The Carousel Mall is one of the coolest things about seaside. Of course the carousel is the key attraction, but the stores are actually pretty good. The building has been here a long time, so it looks a little old fashioned and maybe a bit run down from the outside so it looks like it could be miss. There's a store or two that have some great sweatshirts and other souvenir items, though it really does have a vast selection of clothing. Another store has some clothing as well, and toys and goodies. There's one store that's truly a toy store. And there's an arcade in there, I think. But the carousel! It's huge and beautiful and cool. All but a couple of the animals move and there's a bench or two for those who aren't about the bobbing animals. My daughter had never been on a carousel before and she loved it. As soon as the carousel stopped she started saying and signing "more" so we immediately went on another spin on the merry go round. She later went on it again with my sister. The cost for the carousel is $5 per ride as of July 2025. read more

No visit to Seaside is complete without at least a walkthrough the Carousel Mall. The collection of kitschy souvenir shops, the Carousel itself, and a Chinese restaurant that I've somehow, in my 40+ years of coming to this town, never eaten at (yet! I keep telling myself I'm going to do it) still makes me smile, even if just browsing. As a beach town, you'll find lots of shells, gems and precious stones, candies, candles, jewelry, toys, games, silly hats, clothing, apparel, and other things you could definitely live without, but somehow, you really, REALLY want to buy them, because you're on vacation. It's okay, live a little! Get yourself some egg foo young, ride a wooden horse, buy a ridiculous hat, and make a mad dash for the beach! read more

We had a good time at the arcade. Nice variety of machines, some better value than others, if you get me. We played a bunch of games without spending a lot of money, and had enough tickets to score a prize to take home to our toy chest. The boys at the prize counter were friendly. Nice way to spend some free time. read more

The Carousel is the centerpiece! Seaside was our home during the Memorial Day weekend and was next to a bustling downtown. We cruised the shops and restaurants on Broadway Street and walked inside this little mall. Inside featured a dozen shops (okay, maybe a little bit more) that surrounded a replica of a classic fully-functioning carousel with colorful horses and animals made from molds of antique wooden originals ($3 cash only). It was very cute! Seemed like the shops were built around this beautiful old fashioned carousel. There were a panoply of stores that sold delightful gifts and jeweled blings, clothing (fun novelty shirts and sweatshirts, and some awfully cute, cozy hoodies!), and, lastly, plenty of souvenir shops. There's even a Chinese restaurant inside. My favorite, though, were the candy stores and ice-cream shops, ya know me!! Not very far from the beach, we walked about two blocks from the popular Prom and Turnaround in which the statue of Lewis & Clark is displayed in the middle (did the expedition duo really stop in that spot, I dunno, but it certainly gave us that impression). Anyway, the "mall" isn't huge (don't expect a Westfield-type mall) but it was fun to walk around inside. I didn't buy anything inside the mall, lord knows I already have too much stuff at home. This was the coolest place or close to it. We wandered into this mall and found wide variety of products. They had clothing, purses, ice cream, dog items, food, toys, and candy all piled into these little shops. Need a board game, they have it! Shop to your heart's content. read more

Lots of cute souviner shops in a crowded space, the usual selection of overpriced tee shirts, stuffed animals, and bottles of sand. Great for little kids if you have deep pockets, because the little ones with us were stopping every five feet crying for something shiny in the Windows! The carousel is very sweet, and seems to be the star attraction. But there did not seem to be any cleaning between rides, and no spacing between riders so we did not let our little one ride, which made for a very traumatic exit read more

Love visiting the beach during stormy weather, but it makes window shopping a challenge. So, if you are in Seaside and want to get in from the cold and keep your kids entertained, this is probably your best bet. The centerpiece is an old-fashioned carousel and they play up the old time Americana theme with murals in the surrounding area. There is a mix of stores in this mall, but are pretty typical beach businesses (coffee, candy, tourist t-shirts and cheap souvenirs). My favorite store, by far, is Seaside Mostly Hats. A must-visit on every trip to Seaside for our family. read more

Definitely an interesting place to stop by when in downtown Seaside. It almost feels kind of creepy/abandoned, but we had a good time! Of course the main attraction is the giant, beautiful carousel in the middle of the mall. We didn't go on it and didn't stop to check it out, so I can't say much for prices or service. We stopped in quite a few of the stores. There's pretty touristy stores here that carry Seaside branded clothing, gifts, stickers, and other miscellaneous items. It's definitely fun to check out all the different little shops! We ended up buying a sticker from one of the shops to document our time in Seaside... They've got a lot of cute souvenirs if you're looking for yourself or for family/friends! read more

We had just made it out to Seaside. It was a beautiful, but very windy day. So what's the first thing we do? Go inside. Ok, there was a reason. Bathroom stops and my father forgot his hat in Portland. Also it's called the Seaside "Carousel" museum for a reason. A big ole carousel that my daughter HAD to ride. We found a hat store called "Mostly Hats" and there were lots of funny hats that my daughter tried on. She was having a good time with it. I got a few good photos. I even found a hat that was only $5. Couldn't pass it up. I also grabbed a green bandana for only $3 for the kiddo, aka pirate. That went right on her head and then it was onto the carousel and off to the beach. read more

An iconic must-see charming old and small mall right on Broadway. Smack dab in the middle of the mall is a carousel that only costs $2 to ride. The mall has quite a bit of character to it. It's also quite clean inside. There are varying shops from a hat shop, espresso shop, collectibles, malt shop, small arcade, etc. I had so much fun perusing all the stores in the mall. I came early in the morning on a weekend so the abundant crowds have not yet started. It's a great experience for an old beach town. read more

I love browsing shops near the beach, but as with most beach shops, the shops in this mall are overpriced. However, they are fun to look at and since all the shops can be accessed indoors, you can stay cool and out of the sun! I enjoyed looking at the hat shop especially, as they have very fun hats to try on! In the middle of the mall is a carousel. Very cute and seemed super popular with the kids! read more

Some great little stores in this mall by the beach and others are just kitsch but worth walking around to see. Obviously, there's a carousel inside for the kids. There is a very small arcade and bumper cars too. Parking can be a real bear, especially in the summer time. read more

This was really fun to visit and my 3 1/2 year old LOVED it. It's a really large, ornate carousel with a big variety of different animals that you can ride - everything from your standard horse, to a bunny, pig, deer, giraffe, etc. It costs a mere $2.50 to ride and the carousel is in really good shape. We'll definitely visit again on our next visit to Seaside. read more

We visited there during our Honeymoon in October 2019. I was there years ago, so pretty much the same stuff, but more fun on this special occasion. We rode the Carousel early in the day, so very few people there which made it more enjoyable. The man running the Carousel was pretty cool, a retired Veteran who happily took our photo while on the ride. Later we went to 'Flash From the Past Old Time Photo'. Hadn't ever done these 'old western type photo' studios but it was fun even for this rock n' roll gal who hasn't ever even worn a pair of cowboy boots lol. The lady working there was very nice and made the experience enjoyable. read more

I had a lot of fun here. Especially at the western photography shop. My brother and I got our western pictures done and the store owners were great and made the entire experience unforgettable. I was also able to buy a pair of seaside sweats and sweatshirt for $30 at the $14.99 & below store. Each shop sold similar things and there weren't too many shops but I still really enjoyed myself. read more

Cute little souvenir mall. All stores pretty much sell the same trinkets or tees. The fun part is the old fashioned carousel to ride, directly in the center of the little mall. Absoulutely LOVE the mall!! Went to lasertag today with the family for my birthday, was so much fun and very well put together. I had been there before and had had lots of fun. However, there was a new referee named marcus? The guy was a total douche and was breathing down our backs the entire time reminding us not to run. His attitude kind of ruined our overall experience. Love the carolsel in the middle! We ride it even time we visit! Many shops to choose from with a variety of goods! The coffee shop has a wonderful assortment of flavors that I haven't seen anywhere else! Toy store is a must stop for families. Toys from my child hood and new favorites each time we visit! Even as an adult, I couldnt contain my joy to see a real carousel and had to ride!. The attendant was absolutely fabulous. I was worried that as adults we would be too heavy but he was so reassuring and even offered to take our picture on the ride! Place is old. Seems like it's original for Seaside, so kind of charming I guess, yeah? Not bad little stop to see shops in here. There is leather store I liked, but it's small. Lots of people crowded in here for summer vacation so kind of it's a busy place. Good to check out if you can. read more

The Seaside Carousal Mall is a highlight of our trips to Seaside! Our family loves the well taken care of Carousal that has animals to ride on for every shape and size. The only thing that I could complain about is that some of the stores in the mall are not exactly "cool." There is stores for every type of person. Most likely. That's why I rate it a 4 star read more
