If you are lucky enough to get in contact with him, you may end up getting ghosted somewhere down the line and there's nothing you can do about it. My story is short: 1.Reached out to him about an tattoo idea. 2. He responded and seemed interested. 3. I set up an appointment but my autocorrect inserted May 8th instead of March 8th but I didn't catch it. Ok, my fault I understand. Stuff accidently happens sometimes. 4. So instead of verifying why I would be making an appointment with him 3 months from now, he set the appointment and then ghosted me. 5. Showed up to his place March 8th to no answer and then caught my mistake. 6. Emailed him more than once after realizing my mistake in order to set a correct date. 7. I got my first tattoo here by an artist that I initially vibed with. I gave him my drawing on what I wanted, but through miscommunication through my part and his part, my tattoo did not turn out to be what it wanted; the tattoo didn't heal properly (on my part), the tattoo itself was falling apart, the ink was not sticking, it was becoming scaly. I was torn because the tattoo was supposed to represent my struggles w/ mental illness as I begin my career as a mental health registered nurse to help others that were going through psych crises. Anyways, I called the manager, Justin & he booked me for an hour to redo my tattoo. When I came, he greeted me, introduced himself to me and started discussing every last detail of what I wanted VS. what I expected. He educated me on the aspects of tattoo design, why it didn't turn out the way it did as well as how to communicate with an artist so that both parties leave no room for misunderstandings. I wish I could give you guys 10,000 stars! Everyone who works here is seriously such a gem. Very clean and fun space, and I felt super comfortable the whole time. My artist is Sierra and she is such an amazing artist and person overall. We hit it off right away and I had a very detailed consultation with her. I got my tattoo done on 10/13/16 by Chris Noogin. He did an amazing job! I follow him on Instagram and I've always admired his work. Then I finally got one! I remember when we were discussing how I wanted it and he brought out a couple of drawings.. the added geometric bit I fell in love with immediately. I told him to have fun with it and I trusted him completely. This is my second tattoo, but it felt like my first one because it's a much bigger piece. This is one of my first reviews I can remember writing so hopefully I can emphasize my pleasure and overall gratitude for the entire experience so far. I had initially followed my tattoo artist (Chris Noogin) on Instagram so I knew he was a pretty talented and reputable artist, but I was pleasantly surprised with how truly gifted he was. My goal going in was I wanted to have a "American traditional" theme, but wasn't exactly sure of all the specific pieces I wanted in the sleeve itself. During my consultation I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness and overall decor of the shop (plenty of cool artwork painted by the shop artist's that you can focus on while attempting to block out the pain from the tattoo itself lol). Chris and I sat down and discussed my ideas with this tattoo and went over different styles and possible pieces for my sleeve. It was quickly evident that we were both on the same page as to what would look good and how each piece would fit on my arm. During my first session I was excited and relieved to see how dedicated Chris was to his craft. Upon sitting down, Chris brought over a notebook with at least 7 different pieces he had hand drawn out specifically for my tattoo. With him being the artist, I let him take the lead on where each piece should go and how they should flow together overall. The dialogue was very free and open as to where they'd be placed and I felt very confident I would love this tattoo. Like some other people have mentioned in their reviews, Chris was excellent at BS-ing with ya to take your mind off any pain associated with the tattoo. Chris is legitimately a cool dude, I felt like I was kicking it with one of my friends. As you have probably noticed with how long, detailed, and probably over written this review is; I was beyond thrilled with my experience. Everybody who has seen my arm has had nothing but great things to say about it and it's not even finished. The work and experience were so impressive that in the time since my first session my brother, girlfriend, and girlfriends cousin have either had a consultation with, or received a tattoo by Chris. Shoot, I think I get tattoos more often than haircuts so I'm glad I found Seattle Ink & Oil and more importantly, I'm happy to have found Chris. A friend referred me to Chris and I found out a good chunk of people that I know sees him too. I've gotten a few tattoos by him, actually 4 now and he is slowly starting to become my favorite artist. I just can't seem to say enough good things about him and his work. Due to my spontaneous nature, I seem to always get random tattoos from random people just because I never seem to like anybody thattt much to stick with, but problem solved. Chris himself is awesome, super cool, professional, and did I mention awesome? He really shows that he cares for his clients, but most importantly, his artwork is bad ass. Check out his portfolio! The shop itself is located in one of the rooms at the Rainier Brewery, you should see a sign for this place. Parking is easy, there's a huge parking lot, just don't park at any of the reserved spots for other shops here. So much more convenient than finding street parking at other shops in Seattle and not to mention the annoying hassle of running back to the car to feed the money eating meter every couple hours if it's a longer sitting session. Ain't nobody want to deal with that in Seattle's BS rainy weather. My experience here has been wonderful, the only thing that can make it better is if they start feeding me spring rolls during my visit. No, I'm kidding...or am I? Totally kidding. I came in to Seattle Ink and Oil to get a full sleeve done by Mouse, and I couldn't be happier. She did such an amazing job. All I had was the koi fish and the owl and she turned it into something that I will love and cherish forever. She was unbelievably pleasant and fun to spend hours and hours with over 4 sessions. I can't say enough good things about this tattoo place. I've been wanting to get a tattoo for a while and found Justin's artwork and just knew that this was the right artist for me. I sent him an email and he was quick to set a consultation with me. During the consultation it was easy explaining to him what I wanted out of the tattoo and he asked me a lot of questions (a lot of things that I hadn't even thought about when it came to the design of the tattoo). He was very specific with what things he asked and we were able to form an idea of a design, the fact that he tried to get as much information as possible solidified for me that this guy actually listens to his customers and that I was in good hands. When I went in to get the tattoo Justin was friendly and confident which I really appreciated since I had been nervous all day. The design was amazing and he knew just how to shade it to make it that much better. A great experience for my first tattoo and I will recommend this shop to anyone that wants to get a great piece of art. I cannot being to explain how incredible of an experience I had working with Sierra (as well as the other staff at Seattle Ink & Oil). I have a few other smaller pieces by various local artists, and my experience with those companies don't even compare to Seattle Ink & Oil. Sierra's passion and creativity exceeded my expectations for the design. She created a piece that was beautiful, feminine, and flattering to my shape. Justin did a traveling roadshow this past month. He stopped in Denver where I met him for a cover up. I sent pics a few weeks before I met with him with few details of what I wanted and a pic of what he was going to cover up. When I met him he gave me some thoughts and I actually didn't see the sketch he had yet. The next day I showed up for the first look and he was spot on, mind reader? Maybe. I sat with him for 5 hours and this was the best tattoo I have had. He's an amazing artist, he's real and he's a pretty good guy. His art has depth, it comes alive on the flesh canvas.
