The Nines were the BEST! I knew when my choir friends were singing along that I had picked a great band (well, I knew it before that but it was validating). In my research for wedding bands, I realized you can hire a band and not even get the singers and members that you saw in their promo videos... you just get whatever musicians they have available that night...and you ultimately don't know the "sound" you're going to get. We hired Nik and Joe (just the duet) to perform at a 50th birthday party and they were phenomenal. They were very easy and professional to work with throughout the entire process and communicated frequently up to the day of the event. Joe even reached out to get an idea of the music that would most interest the party attendees. On the day of the event, Nik and Joe arrived on time (about 2 hours before the event) to set up and rehearse. The music selection couldn't have been better. The band looked as sharp as our wedding party! They were dressed to the nines (sorry, I couldn't resist) and looked totally at place at our formal wedding. Not only were they on time, they were incredibly warm and friendly with our guests. They never acted like wall flowers, waiting for their turn. Instead, they smiled and laughed the whole time. The singers even walked around the reception room at times, engaging our guests. The Nines blew my expectations out of the water! When my fiance and I started planning our wedding we were given similar advice from several people. Don't skimp on photography and choose your band or DJ really carefully. The photos last forever but the music makes the night for all the guests. We are so thankful that we made the decision to hire The Nines. The dance floor was PACKED from the first song until the last. They even got three of our 90 year old grandmas moving and shaking! Our guests danced so much that they were complaining about sore feet and blisters for days and at least a dozen people told us it was the best time they have ever had at a wedding! When we heard Bruno Mars' "Mary You" play on the radio for the first time, we knew The Nines lead singer had the PERFECT voice to rock that song. We hired The Nines to play our wedding a few weeks ago (late August 2014) in Cle Elum, WA and could not be more pleased. In addition to playing the reception with a high amount of energy that kept people up and moving, they also handled the sound for a windy outdoor ceremony, and played an outstanding, understated acoustic set during dinner. They sounded exactly like they do on their website, but played with an energy that can only be felt in person. They were exactly what we wanted. Our guests raved. We'd hire them again tomorrow. Missing from most of what you'll read about The Nines on Yelp and elsewhere is what a pleasure they were to work with independently of the music. Joe (the person you'll deal with if you hire them) has a great deal of respect for the time and money of the people who hire The Nines. Months in advance of the event, Joe created a contract which included very detailed expectations for both sides. Every now and then, I had a minor question for Joe and he always responded to my emails quickly. Then, a few weeks before the event, Joe reached-out and scheduled a call for us to go over every detail of the evening so that there wouldn't be any surprises or false expectations for how the night would go. In that last conversation, it was clear to me that he had taken careful notes in all of our previous conversations and email exchanges, as he referred to them often and made sure that we were still on the same page with everything. In sum , these guys were friendly, fun, flexible, and great-effing musicians. Planning a wedding (or another event) can be exceptionally stressful. If you care about live music, want your guests to love what they hear, and don't want to have any anxiety related to the sound quality or music, hiring The Nines is a smart use of your money. The Nines! played our May wedding in Poulsbo and they were absolutely phenomenal! They played really great background music during dinner, setting the ambience, and then as soon as it was time for dancing, things got even better! The dance floor was packed the entire time and everyone had so much fun. These guys were awesome. We hired them to play for our November Wedding and everything was even better than I had hoped for. There was a point during dinner service where I was wondering why they weren't playing live since they were supposed to do slow jazz and I couldn't see them from our head table and then I had realized they were in fact playing where I thought it was recorded music. We hired The Nines! To play at our wedding and they surpassed our highest expectations. Everyone had a great time and a huge part of that was due to The Nines!. We knew these guys were good when we hired them, but we had no idea how truly amazing they were until they actually played at our wedding reception. They blew us away. The dance floor was full all night! There was music for everyone ... new songs, rock, disco, and everything else. I'm not a huge dancer, but I don't think I left the dance floor all night! Joe, the band manager, was very professional and took care of all the details without being noticed or in the way. He was always smiling. Joe was very easy to work with and the contract was straightforward. As promised, on the day of the wedding, they were on time and managed all their equipment. What a night! My group and I hired The Nines for a last minute "Engagement Party" at the Seattle Sheraton and they did not disappoint. They were incredibly professional and easy to work with as well as reasonably priced. Joe and the band listened to requests and kept kept the audience entertained the entire night. I'm not sure where to start. The Nines, in my opinion, are the best wedding band ever! I could not have been more pleased with my decision to book them. Aside from marrying my husband, The Nines were my favorite part of the wedding. They played all of the music at our wedding, aside from the string trio (booked through the Nines) for the ceremony and cocktail hour. They played the bride and groom grand entrance song, acoustic music at dinner, cake cutting song, first dance songs and open dance music. Our guests loved the band. We received countless comments from our guests on how great the band and music was.
