We've had the beach bikes on our "bucket list" for a while, so we'd planned in advance to be there…read morewhen it opens to enjoy a longer ride with the bikes. They are open based on the tides - which is clearly important! So that was great to read on their FB page. Each day changes with time - due to the tide, so be aware and plan accordingly. We went on a Thursday, hoping to avoid major crowds - while it was very crowded in the town we arrived at opening time and were able to get in and out very quickly. We arrived at the store, my son went ahead while I parked. There is a public parking directly across from the store which is an amazing find - just be sure you get there early enough to get a spot. I was concerned it would be a long line with the new COVID restrictions and 1 person at a time in the store. However they were very fast and very efficient. They provided simple but precise instruction, clear in their communication on how to use the bikes and explaining everything to look out for on the beach. Ensured my taller son had a bike that fit him - it did and it was perfect. I had a beach bag that I wanted to take but there is no place to put it, they offered a back pack which was a huge help and bonus - talk about customer service support. The back pack saved me as was easy to place on my front so I had provisions for the kiddos. We rented the recumbent beach bikes, you have to carry them to the beach but it's super easy. Just follow their instructions. It will take a few minutes to get a handle on how to move your body with the bike - there is no hand steering, it's all through you body which is a great core workout :-) I think it's a fantastic experience for the young and old. The bikes we had were well oiled in and good functioning order, we had no issues with the bikes although my younger child was tired before we made it to the end of Cannon Beach so it took a while getting back. If you are taking it to enjoy the tide pools it's an easy there and back. My 11 year old got tired a bit earlier than my older son and I. They do have kids carrier attachments which is awesome if kiddos are younger. But I think if you make it an easy ride, an enthusiastic younger child could manage the beach bike a short distance. I'd plan for extra reinforcements like cool drinks and something to sustain a 1 1/2 to 2 hour ride and adventure on the beach. Since it was a good sunny day - sunscreen and hats are best. Prices were completely reasonable and totally worth it - ours was $20 for 90 minutes with some grace period to get to and from the beach. They were excellent all around. I'd highly recommend this and we will absolutely do this again.

You could call it a touristy store but if that's what you call it, then it's a 5 star one. The T-shirts are screen printed there. We saw some cute shirts from the window and decided to go in and check them out. This very, very old lady kept appearing literally a foot away from my daughter and I as we were trying to shop and would just stare and watch us. Never asked us if she could help us. I was so uncomfortable with her being on top of us, that I told my daughter to put back the $50 sweatshirt I was going to buy her. I mean, I was wearing a $200 North Face Jacket, my $175 Hooka shoes, and $400 coach purse. But this lady treated me as if I walked into her store with a trash bag on. I would advise to stay away far away from this store.

I had told her I would buy a few if they were real & not fake. The man working overheard & gave us attitude the moment he heard the work fake. We then put back TWO squishys she had in hand & I put back a magnet. I wasn't going to spend my hard earned money on a store with that type of customer service. We continued to walk down towards the beach & that man from this store FOLLOWED US BLOCKS AWAY into another store that was almost to the end of the street. He directly approached & harassed my young daughter on "where did you put that peanut squishy?" "I saw her play with it & saw her leave". I instantly told him in front of the other store owner (where we were buying a sweatshirt for my mother & 9 bracelets for my daughter) she put everything back. Look at your cameras within your store. You will see her putting two squishys back. When he was walking out of the other local business i stated again .. "Look at your footage. Your store has cameras!" I cannot believe a man would follow a mother, young daughter & a grandma a few BLOCKS away from his store to come harass a minor about if she put a fake squishy back on his shelf. Before you go wrongfully accuse of someone of stealing. Get your facts straight & don't go harassing a family on their vacation.

The Carousel Mall is one of the coolest things about seaside. Of course the carousel is the key…read moreattraction, but the stores are actually pretty good. The building has been here a long time, so it looks a little old fashioned and maybe a bit run down from the outside so it looks like it could be miss. There's a store or two that have some great sweatshirts and other souvenir items, though it really does have a vast selection of clothing. Another store has some clothing as well, and toys and goodies. There's one store that's truly a toy store. And there's an arcade in there, I think. But the carousel! It's huge and beautiful and cool. All but a couple of the animals move and there's a bench or two for those who aren't about the bobbing animals. My daughter had never been on a carousel before and she loved it. As soon as the carousel stopped she started saying and signing "more" so we immediately went on another spin on the merry go round. She later went on it again with my sister. The cost for the carousel is $5 per ride as of July 2025.
