I'm afraid I also had a miserable experience with this outfit. My leasing contact was Ashley and her lack of professionalism astounds me. I could deal with the fact that she was as warm as an iceberg in Winter, but her questionable business practises were alarming, I was rushed through the walk through since she has another showing after mine and I did not get to see the garage/storage space as a result. Initially I was excited that I had gotten the place since it was my top choice. Immediately upon letting me know I had it she throws in that the lease was for 18 months and says "didn't I tell you that up front?" When I was taking time to think it over due to the longer lease she emails me to let me know that she is getting lots of other interested parties and that I should sign the lease immediately before someone else takes it. After I did sign I get another email back right after saying that now the owner is holding off signing until he gets copies of my tax returns. This didn't set well with me as well and my life situation changed so that I decided not to move to Seattle and contacted her the next day to let her know that I was pulling out of the deal. A few hours later Ashley contacts me back that the landlord changed his mind and did sign and that they are enforcing the contract. It took her a few days to forward an email from the owner proving that he accepted before I pulled out, but I suspect she changed the time stamp on the email as this is easy to manipulate. It gets more weird in that she lied to the owner and said that I requested to have some of the rooms painted to neutral colors, when all she told me in the walk through was that the painters were touching up some of the paint & might be painting some of the room to change to neutral colors. Now the owner is trying to have me pay for painting the place, which I did not request. Ashley and the Seattle Rental Group are incredibly shady. My lease wasn't due to start until 1 1/2 weeks until after I canceled on the deal and, honestly it still would not start for another half week from now. All of the people that were calling on the place have seemed to vanish according to Ashley (sounds like she was pressuring me to sign). Ashley seemed interested in doing as little as possible to collect her commision and only posted it on Craigslist once in the 2 1/2 period leading up to the showing. A warning to all property owners looking to rent their places- stay away from Seattle Rental Group! read more

Yvonne was a champion, not only finding rental listings in our price range, but incorporating our own searches into one and a half days packed full of viewings. My wife and I were very stressed out as we had already committed to a cross-country move and had movers coming to get our stuff back in Brooklyn mere days later. Yvonne was not just there with all the details we needed, but also with reassurances that our timeline was totally manageable. Not only did we end up renting one of the listings she found for us, but because a couple of units at the end of our tour had rented, Yvonne also gave us a partial credit for her fee. I felt that that was above and beyond since she did far more for us than just a day's tour. If you wonder whether the fee is worth it, only ask what your calm and sanity is worth, because that's what Yvonne really gives you. The new home is a close second. read more

Almost all of the yelp reviews of this company are suspect. Two of them are from people who made one review ever on Yelp. Both were done on the same day. I've dealt with this company in trying to get a rental. They have draconian leasing terms that they will not even send early in the rental process. I hope you don't end up having to move or change jobs as they have you on the hook for a one month fee and also hold you liable for the full term of the lease. Having read what seem like bogus reviews here, I'm happy hat I passed on dealing with this company. read more

Being a landlord and a renter I understand the sometime complexities of getting someone in that both parties approve of. Its simple...if you are a renter and find a place you like simply grab it; because there is no guarantee the place will be avaliable when your ready. Brenden was great in assisting me with locating an apartment here in Seattle. He was very knowledgable about the area and different neighborhoods, and also answered all of my questions I had about the where to's. He was courteous and kind to me and my mother as this was my first time in Seattle (and the pacific NW). I would definitely recommend having Brenden assist with locating the perfect place to stay. Brenden sent me a list of at least 12 different locations based on my rent $ max and features I wanted. He then had a scheduled day of tours for my top 8 apartments. Brenden paid close detail to my desires while we toured, and ended up suggesting that we view a place I hadn't chose in my Top 8, but he felt would be something I liked. He was able to get a tour to the place, and I ended up LOVING the building and now have signed a lease there. Brenden is great!! read more

I had mixed experience with this company. I was a.first-time landlord and chose this company based on great Yelp reviews. I didn't know any agent so I was assigned to Michael. (Tip 1: research the agent first. Michael had some negative Yelp review but I didn't know back then). Michael was friendly and helpful at the beginning to answer all my questions. He suggested a rent (Tip 2: do your home work, do not blindly trust their recommended rent). I questioned the rent was too low only because my friend also rented his townhouse in the same location for a higher price. I asked for the rent matching my friend's and Michael agreed. I gave him the credit for finding a reasonable tenant quickly. After the contract was signed, Michael changed to a different person and became unresponsive or even defensive to my follow-up questions. He said that I was the first one to ask certain types of questions in all his years as an agent and would not give me an answer (a very different attitude than before) I became suspicious and found out after the fact that the rent of my brand new townhouse was among the lowest in the neighborhood. In summary, I was happy that my townhouse rented out quickly but I wish that I had done more due diligence in asking more questions upfront on the agent and the company beforehand. read more

I worked with Trevor O'Dell to lease a townhome in Bellevue. His representation is with Seattle Rental Group and Pointe3 Real Estate. I met with him myself, I did not have a real estate agent representing me because it seemed like a simple lease. On the day we met to sign the leasing agreement, he told me at the signing that there was going to be some siding work done on the townhome. I had already given notice and was set to move when he told me, so I was in a tough situation. I work from home a few days per week so noise is an issue, but I went forward. This was a huge mistake, because it ended up being a complete residing project. Trevor had clearly minimized the scope of the project and the impacts to me when we met to sign. This not being disclosed during all communications prior is a very unethical. To give him the benefit of the doubt, the HOA could have decided to do this in the few days in between, but it seems like this scale of a project is discussed and planned months in advance. During the signing process, he disclosed to me that the owner, a Bellevue based psychologist, is personal friend, and that he does contract work for him outside of real estate. He made the owner seem like a great guy. On move in day, I arrived at the home for the walk through, and Trevor met me there, and there were several cosmetic issues that were not addressed between the last tenant and me. These issues included water damaged based boards in the bath, wall marks, running toilet. These are simple things that should have been noticed by him prior and fixed. The biggest issue about the house was that it was filthy. I ended up having my 2 housekeepers spend 7 hours cleaning it from top to bottom. There was even dog feces all over the yard. As my movers were arriving with my items, the housekeepers were running around cleaning everything. I called Trevor and he sent his housekeepers back to get the dog feces, but they did not correct the cleaning issues so I paid for my housekeepers to do this. The siding project took several weeks, it was very disruptive, and it interrupted my ability to work from home on multiple occasions. I would be on a conference call and there was loud drilling, men hanging from the side of the building, it was terrible. A few months later, the owner informs me that now they are going to replace the roof. During an inspection of a neighbor's property, they found mold in the attic, so HOA decided to replace all of the roofs. Again, I believe this was decided months prior, but there is no way to know for sure. In the inspection of my unit, mold was found in the attic, but the owner informed me he was not going to do anything about it, and that I would have to live through a roof replacement. The owner offered to reduce my rent that month but 50% but the project lasted much longer, and from my perspective, it was not about the money. At this point, I started to look for another place to live because after 6 months of living there, and the constant construction, mold in the attic, I was just not able to relax in my own home. I notified the owner that I was giving notice, and proceeded to move. In talking with Trevor about my lease agreement at move out, I was informed that I would not be receiving my original deposit for the townhome, which is $2750, because I broke the terms of my lease agreement. He also threatened that I would have to pay rent until the home was re-leased. This caused me significant stress. In the end, I was held to the terms of the lease agreement, when they did not, in good faith, keep the terms of providing a quiet place to live. This is just bad business practice. With the cost of movers, my lost deposit, and moving costs it cost me almost $5000 to move. In addition, the owner insisted that I pay $150 for carpet cleaning, per my lease agreement. The house was left spotless, I had my 2 housekeepers come back after I moved out. I emailed Trevor to let him know that I was unhappy with this decision to keep my full deposit and to charge $150 on top of it. I also realized that based on the relationship with the owner, he is likely going to side with him, and not look at this in a neutral or unbiased way. Trevor never responded to my email. This is why I decided to write this review, because he could have responded, could have apologized, but he did nothing. He did nothing to encourage his client to allow me out of the lease based on the extenuating circumstances, but he did nothing. read more

Very professional and responsive group to work with. I had reached out about their property management service and was connected to Trevor right away. Trevor was very professional and immediately schedule some time to come and look at my place. He brought with him all the necessary docs, complete with comps for other rentals in the area. He explained to me what was included in the property watch service and said that he could accommodate a short-term rental (6 months). He even called a few days later to followup on my decision. Even though I ultimately did not go with Seattle Rental Group (I happened to meet another property manager who owned a property in my same neighborhood and thought that the knowledge would be helpful), I definitely would recommend Seattle Rental Group and Trevor based on this positive experience. read more

I received a job offer in Seattle, with only 3 weeks to move. We paid our $450 to this company for the out of town service to aid us in finding a home. We were assigned to Michael, and he assured us that there would be no problem finding a home in our price range, with what we needed. He sent us a few listings the first day or two, and we dutifully filled out application after application. What a nightmare, and money wasted. My spouse and I spent hours every single day running through every single listing which met our criteria, submitting link after link to Michael. We expanded our search radius, and our price range well above our top comfort range, and we still had absolutely zero luck with him finding us a home. Each application he submitted, he said "I have a great feeling about this one", and that would be the last we would hear for days, despite repeated texts and messages left. We put together a detailed introductory letter for landlords, only to have their realtors send us snarky responses about how we "aren't quick enough on the draw", because their houses get hundreds of applications in 24 hours of posting. ... okay. We forward the responses to Michael, who says "Oh, they just don't realize that you're my client!" followed up with, "There's a bidding war on the property - what are you willing to pay?" seriously. And then again, days upon days of us sending links, and nothing. No responses. No word on any properties toured. No answers on whether applications were approved or denied. Last straw - we found a condo listed on the company's website, and told him we wanted it. Now. We would pay security, 1st, and 2 months rent up front to sweeten the deal. He went and got video of the property for us. We reiterated - we want this house. It is perfect. We need this house. Response: "Oh, sorry. It's already rented." - no explanation as to why he took the time to send us video of an unavailable house. The only reason Pointe 3 is getting more than 1 star, is after I emailed the owner (Kevin), he put me in touch with another rental service, which actually suceeded in getting us a house - granted, we had to wait about 2.5 weeks to move into it after I started my new job, but it was a house, with all of our criteria met. We got our application in, and that was that. Done. No competition, no bidding wars. It seems other agents here are amazing, but Michael is not one of them. read more

My boyfriend and I rented an apt from Seattle Rentals in 2009 and lived there for a year and a half. The only reason we moved was because we were having problems with neighbors(in the neighborhood, not the actual building). Our tires were slashed by a neighbor who had a grudge against us, and we felt unsafe. We were on a month-to-month contract, but Kevin was very understandable of our situation and said we could move out earlier if need be. From the moment we viewed the apt, we had nothing bad to say about Kevin or our buildings maintenance man, Steve. They didn't charge us for a credit check like a lot of other companies, and they were very flexible with the move in date as well. After our 1 year lease ended,we were able to move to a month to month lease, no questions asked. We had a low deposit, including a pet deposit, and actually got all of it back after we moved. They are completely reasonable with "normal wear and tear" as long as you are respectful and clean, and move out in a timely manner. It was an old building, with old building plumbing problems, but whenever we had a problem with it, it was always taken care of super quickly and conveniently. There were noise issues, because of it being an old building, but they were very kind in dealing with reasonable "noisy neighbor" complaints. I loved that we were treated like friends rather than just another renter. If we didn't decide to move out of Seattle to the East Side, I would have definitely rented from Seattle Rental again. read more

KIM is awesome! You can call my post suspect all you want- email me I'll talk to you in person! Seattle Rental Company needs to give her major props; Kim makes that company look good---yea, maybe overboard, but I wanted to write a letter of recommendation/recognition to her company and she was so humble about it--- I want to make sure someone there knows she's great at her job. In a nutshell: 1. She is extremely efficient, polite, professional, pays attention to details, timely-- very personable. 2.. She is honest with you in the politest of manners- if your wishlist and budget do not match up, she is very helpful in targeting your needs and/or helping you come to terms with compromising. 3. If your budget way exceeds your wishlist, she doesn't gouge your wallet/ budget. 4. She is patient and is willing to go back and try again---but likes to hit a home run on the first try---that's how well she listens 5. She helps you identify what is important to you (repeat I know). This was the most helpful for us! 6. She will not leave you hanging- she will come by your side and get you through this process in the most painless way possible. 7. She delivers. 8. I'd use them again. We relocated for work- as in, from out of state; I knew hardly anything of Seattle--the relocation package offered moving assistance in finding a home and Seattle Rental Company was who we were connected with. As soon as we moved to WA, we had to rush back to our home state for a family emergency. By the time we returned-- time was running out on our corporate housing and we needed a place. We had emailed a wish list to Kim and our thoughts on location etc.-- we were open to suggestions. She delivered exactly what we asked for and she was so accommodating. On the day of viewing, she moved her appointment after us, to be able to spend more time with us. In a very short time she really got a good sense of who my husband and I were and what would work for us--- Kim is very friendly, she shared her gum, her pictures of her dog, the hot spots in all the neighborhoods-- plus she has a really clean car and I appreciate that! She is a wealth of information on everything from neighborhood culture/history, to building and neighborhood growth expectations, to carpool vans and commute times...and like any good Realtor made sure to ask questions on our behave that I didn't even think of. Kim quickly identified out of our long wish list what our "real" priorities were and steered us in the right direction. She was able to take our long wish list and accommodate everything on it within our budget constraints (AMAZING!) After she completely delivered on what we asked for, with her help I realized I was totally looking in the wrong direction...she patiently waited on me. She is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable; she demonstrated complete unbiased opinions and behaviors (allowing us to feel comfortable to make our own decisions); She doesn't stalk you with follow-up-- but is instead perfectly tactful and timely with follow-up; she has a great sense of humor and is very, very, very patient (have I mentioned that before?)! My husband and I had the unfortunate experience to see a condo shown by Ingrid D. This was an awful experience from the beginning. Ingrid and I emailed back and forth to set up a time to go see a condo. She was very insistent we be there at 5:00pm even though I told her it was nearly impossible since my husband and I were not going to get off work until about 5:30. Ingrid's emails disregarded the questions I asked about the unit and were both short and rude. We were able to get off work in time to make it to the property at 5:00pm, but Ingrid wasn't there. She was 15 minutes late. She had also scheduled another appointment to see the condo at the same time. This normally wouldn't be a problem, except for two reasons: (1) she ignored us completely to talk to the other group exclusively, and (2) it was obvious she wanted us to be there promptly at 5:00 in order to rush through the showing as fast as possible. Ingrid was not thorough at all. The condo was in fair condition, but was clearly in need of a paint job and a cleaning (the kitchen cabinets were a little sticky, the lights in the kitchen were flickering a bit, and there were a pair of shorts still left in the bathroom). When we brought this to her attention, she just responded, "well, they already painted it, but it is what it is". Ingrid is not doing a service to either the owners of the condo or the people interested in renting it out. My husband and I can only rate this experience as an epic failure. read more

Yvonne is as awesome as others say! I signed up for a 1/2 day tour because I wanted to take the pressure off myself when trying to find an apartment to rent near Capitol Hill. Yvonne called and spent time to discuss exactly what I was looking for in a residence. Then she sent me about 35 listings sourced from MLS, Craigslist, Zillow, and other sources about 10 days from our scheduled tour. In the meantime, I happened to find a posting on Craigslist that I just loved and that worked for me. Because I found a property before the tour was scheduled, she arranged for me to get a complete refund of the $450 tour fee! I am so grateful to her for all of her efforts, kindness, and support. Never answer the phone in person, don't return calls for days and then either don't show up for an appointment or don't have access when they do show up. Yvonne is a gem. She made a hugely positive impact on our relocation to Seattle from San Diego. She had our back, big time. Seattle's rental market is crazy, especially in the late summer. Yvonne had set up tours of six properties that met our requests - half of them were taken off the market WHILE we were touring the first on our list (seriously, she was getting texts from property managers cancelling our subsequent tours as we were touring the first properties on our list, 4 of them)! Luckily, during our house hunting trip, and with her help, we fell in love with a neighborhood and decided to continue to focus our search in that area. We went back to San Diego and Yvonne offered to do video tours on any properties that might come up that we were interested in. She ultimately attended a last minute open house for us (on what was supposed to be her day off, no less!) sending us videos as she toured then helping us in real time apply and secure the place! She was so awesome and we are SO happy with the property we ended up renting! The application process for this property was a bit lengthy and Yvonne even went above and beyond, checking in with us and checking in with the property managers ensuring our application continued to progress. Not only did she do awesome work in ensuring we secured a rental property we are thrilled with - she was so kind, patient with us, guided us when we were confused/unsure, patient with our two small children, and all around wonderful to work with. I can honestly say Yvonne helped make our family's stressful relocation a WAY less stressful. I so glad we had her help finding a rental and I cannot recommend her enough! read more

honestly working with this company was horrible. I tried a few times to phone about places, and they were nothing short of rude. Being a transplant to the Seattle area they offered no help except they tried to sell me a 300 dollar tour. I have always thought showing people the area was part of realtors job. We tried to stay away from using them, unfortunately they somehow tend to get many of the good listings. Ironically, we saw one of there places asked if they had anymore we might like, were told no, but then brought to one another of their listings by a different agent. They are high pressure to do credit checks, everything seems to be driven strictly by profit not by helping. This might sound like sour grapes on my part and maybe it is. However they truley did suck and would love to never have to work with them again. They provided no help in figuring out how to set up utlities, they were late for every meeting we had and lied to us. I had asked for the key the night before I was to move in, so I could start first thing in the AM. they said no, the owner dosen't want that, i talked to the owner, he said they never asked and of course he would have given me the key the night before. I think it had to do with it being halloween and the relator wanting to go out , because they next am he was late. A word for people thinking they might use them to list their place, well first we almost walked away because of their attitude and dropped balls. I can also tell you I've know been in my place over a month, and they have never done a walk through with me, they have never came back to get the walk through paper so there is no signed paper work for the condition of the condo, they never gave me the contact info for the owners bank which makes it hard to pay. I did get it myself. But they showed very little interest once i signed the lease. If i was leasing out my place I would stay far far away. read more

You'll see that all of the positive reviews are mainly for Yvonne. I'm sure she's great. I'll have to second the review about Michael. I called Kim in June asking about the SRG services, and assured me that I could do sight unseen and find an apt in Capitol Hill on my budget. I was willing to start the process early, but she said 1 month before is the best bet (I was looking for a start date of Aug 15-Sept 1). From the get go, Michael was unresponsive, unreliable and did not bring any specialist expertise to the housing search. He had no interest in actually understanding me or what I was looking for. The "list" he sent me of 30 properties was also terrible - more than half of the places did not match my required criteria, and all from Craigslist/Zillow. He did not prescreen them at all, i.e. calling to ask if they were still available, or if they would be willing to take on a tenant sight unseen (my favorite place he actually went to go see did not, and he instead he told the landlord she should raise the rent). The first video he took was horrible - it was so quick that I could barely make out the place - and I had to tell him that he had to go inside the rooms and move slowly. I thought outsourcing the housing search meant I could be mainly responsive to Michael's listings, but instead I was on craigslist myself everyday, sending listings I came up with to him, many of which he did not follow up on. I could have hired a college student to take iPhone videos of the apartments I came up with, and it probably would have been better service. The only place that he saw that fit my requirements was actually in his own building. Nothing else. The place I eventually moved into was from Craigslist, and after calling, realized that the manager was great and had a good feeling. I had a friend go see it, I applied, and moved in. I love it. I must say Kim was much more professional than Michael was, and I wish she had taken me on instead when I voiced my concerns about Michael very early in the process. Ashley is the rental agent i have used for my Queen Anne house she has found me responsible quality tenants that I have never had issues with and very thorough with the contracts.Being an out of state owner she makes my life easy. read more
