I am a wedding planner who has worked with Sean at several weddings. He has always been incredibly punctual, professional and has done a fabulous job every time. Most recently we worked on a Sunday evening event together. While sometimes Sunday events wrap up a little early, Sean did a wonderful job at keeping guests engaged, and had guests on the dance floor until the lights came up. I also appreciate Sean's experience with the technical side of things. The ceremony was a tricky dock setup, and speakers were also needed on an overhanging balcony. It has been a while since we got married (like 7 months now), and I think my desire to leave a review is a compelling take on how we felt about our DJ. We had DJ Sean as our DJ and wow, he was the best! I'll admit that I thought it was a little silly that all of their DJ's name's were just their first name with DJ before it, but we all know those other DJ names are stupid anyway. Sean was fantastic! He helped out a lot with sound, kind of took over as an MC when we needed one, and really went with the flow on our music preferences and all of that stuff. He played just the right stuff and knew when not to play certain things and when to fade out properly. Technically good, but also had a good ear and love for music! He made a good deal with us and was the perfect amount of helpful but not controlling all along the way. DEFINITELY consider DJ Sean! He's amazing. You won't be upset. read more

DJ Sean was very responsive and great to work with. We first spoke to him over the phone, and his willingness to help and easy-going personality made it clear that he would be a great MC. Furthermore, he did not balk at our request for some samples. His sample mix that he "just threw together" were incredible! Some other DJ companies flat out refused or complained that it wasn't part of the interview...um, how are we supposed to know if you are any good if we can't hear any examples? We interviewed 5 DJs before we decided to work with DJ Sean. He can actually mix songs, which is different from fade the previous song and then transition to a new one. Mixing actually requires skill, which Sean has! We're used to music talent from California (LA always has the latest) and Sean can stand his own with that crowd! We hired Seattle Parties for our wedding about 6 months before the event. Our guests were 75% under 30 (really into clubbing), 5% in their 30s, and 20% somewhere between 55+. Sean really knew how to read the crowd. We only gave him about 2 dozen songs that were on the "must be played" list a week before the wedding and he took it from there. He chose the right songs to match the mood and activity during the reception. The older crowd (parents age) were raving about how he selected the perfect songs for the mood - light during speeches, good pace for eating, etc. They asked us if we picked those ourselves - which we didn't. All that credit goes to Sean! For the majority of the wedding guests, the dance floor was THE place to be after 11pm (when the music really took off). Our friends kept coming up to us, surprised and excited by what Sean was playing. The dance floor remained packed until we had to kick everyone out at 1am. Everyone was really impressed by Sean's mixing abilities and wide range of musical selection from our top requests, recent favorites to our favorite 90s hits. His ability to coordinate with our wedding planner was also astounding. When we were running behind, he was able to help set up the uplighting as we had discussed months ago. His ability to remember and prepare for our wedding was much appreciated. He also had a great voice for announcing things that made people laugh and pay attention, depending on what he was trying to achieve. DJ Leslie turned the dance floor at our wedding into an amazing PARTY. My wife and I (along with the majority of our guests) danced non-stop until they literally turned the lights on at the end of the night. She does a great job at reading the crowd and left us wanting more at the end of the night. Beyond the dancing, she did a wonderful job with the sound/audio for our ceremony, toasts and other music. A huge thank you to wonderful DJ Kristina! We met with her a few months before our wedding (which we had to completely redo in about 4 months due to external circumstances), and was amazingly professional and helpful. The facility that we used in Ballard had its own somewhat-prehistoric sound system, and she visited the facility beforehand to make sure that her equipment would be able to interface, and also brought her own backup speakers just in case. The sound system went off without a hitch, and she was spot-on with not playing banned songs while also adding some of her own filler music. Everyone was dancing during the reception, old and young. Thank you for a wonderful experience! Update: If I could give 6 stars, I would. Not only was the music great, apparently Kristina saved our playlist, so if in the future I want to use them for background music at another event, I can recreate it. read more

Hiring DJ Sean was one of the first and best decisions we made for our wedding. He has a very laid-back approach and we were immediately comfortable with him - he isn't about the bells and whistles, just wants to play great music and throw a good party. Our reception music was perfect and everyone had a great time on the dance floor. DJ Mark was a completely fabulous DJ for our wedding in August! I cannot recommend Seattle Parties enough. From start to finish Mark was attentive, responsive and great on the actual day of the event. We are still getting compliments on the music and how he mixed all different styles and genres so seamlessly. I was nervous because I really didn't have time to micromanage any of the music or even our selection. We hired Seattle Parties on a recommendation from a friend, who had used Sean for their wedding. We didn't even interview anyone else. When Sean recommended Mark I basically just went with it. They have a great online tool where you can load up songs that you would like to hear at your event. I assigned this task to a very music savvy friend of mine who spent about 2 hours picking out a mix of about 60 songs. I then talked with Mark before the event and he said that he would pick another 40-50 songs to mix in - ones he knew were crowd pleasers at weddings. This made me nervous, but I just went with it, trusting from our discussions that he would choose genres I told him we liked (the online tool also let's you pick songs that you hate - a "no play" list, awesome!) Well, the night of the event was just smashing. We didn't have a lot of traditions that required Mark to say a lot for us (no parties to announce, no cake cutting, etc.) but when it came time for the music he was fired up! We even had friends who NEVER dance to hip hop on the dance floor. It was amazing! He was also so kind and generous to those making special requests including our 12 year old nephew who was so nervous to ask for the last song. It ended up being an awesome selection and he was so excited that Mark was so willing to chat with him about his selection. (Mark also got there early and set up audio for our ceremony, which went really well too.) So, I cannot recommend Mark and this team enough. We were very pleased customers! read more

Sean is fantastic! Our videographer (Mitch @ Cabfare Productions) recommended him. He was very responsive and had the perfect laid-back nature that comes from DJing hundreds of weddings was still very interested in learning our unique desires. Unfortunately, we didn't have a lot of time to compile lists of songs for him (which he said we could do), so he quickly diagnosed my style through several thoughtful questions. On the day of the wedding he was a complete joy to work with and stayed until the last person stopped dancing at 1:45 without an extra charge. Literally dozens of our friends told me how much they loved him. He somehow managed to keep our mixed age group of guests on the dance floor all night. Leslie was amazing! We love her! we were pretty specific about some of the music we wanted at our wedding. she was able to tie in radiohead at dinner, and even a NIN remix at the end of the night b/c it's my husband's favorite group. My biggest concern was having a dj that could read the crowd - don't put on Dynamite while my grandpa is on the dance floor, and if the floor clears when you put on a song, change it - Leslie was everything I wanted in a DJ and more! Sean was our wedding DJ and he was fantastic! We didn't want a game show host-type DJ that would talk non-stop throughout the reception. Sean isn't like that at all! He is super low key and we knew he'd be a great fit for us. We met with him twice - once to interview, and once a couple weeks before the wedding. We had some specific songs we wanted, but we trusted Sean to play something good before the ceremony started, which he did. After the ceremony during dinner, we had told him a few bands we liked, so he played a selection of their songs. He got the party started after dinner and no one wanted to leave! We got married on new year's eve, so Sean took charge of the countdown to midnight. Sean also took care of our officiant's mic, the mics for the speeches, etc. We didn't have to worry about a thing, and there weren't any awkward moments of feedback/screeching on the mics. We didn't feel the need for a ton of fancy lighting, but Sean brought a few and I think it enhanced the feel when everyone was dancing. We highly recommend Sean! read more

We hired DJ Leslie of Seattle Parties with the hope of hosting a classy yet FUN wedding reception at AQUA. Based on all her good reviews, we had high expectations and she exceeded our wildest dreams. Her music selection, her timing, her personality and her amazing voice were perfect. This was a second wedding for both of us, most of our guests were in their mid 50s, but we also had a nice crowd of 20 year olds and a sprinkling of 80+ year olds. The cocktail music set an upbeat tone, the dinner music was romantic and the dance music got EVERYONE on their feet...and I mean everyone, even people who claim they "don't dance". Several guests mentioned that this was one of the very best parties they've ever been to...and that includes some very experienced party-goers. :-) I recommend her highly.
