I've been a member of this club for a year and have gotten a lot out of it. The people are not…read moreonly friendly and welcoming to new members, but they are super helpful and supportive with the Toastmaster program. The members have a wide range of experience and skill levels. You can work at your own pace - take it slow and observe for a while before jumping in or you can dive in right away with speaking activities. I joined Toastmasters to help get over nerves with public speaking, and to practice speaking in front of groups in both a professional setting and non-work setting (e.g. officiating a wedding). I have gotten much more out of the club than just getting over nerves. I feel more relaxed with presenting, but I also feel more confident putting together presentations and giving feedback to others. If you are thinking of joining a club - you can come as a guest a few times to figure out if this is a good fit for you.

I didn't receive any notification about the time change and arrived 10 minutes early to the time listed on my ticket and 20 minutes late to the show. I wasn't ushered in to the performance hall with any sort of direction, there was no acknowledgement of the mixup, I stood (in platform heels) for the entire show in front of a door and with a partially obstructed view, had to leave fairly unceremoniously due to the late show they squeezed in afterwards (presumably to sell more tickets) and to top things off they didn't have sparkling water when I tried to order it after the show, which is less annoying but was the cherry on top. Don't book with them.

A free wine club with awesome events!…read more I've recently joined the club and been to two events. You get newsletters each month telling you what's going on. They have fancy events and not-so fancy, but they are never pretentious. I always feel comfortable asking questions at the pouring events and have sampled some really great wines. The best event so far was in Woodinville where I got to taste 2-3 wines at 15 wineries for only $15! That's a GREAT deal for us folks who love wine but aren't rolling in the money. All you need to make a great evening is a designated driver!

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely listening session of John Coltrane A Love Supreme. Acoustics are outstanding, which is the main reason to check out Shibuya HiFi. Drinks: Having been warned by both a colleague as well as all Shibuya reviews (Google and Yelp) on mid-cocktails, we enjoyed our favorite spirit on rocks and averted disaster. Cocktails are $18+ and there is a single bartender. As several reviewers note, drinks are not permitted in the listening room, so make sure to enjoy your drink prior to your scheduled session. Seating: We arrived around 5PM for our 6PM session to grab a quick drink and lined up ~5:20PM to be first in line (seating is first-come, first-serve). Shoes off in the listening room. Best seats are front and center of the listening room, with uncomfortable stools towards the back. Music: The storytelling of the album was simple (might have expected more knowledge of the album), with the host spending majority of time introducing us to the acoustic sound equipment of the room.

It's the kind of place where you feel like you're in the right spot for the night. Service was solid, everybody was cool and actually knew what they were talking about. Drinks were on point too....not the basic stuff you get everywhere else. What I really liked is the whole vinyl/listening-room experience. You come here to actually enjoy the music, not just talk over it. The sound system is amazing, the playlists are well put together and the whole place just gives you that "I'm somewhere unique" feeling. I get why people love this place, it's perfect for a date, catching up with friends, or just relaxint with good music and good energy. Definitely worth it!!

(if you're attending a summer event and can be outside, or it's before sunset.) The bar seems to have lots of options, but no prices listed. So, it's a roll of the dice. "Market price" for a wine pour, I guess. Plus, they add an automatic gratuity. (Be sure to read the fine print) THEN, the card swipe machine asks you for an additional tip! This place hasn't been remodeled or updated in what seems like 50+ years. I hope to never return.

Sharing a perspective as a member…read more... My husband and I joined the College Club this summer and have nothing but great things to say about our experience. I was initially attracted to the idea of the social club. The lounge, which has a traditional college pub feel, includes a pool table, shuffleboard, a large flat screen, and lots of seating - a great space for hanging out. The venue which consists on two floating vessels has a large dock off the back. We were blown away by how much fun the dock has been. On nice summer days, we would come down for a couple of hours and lounge/lay out on the dock or hop in the water and swim for a bit. There are number of singles, couples, and families so it brings a nice balance of people. (We don't have kids but I've always thought this is the perfect club for those who do - without being too annoying for those of us who don't.) Also throughout the summer, they do Wednesday happy hours and a fun outdoor Thursday night concert series on the dock. I've talked to a number of serious rowers who enjoy the club for the boat access. My husband and I aren't rowers but to our surprise, we've had a lot of fun taking out kayaks (and paddle boards) - both with free access as a part of the membership. The gym isn't fancy but it's clean and has some good equipment (stationary bikes, rowing machines, weights). There are never more than a few people in the gym at once. I've liked it so much that I canceled another gym membership and only come here now. I wasn't sure if this would be a better "summertime" club but we've enjoyed into the colder months. In addition to my ongoing use of the gym, they offer fun social events like college football viewing parties and wine tasting events. Lastly, I have nothing but great things to say about the staff. They genuinely care about their members and have helped create a warm and welcoming environment. They really help set the tone for the overall feel of the club, especially for the social events. I'm glad we made the choice to join. It's been a great addition for us.

Always very disappointing when I have to do an update on a previously celebrated business. This has…read morebeen my go-to place since moving to Seattle in 2012. And I supported it wholeheartedly despite sometimes finding items slightly cheaper elsewhere. Additionally, as an art educator I always suggested it to my students for their value, as well as excellent and knowledgeable customer service. Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed to say both superb customer service and cost value are gone. Firstly, I learned from my students that student discount was no longer available. Then after my last visit, I was stunned how much the prices have increased. Still, I remained a dedicated patron. After coming home I realized one of the expensive wooden panels had a substantial gouge in the corner - simply too noticeable to try fixing. I confidently returned to the store but was told they would not take back the damaged items - because they couldn't verify it was damaged before my purchase. The associate was unbearably rude and dismissive. One my way out I expressed my profound disappointment with the current direction of this trusted business with another associate, only to have the associate I originally spoke with catch up with us. Now they changed their song, saying they could accept the damage item but I was very lucky because it's not something they always do. What?! The associate appeared to be making up policies as they went along. In the end I kept the damaged wooden panel, as I will keeping my business away from this place.
