A cute little coffee shop! I stopped in on a Sunday morning and it was busy, but not in a way that made it overcrowded. Service was mostly friendly (if a little short) and I was served within 10 minutes of arriving. I'm FROM Seattle, so I'm especially picky with coffee... and this was delicious. A little milkier than Seattle coffee but the espresso had the right amount of caffeine. I highly recommend the Bella Mocha! It's rich and not too sweet. The only downside to my visit was my blueberry scone--order something different. It only had ONE blueberry in it and was a little too crumbly. I'll be back to try the White Russian... but I'll skip the pastry next time. read more

It's the perfect little shop! I typically get an iced white russian with whole milk, and it never disappoints. All their staff are very nice and get your drink out quick. I've had their lattes (hot and iced), cappuccino, iced mocha, iced chai tea, and cold brew/toddie. The lattes and cappuccinos are delicious, I get a hot cappuccino w vanilla and whole milk and it's the perfect flavor, not too sweet and delicious espresso. Every latte I've had has been great, iced or hot, it's sweeter than a cappuccino but still great flavor. Mochas are not my favorite, but I've tried them here and they're pretty good, but definitely very sweet. Their chai teas was a little watered down, I wished there was more spice flavor. I would not get the cold brew/toddie again. It was very watered down, not as cold as I wanted, and wasn't great flavor. There wasn't any ice in my cold brew (which is fine since it's already cold) but after 15 minutes it was too warm and I couldn't enjoy the flavor. I really prefer their espresso drinks over anything else. The white russian is a sweet drink, but is so good. I'm not totally sure what the flavor is, maybe white chocolate, but I get an extra shot so it doesn't become over powered with sweetness. They have many alternatives to milk and offer a very wide flavor selection! I would recommend this coffee place to anyone! read more

What a neat little place! Tucked into a shopping center in Tempe, this place is bustling with energy! My wife and I went in on an early Saturday morning and the line was out the door! First impressions are important and the amount of people pouring into this small coffee shop definitely made me want to try it more! I am a traditionalist when it comes to my lattes, I really like to taste how well they made the latte so I never get flavor. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Almost perfect latte served by a gentleman that was working a million miles an hour and still took the time to ask where we were from and such. How this place has been around as long as it has and I only just heard of it is beyond me. I love coffee. I have been here two weekends in a row now, this past Sunday bringing my boyfriend who is QUITE the picky cold brew drinker. I've taken him to what feels like 100 coffee shops in AZ trying to convince him of my favorite ones and every time, he doesn't like the cold brew. Honestly, I was beginning to think he just didn't actually like cold brew and hadn't realized it yet. Well ... I finally found it. The coffee shop to please the picky cold brew snob. This one! This place lost my business, and my daughter's business, due to their inconsistent mask policies, and the horrible way they treat customers. My husband and I visited this place last week, without masks (we are under the medical exemption), and the woman behind the counter was pleasant and spoke with us at length because we are originally from Seattle, and owned espresso businesses in Seattle back in the late 1990's. At no time while we were in the shop did she tell us we had to wear masks. Today I returned, this time with my 25 yr old daughter (who had a mask on), and I was denied service unless I 'put on a mask.' I explained that I had come in before without a mask and that it had not been an issue. I explained I had a medical issue and could not wear it, but the young man behind the counter said he could not serve me. I told the young man, who refused me service, that the CDC just mandated no masks, and he said, "That does not go into effect until tomorrow!" Wow, I think the owner of this coffee shop should do some research on masks and viruses and re-read our civil rights and our medical rights under HIPAA, and train his employees to be consistent on whether or not he wants to discriminate against people who medically cannot wear masks. This place lost my business forever, and my daughter, who lives down the street, and has lots of college friends, was totally put off by the hypocrisy of their policy on masks. She saw how it put me in an awkward and humiliated position, and she will not return. We left and drove to Coffee Rush, 5 minutes away, and had no issues with masks at this coffee shop. My husband and I have been to Coffee Rush numerous times, and they always treat us with respect and never discriminate against our medical condition. Coffee Rush has great customer service, very personable, and great coffee. I recommend going to Coffee Rush as they are consistent with their policies and never embarrass or humiliate customers. read more

Mmmmmm Coffeeeeeeeee.... was my first thought when I walked in here and got the whiff of coffee that hit me. It smelled amazing the minute I walked in. I always need my morning cup of joe before I even start my day. Thanks to yelp and the discussion thread that Lindsey started I really wanted to try this place out since it is so close to my work. I've heard a lot of good things about the White Russian Mocha so I had to try it out and I definitely wasn't disappointed! It was delicious and the staff there was also very friendly and welcoming. I really will have to come back here to try the rest of their menu and their other coffees. My only negative about this place was that it was a little hard to find. I drove around for a while before I actually found it because it is kind of tucked away in the back of the shopping center. Best coffee I have tasted, by far, in the short 20 years of my life. Here's why (+ positive, -negative, -/+ neutral): + They're a hole-in-the-wall joint. That means little to no traffic, cozy, fast. + Simple menu. It really bugs me when coffee shops have a hundred-and-one different drinks up on the board. Seattle Espresso's menu does not mess with your mind. -/+ The baristas are average. Most of the time I come in and they're friendly, but once I had a guy treat me like I wasn't even there. His friend came in and they started talking... while he was making my drink and when I paid. +++ I LOVE THEIR DRINKS. Their espresso is smooth and blends well. Their cup sizes are decent. They have very unique flavors, my favorite being the white mocha. The coffee experience here is sublime, to say the least. read more

We woke up one morning, not feeling like making coffee at home and definitely not willing to deal yet again, with the rat race assembly line cat herding corporate big box craziness and weak coffee that is Einstein's. Since their cappuccino making skills are sub-par, we decided to try this little place instead. We liked the fact that it wasn't busy, with plenty of available outdoor seating but then again, sometimes that's not such a good thing. I order a cappuccino for here and I'm asked "hot or cold?". Huh? I asked for a cappuccino, not a cold cappuccino, not an iced cappuccino, not a frappuccino so why is that even a question? Also, when you operate a proper coffee shop and somebody orders a coffee "for here", then you should serve their beverage in a porcelain cup, especially since you're serving up illy caffè italiano. Didn't your sales rep offer you the porcelain cups? I've got an entire set of cappuccino and espresso cups at home, that I kept when I sold my cafe. If you didn't get a set then ask for it. It makes a difference, whether you're drinking a cappuccino, espresso or just a plain cup of Giuseppe. Trust me. Guess what I was served instead? A Starbucks knockoff of a cappuccino, in a paper cup, with the de rigeur ridiculously excessive amount of foam. This is NOT a cappuccino. At least it's not an Italian cappuccino, which is where the beverage originates. I know. I've been drinking them ever since I tried my first one in Italy as a piccolo bambino cattivo. Ma vaffanculo, va! Questa cosa schifosa non e un cappuccino! A real cappuccino is served very warm, with a nice dollop of foam, in a porcelain cup and NOT scalding hot with three inches of silly foam on top in a paper cup. So in essence, this place is nothing more than a mom n pop version of Starbucks for people who don't really know an authentic cappuccino from a turnip truck y'all. You know, like them folks that like think that like fancy joints offer up iced caps so like this place is like really fancy like like y'know like? If that's your thing then good fer yoo. Enjoy yer cawfee. I wanted to like this place....I really did but I don't. Might I suggest learning how to make a proper cappuccino, in the event you decide to separate yourselves from the ordinary crowd. Then again, maybe not. There's plenty of business for ya in these here parts. In the meantime, I'll just keep making my caffè a casa mia, when visiting the valley of the sun. read more

Good coffee and espresso drinks. Ice bevies are a great way to keep cool in the summer heat. They use quality beans and that makes the difference. Kids enjoy the Italian sodas. Staff is friendly. But sometime are low key boujee, Chris in particular. Leslie (or Lizzie?) was a bit short with me when I asked about an item menu. Couple hipster baristas too, Wayne and Alex come to mind. The number of regular, faithful customers who frequent Seattle Espresso rivals that of any coffee shop I have ever been to either in the U.S. or internationally. It is my, and many others, home away from home. Go, and go more than one time. Try a double shot iced White Russian and then work yourself across the menu! All of their drinks are delicious! The Baristas will remember you and your drink, especially if you go a couple times. My favorite aspect of Seattle Espresso is that all different types of people frequent the establishment. It is not only made up of trendy, hipster customers, although some of them come here too! The quality of the espresso is very good. I ordered an iced latte with whole milk, and the barista made it that way but for some reason added some heavy cream to it. I was walking to my car when I realized this and went back inside to have him re-make it with just whole milk and no heavy cream, which he kindly did. As I was driving away with the new cup, I realized that there were coffee grounds at the bottom of my cup, which puts a bad taste in your mouth when it goes through your straw. Worth parking the car and walking in to get your daily cup of coffee or tea. Their espresso is amazing and the staff is always friendly and personable. I think it speaks volumes when staff works somewhere for a long time, instead of always seeing different faces. And there are some baristas that have been there for as long as I can remember! They truly value the regular customer and it's nice to have someone that recognizes you and knows your drink. The iced White Russian is my go to. I seriously have to stop in to get one every single time I'm in the area just because it is that good. I get a double shot of espresso and no whipped cream. Another staple to the South Tempe scene, Seattle Espresso has been a great place to hang out for as long as I can remember. The coffee here is usually superior to the world's larger chains. The baristas are always friendly, and let you know when anything new and exciting comes in, like a rare variety of organic Japanese green tea that tastes incredible. Out front a fountain softly plays its tune while you enjoy the drink of your choice. If you like people watching, this is a great locale. Best.Coffee.Ever. The White Russian, hot or iced, has been my go-to for 13 years now. They use Illy espresso, have a huge selection of loose leaf teas, and have 3 different brewed teas everyday. My kiddos love the endless possibilities with the Italian sodas here, which are always topped with a kid approved amount of whipped cream. Pastries and bagels are always fresh and delicious. I cannot say enough about the service here! They are always friendly, smiling, engaging, entertaining, and their music is always good. Seattle Espresso is an amazing coffee shop! Many of the baristas have been there a long time and their expertise shows. The espresso is flavorful and wonderful, one of the only places where I can drink the cold brew black. Also secret insider tip- two of the baristas have been amazing by letting the shop be open on Thanksgiving and Christmas. They leave it open until about 2. Definitely recommend! Anyone should try it out. :) If you prefer "frou frou" drinks, try a White Russian Mocha. Delicious. For those of you who appreciate espresso, the product used does not disappoint! read more

LOVE this place. Finally, someone that understands that coffee is not supposed to be burnt. Everything tastes perfect and I find myself drinking it as if it were water. I only wish that they had a 32 ounce option. The 20 is good, but it's gone in 15 minutes. If you are near Warner and the 101, definitely give this place a try, it is phenomenal.
