We recently got married in our favorite city, Seattle despite both being from and living on the East Coast. After some frustration trying to find an affordable, professional DJ long distance, we simply googled "Best Seattle DJs" and found Seattle Parties. Everyone we spoke with was helpful and accommodating, and we were set up with DJ Sean, who began gathering information about the venue we never would have thought to think of. His dedication to making sure everything was perfect was evident, and he had luckily worked the venue we were using before, so what information we didn't figure out from home, he did. The website Seattle Parties was surprisingly comprehensive and intuitive. We were able to painlessly provide our entire evening's timeline, and make special request notes on just about everything. We picked out our songs for special events, and then went about putting together a playlist of requests we wanted throughout the evening. Almost all of the music we wanted was already in their system, and those that weren't we were able to easily special request. Every song we added could be assigned to a specific event or time, and I was able to add special notes, all of which were taken into account. On the day of our wedding, DJ Sean was awesome. The music for the ceremony was timed and amplified perfectly, despite being outside. When one of my groomsmen fainted (he's 12) Sean assisted in his recovery behind the scenes, while seamlessly making sure the music went on when our ceremony resumed a few minutes later. Everything from our arrival at the reception, to toasts and other events were announced perfectly. One of my biggest stressors in wedding planning was finding a DJ with the right personality, and DJ Sean had it. He obliged my unorthodox requests, and when my wife decided she wanted more of the "classics" played after dinner (to get parents dancing), he did an excellent job with that as well. In case this doesn't go without saying, his attire, communication with the bride and I, and set-up were all very professional. It was somewhat nerve-racking planning a wedding from across the country (without a wedding planner), but Sean helped make everything perfect. I would recommend Seattle Parties to anyone looking for a DJ. When we initially contacted them, it was just to get ask a few questions. DJ Leslie was AMAZING at our Halloween wedding. We met with her twice in pre-planning sessions and also planned with her over E-mail. Those planning sessions and E-mails were SUPER fun and she had a ton of great ideas. At the wedding, she came into the venue as I was getting my hair and makeup done, and my mother-in-law remarked that she was impressed with how Leslie immediately jumped into testing the sound system with positive energy, using her test announcements to cheer on the people that were prepping the space and making people more happy and relaxed with her awesomely fun attitude. Leslie also added uplighting before the ceremony, coordinating with the groom to get the perfect look for us, and strongly supporting our overall vision for the look of the space. Since we were having a Halloween wedding, she brought along a couple of fun spooky props that really added to the space too. During the ceremony, our music sounded great and she hit all of her cues exactly right. During dinner, she played songs that matched our playlist and style that we wanted, and she was super-accommodating as various plans shifted around at the last second, like when certain things were announced or the order that toasts would happen. Leslie especially shone during the reception. We are kind of a geeky crowd and not the most prone to letting loose and dancing the night away, but she was great at reading the room, playing songs that matched our style while keeping people having fun and dancing. Her announcements were hilarious and she and her assistant were clearly having fun, dancing and enjoying themselves up on stage, which a lot of people in the room enjoyed watching. That is the most that I or the groom have ever danced by far, and other people in the room were also surprised by how much fun they had getting their groove on. All in all, AMAZING, WONDERFUL, "FANG-TASTIC" DJ. I cannot say enough good things about Leslie. She was absolutely perfect for us, and our guests cannot stop talking about how great she was. Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed working with DJ Leslie throughout the entire process of planning our big day...but I will do my best here. From all the music coordination, to the lighting services, to everything else, the moment I met Leslie, and all the communications we had over email, phone, and in-person meetings, Leslie and her husband Sean at Seattle Parties are the true definition of professionals (and being REALLY, REALLY good at what they do!). Leslie worked with us on all the entertainment down to the smallest details as we planned our wedding, and that allowed us to have such an incredible and successful day! From being extremely flexible to our desire in music to the type of music we wished to have played at various different events, she exceeded our expectations and was just super awesome to work with. I don't know if there is any other DJ out there who would go to such great lengths like she did to make one's wedding day so special and something that we, and all of our guests, will always remember. We had Sean from Seattle parties at our wedding March 5th, 2011, and let me tell you - he knocked everyone's socks off. He was an AMAZING DJ and you will be lucky if you can book him. He seriously STUDIED a list of songs that I gave him beforehand, and I also asked him to play New Orleans/Cajun/zydeco/jazz as our wedding was Mardi Gras themed. He really pulled it off. He has every song you can imagine, the best equipment, and he really noticed when people were digging the music. He quickly fades a song if its not working and puts something on to get everyone dancing. He also did a great job fielding requests and putting in great song suggestions. He is not overly in your face, trying to get a laugh, attention seeking dj - he sits back, does his thing and looks like he is genuinely ENJOYING himself. Its nice to work with people who love what they do. And its nearly impossible to find a dj who bring the right attitude, the right equipment, the right music and has the full package. I'm sure, based on all of these reviews that the other djs are just as fabulous as Sean. Also, I am a total music snob so pleasing me this much was not easy to do. A friend of our's got married in October and used DJ Leslie at her wedding. After seeing her in action at their wedding, we knew we had to snag her for our July wedding in Roche Harbor! We met with her several months before and we ended up talking for hours about music and what we envisioned for our big day. Two weeks before the wedding, we still hadn't decided on a recessional song, introduction song, or exit song, and my husband was starting to get incredibly stressed. Luckily, DJ Leslie met with us and took away all of that stress but helping us choose the perfect songs. Our wedding reception was only 4 hours, so we had almost no wiggle room in our schedule. DJ Leslie put together a timeline that made everything seamless, and even though the toasts went a little longer than anticipated, she was able to adjust so that nothing else was missed or cut short. She absolutely ROCKED the dance floor and kept the party going all night! Our friends and family could not stop raving about how "awesome" our DJ was. She also arranged for us to have pictures taken on her friend's beautiful yacht as a surprise- talk about going above and beyond for her clients! Our day was absolutely perfect because of DJ Leslie. Sean did an absolutely outstanding job at our wedding. He played an awesome range of music that all of our guests loved. One of my co-workers said that they had never danced so much in their life and that they were actually sore the next day. He brought in everyone's requests and timed things perfectly. He also did a great job as MC. He kept things going and kept everyone keyed into the action. The best part was at the end of the evening when we switched from elegant wedding reception to surprise Sci Fi Party. His music choices, lights, lasers, fog, etc were perfect and really drew everyone into the action. There was another wedding at our reception venue that night and we noticed a number of "wedding crashers" from the other reception as the night progressed due to the energy in the crowd from the music. It was such a blast! I should also mention that all of this happened with only a little direction to Sean. We met with him twice (one of those times was before we signed a contract), sent him a requested play list and a schedule for the night, and he did the rest. Seattle Parties matched us with DJ Ben Meadows, and we were completely satisfied. We are pretty finicky music lovers prone to heartfelt rants or raves, and had thought we'd either get one of our friends to DJ and/or we'd put together an iPod playlist. We wanted the music to be a prominent part of the wedding and reception, and as the date approached, we realized what a challenge it was going to be to get guests of all ages and musical tastes to enjoy or at least not hate the music. We thought that perhaps there was something to be said for a professional who has experience doing just that, and so despite our many misgivings, we looked around for the dreaded "wedding DJ". We were very lucky to find Ben, who DJs a range of nightlife events beyond weddings and was familiar with our somewhat eclectic taste. He put together an upbeat and edgy evening of music that ran from the processional to the end of the reception, and he did a great job of reading the room and fine-tuning the music accordingly. We were very pleased with DJ Mike from Seattle Parties for being our DJ as well as taking care of the uplighting for our venue! DJ Mike was great at responding to emails, meeting up with us, great questions were asked to make sure the day of will go smoothly. The music was great--DJ Mike incorporated the songs we like with some of his other songs which we talked about during our meetings. The ambience of the reception was really good and the music was loud enough--but not too loud. Dinnertime--I can still hear conversations I have with my guests. The music flowed really well and he definitely kept our guests dancing until we ended the night--grandmas, aunts, uncles, little kids, and our 20's/30's crowd of friends danced at some point throughout the night! He was professional and the uplights looked great. The dozen uplights that we had had to be manually changed each time a new color is switched, but DJ Mike was very discreet about changing it throughout the night that we didn't even notice him doing it--just that the colors had changed when we asked him to. My partner and I were recently married and hired Leslie of Seattle Parties to be our DJ. We interviewed several local DJs, and were dismayed because we just couldn't find the right fit. I sent an email appeal to Seattle Parties, wondering how they'd respond. To my surprise, they got what we wanted immediately and were super-enthusiastic to help. Leslie is a bundle of energy and creativity. She's funny, has an encyclopedia knowledge of music, and really knows how to keep the party going. Between her and her darling husband Sean, our wedding and reception music was a huge success. Their equipment (sound systems, mics, etc.) is excellent and Leslie's "DJ voice" is soft yet commanding, never harsh or annoying. Our guests danced until the party ended and Leslie never failed to keep them entertained. Really, I could go on for days about how wonderful it was to work with the crew at Seattle Parties. Top-notch service and true professionals who commit themselves to making your event a unique, memorable success. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again or recommend them to others. read more

This review is for DJ Kristina Childs. Kristina recently DJ'ed our wedding outside of Leavenworth. From the beginning, Kristina was very responsive via e-mail and phone (as I was planning a wedding remotely), and we even met in person a few days before the wedding. She explained her approach (give her 10-15 songs on the "must play" list and well as some on the "do not play list") and I was relieved to know that I didn't need to hand-select every song myself. I wound up selecting more than 10-15 "must play" songs and, given our time constraints (we had less than 2 hours of dance music time), she wasn't able to play all of the songs (including most of our slow songs). However, she definitely kept our guests on the dance floor! I got many compliments about Kristina both during the reception as well as on the dance floor. She was able to get the songs I asked for for the ceremony itself (Vitamin String Quartet), and she was very flexible with last-minute location changes based upon the weather. I would definitely recommend DJ Kristina for your next event!!! read more

DJ Sean was a boss! Sean was our DJ for our wedding a few weeks ago. He provided the music, all speaker/mic equipment, and directed the guests throughout evening in a fun and friendly manner. Also he provided the party lighting for the dance floor and around the venue, which was beautiful and really lended to creating the party atmosphere. Not only did he keep the party going throughout evening, but he played all our requests and even the guests requests. People tend to be pretty critical of DJs at parties/weddings and we received nothing but compliments. Furthermore, he had a very comprehensive website where we could create a timeline of the evening, when we wanted which songs played, and create a playlist for the reception. As a bride who constantly was in touch with vendors over email it was so nice to just list all my needs on his website and know he had it from there rather than 40+ emails back and forth. In addition, he is also just a genuinely awesome guy! The fact that him and his wife Leslie are DJs together is pretty dang cool. read more

Seattle Parties is the best! I found them when I was engaged and looking for a DJ for my wedding. I loved that Sean was in a band and Leslie is an east coast rocker with a soft side. We had this big list of what we *didn't* want at our wedding - no "YMCA," no power ballads, no talk of butts - big, "doin the" or otherwise...and on and on. They met with us to find out not just what we listened to, but who we were. At our wedding, Leslie helped with toasts, getting people seated and general emcee duties, which was great, since our wedding party were all from out of town - it was nice to keep the pressure off of them. We didn't really think people would dance, but Leslie got everyone into it, and EVERYONE danced. It was kind of unbelivable. I'm in a job now where I recommend DJ's to clients, and Seattle Parties is always my first choice. They have what all true professionals have - regardless of field - a sense for their audience, and an ability to read and respond to the crowd. Highly recommend! read more

We had the pleasure of working with DJ Sean for our August 12 wedding at Sodo Park this summer. There are literally millions of words to describe just how happy we were with how Sean delivered. My husband and I weren't really too picky as to what we wanted him to play- just something upbeat, new, old, and that everyone loves! He completely blew us away with all of the fun songs he played during our reception...We all danced until the venue told us it was time for us to leave!! We both feel that we could have danced five more hours! Sean also kept the flow of the wedding events (garter toss/bouquet announcements, toasts, etc) so easy and organized! DJ Leslie is AMAZING and the perfect DJ. She pretty much helped us come up with an audio CONCEPT for the various parts of the wedding and pulled it off effortlessly. We wanted a classy ceremony but an all night dance party and she took care of it all and really made my wedding dreams come true! The dance floor was full until the very end! I had so many guests comment on how great she and her assistant were. She is warm and effervescent. And a real DJ, music aficionado and artist, not just a wedding vendor. For me it felt like a friend (an incredibly talented one!) was our DJ. I happened to mention lighting and she took care of it, even had a special starry night sky effect one that fit our theme perfectly! Even my groom wanted to contribute to this review: I am writing this with my feet in an ice bath. 4 hours of raucous, hilarious, nonstop dancing by DJ Leslie left my wedding guests thrilled and entertained. DJ Sean is the best! We just had our wedding and out of all the DJ's we interviewed, and we interviewed a lot, he was the one who seemed the most interested in the experience WE wanted, not what he thought we should have. We planned on having Celtic music as our main wedding theme before moving into the party music later in the evening. Sean was a great help in getting all the songs for us, without us having to worry at all! This was completely different from our experience with previous party DJ's who had us get all the songs for them. The ceremony music was flawless and his announcements were great! The entire wedding went off without a hitch and the party afterward was fantastic! He made it feel like a nightclub with all the lights and the pounding base. Seattle Parties is as good as it gets! I've got to share that I've had the opportunity to work with many great DJ's over the past years spent as an event planner. Seattle Parties far exceed my (really high and particular expectations with their professionalism, hard work, dedication and customer service. When it came time to plan my own wedding, DJ Leslie was the only one that I thought of who could pull off my eclectic and French themed affair. We began with a mix of vintage and current French songs that moved into pre-ceremony music. After our ceremony, she organized a collection of tunes that followed the energy of the room and got everyone out on the dance floor. It has been a while since we got married (like 7 months now), and I think my desire to leave a review is a compelling take on how we felt about our DJ. We had DJ Sean as our DJ and wow, he was the best! I'll admit that I thought it was a little silly that all of their DJ's name's were just their first name with DJ before it, but we all know those other DJ names are stupid anyway. Sean was fantastic! He helped out a lot with sound, kind of took over as an MC when we needed one, and really went with the flow on our music preferences and all of that stuff. He played just the right stuff and knew when not to play certain things and when to fade out properly. Technically good, but also had a good ear and love for music! I am a local event planner who has been working with DJ Leslie of Seattle Parties for years now. She truly is awesome in every way - her energy, her vibe, her knowledge of music, and her ability work a crowd. I most recently hired Leslie to emcee a huge charity auction which took place at the Seattle Waterfront Marriott in downtown Seattle for over 350 guests. Leslie was not only responsible for providing music, lighting, and sound, but also for being the reader for the event in support of the auctioneer. I was SO impressed with Leslie's ability to seamlessly keep the auction moving and exciting for the crowd, as well as pitching in sound bites with the auctioneer to help bid up items. We raised over $400k that evening, and I truly believe that Leslie's contribution was an integral piece of the success that evening!
