what this feels like. We've been at the Key as Season ticket holders and here for both Championships. 2010 was by far the best year ever. We broke records all over the place, so when Sue hit the 3pointer that swept us into the finals. Finally we were in the finals again, against a tough 4th seeded Atlanta, but our dream was their nightmare and we prevailed........again champions.
