Affordable prices, great instructors, and endless supplies of equipment available for rent. Did a surf lesson with some friends and had Aaron and Charlotte as our instructors. THEY WERE PHENOMENAL! Friendly, funny, helpful, and good knowledge about surfing. We were able to keep the equipment until the end of the day which was a great bonus for us to continue surfing as we please. They are also extremely flexible and accommodating. I recommend surfing at seaside over other beaches. First time visit to SSS and it EXCEEDED all expectations. Specifically the help from the witty, sometimes sarcastic, and playful Morgan made this experience 5/5. We were on a guys trip for the weekend (from Seattle) and she bantered with us like she was one of the gang. She could likely tell that we had stopped for a couple beers before stopping in and she played to that vibe extremely well. She helped us get our gear, pick out our boards, and even give us crap about our "experienced" surfer friend. We intentionally went to this shop as they did 24 hour rentals and due to the fact we came in late on Friday, Morgan just charged us 24 hours even though we could return Sunday afternoon. Been surfing West Coast for 25 years. From Jordan River to Playa Kandahar. Have hit any number of shops (50?)to buy needed gear, support local and pick up a tee. For the record: Worst Shop Ever. Walked in to buy. No eye contact, Surly as fruc, Jaded board vendor just sitting on his computer. Zero selection on shorts and tees. The "Mr Zogs" sweatshirt selection is bumping -- if you're nostalgic for 1983. Spastic selection of boards, with no apparent curation for local shapers or Norcoast conditions. Total apathy. Awesome team of people here!! I've been to this place several times over the past years, and always enjoy dropping in for whatever reason. I was just there this weekend with a group of friends for some rentals, and everyone there was so great. Super chill and helpful, genuine and interested in what beach we were off to, and then we came back, wanted to hear all about it! This place is cool. Variety of t-shirts, board shorts, sweatshirts, etc. There are also surf boards and skate boards in the shop. Hanging on the wall behind the desk were a number of old skateboards. One was the same board I had back in the 1970's. We left with a couple unique t-shirts and a pair of board shorts. I also picked up a nice leather wallet from the counter. This place rocks. I brought my family in to go surfing and wanted to rent some suits. I was a little scared because my whole family is on the large size. And by large I mean XXL. They helped every step of the way, from the first text message about what to bring, to equipment selection, beach selection (it really matters, can't overstate this enough), water safety, and surfer lingo! Some of the shops on the coast are more tourist destination than surf shop, but this is a proper surf shop. They have a good selection of gear, the people that work in there are quite knowledgeable and the owner, Dennis, is a pretty rad dude. They seem to care more about actual surfing than the image that so many people who work in surf shops try to portray. No arrogance here. It's a nice change from some of the people who surf in Oregon that seem to think surfing is their birth-right and "If you don't surf, don't start." Just had a family trip to Seaside. The surfing looked great, beginner's level waves. I had my kids with me though, so we rented boogie boards and wet suits. Decent pricing ($30 per a person for a boogie board and wet suit for ALL DAY). Our girls (11 and 7) LOVED riding the waves like sea otters on their boogie boards. We all just laughed and laughed side by side rolling over the waves. They did NOT want to go in for dinner! Oh, and their wet suit booties fit better than another wet suit rental we had in Seattle for SUP boards, so that was a bonus! Great staff. Seaside seems to be a great spot to check out for beginning surfing, or just boogie boarding as long as it's decent out. read more

This is my favorite surf shop in the northwest. Every time I have come in the staff have been super friendly and chatty (in a good way!) and incredibly helpful. They seem genuinely interested in helping you out or answering any questions you might have. Last time I was there they let me demo a Schuler board and hooked me up with a new wet suit for a great price. I will always stop in here when I'm surfing the Oregon coast, and even if I don't need anything, I'll at least buy a couple of bars of wax. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Was recommended Seaside by a friend here in Vancouver. He said the staff and the prices were great. I was on a surf trip down to the Oregon coast last week and decided to look into prices for a wetsuit from Seaside. My friend was right, the staff are fantastic and the prices are too. I had emailed Dennis about a particular wetsuit before arriving and he had one delivered to the shop for me. When I tried it on, we realized it was too long for me. I wanted to leave the trip with a new suit and Dennis made it happen. He ordered a smaller sized suit and had it delivered for the day I left. On top of that, he gave me a free wetsuit rental (including gloves, hood, and boots) for the entire week. I will definitely be spreading the word about Seaside. read more

When I was interested in renting a Shuler surfboard, but needed one longer than the usual "demo" model, one of the guys actually pulled his own board out of his truck for me to use for the weekend. I've always loved the idea of surfing on the Oregon Coast but have never been that comfortable in the ocean. I decided to finally pull the trigger and don't regret a second of it. Lauren, my instructor, was awesome. I have both horrible knees and back but she was able to accommodate my limitations and shared some styles that were catered to my overall flexibility. My lessons took place at Short Sands in the morning when it was low tide. We practiced pop-ups and getting a feel for the different currents and white water. I took almost an hour but I ended up getting up on my final try. I hung onto the board and wetsuit for the rest of the day, went back out on my own, and could instantly tell my lessons were paying off. I had my fair share of wipeouts but was able to get up on my own 5-6 times the rest of the day and enjoyed riding some 2 foot white water waves to shore. I plan on continuing to rent from Oregon Surf Adventures the remainder of the Summer and look forward to what comes next. I highly recommend Oregon Surf Adventures no matter what your skill level is. No doubt you will have a great experience. read more
