Tried to tune the furnace anyway to accommodate it, which was actually kind of fun to watch all the different ways it could be done. No other HVAC technician I've ever worked with before has done that. A/C maintenance went great too. First company I've ever hired that didn't try to sell me an entirely new unit just due to a faulty capacitor. Even gave me the model number of the capacitor to replace if I want to save money and do it myself (I'm reasonably handy so it's something I'd probably do). I'll be using them for as long as they give great service!

I sent a message via Yelp on a Sunday night and they immediately scheduled our oven troubleshooting for Monday afternoon. Their front office staff is incredibly responsive! George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. Astera will be getting first crack at all of my appliance and HVAC service calls going forward.

I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. Lakeland Heating and Cooling (Jason) was nothing like that... $1270 flat rate to replace the water heater. Yes, thats how he replied in his email.. as I requested. My entire cooling and heating system was left in an inoperable state…read more I called for a diagnostic of the air conditioner today because cool air isn't coming from the vents. I was told the diagnostic would cost $149. I asked to be informed of any repairs that had to be done. Technician checked the system and recommended replacing unit. We discussed replacement unit and cost. I was ready to pay deposit. In the next 10 minutes I was told that the model I selected is old and not available. New model costs $1000 more. I asked for a proposal to decide later. Technician told me that the visit costs $396. He said that he fixed air conditioner that was not working. He never told me that he is fixing anything. Through our the visit it looked like he was figuring out the problem. I talked to the owner and we agreed that any repairs that were done will be undone so that I do not have to pay for repairs. Then the technician removed all the wires from the board making both heat and fan unusable. He did not just undo the "repairs", but made entire system unusable including fan and heat which were working before his visit. See the photos to show what was done!

I contacted EconoTemp and they told me they could have a technician to my house by noon. Perfect. Tavares arrive soon after noon and immediately started the trouble shooting. I needed an igniter, and the overheat protection switch was stuck in overheat. He was able to fix that switch without replacing it, and diagnosed a failing blower motor capacitor, which might have been causing the blower motor to not move the heat out efficiently. In the end, I had a great functioning furnace for less than I anticipated. EconoTemp was friendly, prompt, and extremely competent. I fully recommend them!

(From what I understand, while they used to be called Econo Temp, they recently were purchased/merged with First Care Heating & Air, and their HVAC techs seems to still be the same experienced techs which were from Econo Temp). In any event, their HVAC service professional--Paul Petrakovitz--came over the same day to fix our heating/cooling issue. I found him to be honest and forthright about the issue and cost involved. The pricing was reasonable (under $300 for everything), and he had enough time to do a seasonal maintenance & cleaning of our outdoor AC unit (he washed out all of the cottonwood in the unit), performed cooling maintenance for the main system, & checked all of the wiring and controls. I was happy with the service and will call them again.

The first sump pump that was installed unfortunately had an issue with the lighted plug but they came back out to replace it so it's all good now. I highly recommend Jason to anyone looking for a plumber - he's really one of the nicest plumbers I've met and he'd clearly and patiently answer any questions you may have. Their quote was also competitive. I'd definitely be calling them in the future for my plumbing needs! P.S. if you're unable to reach them at their phone/office number, try messaging them via Yelp.
