I usually go to Poke in a Bowl for my Poke cravings, but my friend and I decided to try Seaside Poke. We both ordered the regular-size build-your-own bowl and both agreed we were kind of underwhelmed by the portion size and overall quality. Food (2.8/5): Their salmon was pretty good. I like how they give big fatty chunks, which makes it so satisfying to eat. I also enjoyed how there were so many crunchy options to add texture. The crispy rice and crispy garlic, in particular, really elevated the experience. The spicy tuna however was a bit on the salty end because they use spicy shoyu instead of spicy mayo to season it. Also, for personal preference, I didn't like how finely ground the tuna was. I also didn't like how limited their menu was, with items that are commonly included for free, like kanji and seaweed salad, marked up as premium. Overall the poke flavor wasn't bad but the rice to toppings and protein ratio was off. The whole portion was pretty small already, but rice took up around 3/4 of the container. Both my friend and I had a lot of leftover rice but were still hungry. Dessert (3/5): My friend got a free dessert because she left a Google review, so I got to try 3 different flavors of their rice crispy dessert. I would say all three were definitely on the sweeter side, but I really liked the flavor. Ube coconut in particular had a very strong flavor and I enjoyed the aftertaste. The green tea flavor was probably my favorite thought because it was less sweet than the others. Service/Ambiance: They have a really good ordering system where you just check off what you want on paper and hand it to the cashier. This makes it way less stressful to order and helps people who might have social anxiety. Also, you're able to take time to order and really look at the menu.

Ordered the Truffle yellowtail bowl (half rice half greens as base, added wakame and avocado for extra) for dinner and Pandan flavored Rice Krispies for dessert while staying late at the office one day. The ingredients were fresh for poke place standard, and the flavor of the bowl came very well together. The price was reasonable for the location. I am a fan of the Rice Krispies, nice pandan flavor, crispy and not overly sweet. This place is fefinitely one of the healthier options in downtown.

I ordered a large, but my portion was the regular and I was missing two scoops of spicy tuna. Used to come to this location religiously, but food and service has gone down hill. Not sure if I want to return again.

A total of ripoff place !!! Almost $17.00 dlls for this small poke bowl !! Limited items , no brown rice around downtown is much better places to get a decent poke bowl

This is a close spot that's about a 10 min walk from the convention center. If you don't mind walking instead of waiting in a long line, I prefer the latter. The ingredients are all so fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked! It's so hard to find well made rice. You can build your own bowl or choose from their special list. Their ice cream sandwich was pleasantly sweet and so different from others. The staff were kind in helping us with our order and giving recommendations.

Service is ten stars super friendly stuff But the food was truly mediocre The fish portion is super small And the flavor is not balanced well The store is not so big No vibe here.....

The ingredients were fresh, and I was able to appreciate the flavor and texture of every ingredient that I added. Also loved that the sauces weren't overpowering which can happen at some poke places. The portions were on the smaller side for how much we paid but I'm glad that it was tasty!

Yall, I love poke and I do associate it with Hawaii. I've been looking for a spot with decent poke in Houston. Now poke in Houston won't ever be as good as Hawaii. I've already accepted that fact. But I need a little side poke u til I can get the real thing u know..? So I saw this pop up on my yelp thank to yall. I went to check it out. The first time I went, I got the tuna aioli and the yellowtail signature bowl. I gotta say the flavors the good! u get a choice if u want it with salad, rice or 1/2 and 1/2. And u can also customize your bowl too if u want. I loved both of the bowls I had on day one that 2 days later, I came back again. The Tuna aioli was my fav at this time. I just asked for Serrano peppers added to my bowl to add some spice. I wished that they would cut the tuna into larger chunks instead of dicing it. And I learned from the first time eating there that when I went the second time, I asked for the large bowl instead of the regular. So the regular has 3 scoops which is the size of a tablespoon. I got the large bowl the second visit which is 5 scoops. That was way better. I highly recommend seaside poke and I want to remind yall to make sure u pay for your parking so u don't get a ticket. Parking was very cheap. 30 minutes was 45 cents. I would pay that over getting a ticket anyway :) I will be back here for my poke cravings. The fish here, very fresh. My nose and taste buds are super sensitive so I can def tell if the fish is old or bad.

UberEats Review: This is currently the only poke place I order from. My absolute favorite is the Truffle Yellowtail bowl. The fish is usually fresh and while the bowls are a bit pricey, the variety and uniqueness of the toppings make up for it. The truffle oil they use is SO delicious. I will continue ordering from here and hope to visit in person soon.

My new favorite poke spot. Everything was so fresh! The avocado was perfectly ripe, which is important if I'm paying an up charge. They have yellowtail which is hard to come by in poke places in the city (and they're actually in stock. And they have miso soup! Which I loveeeee. It is expensive however. I've never paid over $2.50 for miso soup, so thats an upgrade. They also do a lot of citrus accents with oranges. I didn't try this time, but I'm curious so I'll keep my review updated. A regular filled me up. I do wish that had a bowl smaller than a regular though. Two Proteins is normally plenty for me. It's a cute spot too with outdoor seating. Check it out!

Still five stars, just giving an update - COVID edition! I stopped by my all time favorite poke spot for an early outdoor dinner with a friend. We opted for two orders of the best bowl ever - the Tuna Aioli. I'm so glad that seaside has kept this menu option because it's my absolute favorite. It tasted almost as good as usual with the delicious shoyu, avocado, tuna (and more), though the sauce was a bit less than usual. My friend went back for extra sauce and they were very accommodating. Nonetheless, something to keep in mind if you order delivery or pickup here! They are taking a good amount of COVID precautions - there's a table setup as you enter where you can either place an order or pickup. I saw someone waiting by the table area but I'm not sure if they're open for indoor dining. An employee took our order through a plastic screen and operated the payment on the iPad, only taking our credit card to swipe. The wait was only several minutes long and we were able to enjoy our delicious meal outside! There are a few tables overlooking EaDo (and the freeway) and it wasn't at all crowded when we went. Overall a safe and tasty option for any and all of your poke needs!

The most recent reviews in here are correct. The portion is quite skimpy. While they provide a lot of protein for the regular ($11.37 after tax), they are so light on the toppings (compared to other competitors like PokeWorks) that I was left eating just fish towards the end of my meal. I was left not close to full after my meal which is disappointing for what I paid for. It doesn't compare to other poke places price wise. The flavors were good, nothing uniquely special though.

Probably the freshest and tastiest poke bowls I've ever enjoyed. Each bite was a more flavorful than the last. Yum.

Everything we had was flavorful, delicious, and all the meat was moist! I can't wait to come back and I'm sad it took me so long to find this place! Highly recommend!! Service was helpful and friendly. The restaurant felt very clean, spacious, and modern with a lot of natural light. They brought our food out to our table and gave us napkins and utensils, so we didn't have to get up and get them ourselves. Absolutely a great dining experience! The portions are also big! My bf and I each got a Hawaiian Favorite combo and couldn't finish them. The entrees are easily two servings for me, so it's a great value! The containers the food comes in are microwavable too, so extra bonus points for easy reheating! If you do manage to finish an entree in one sitting though, you will be stuffed! It wasn't mentioned on the menu, but there's steamed/sautéed cabbage under the meat. It looked a little deceiving because I thought it was just a huge pile of meat, only to find cabbage under. Thankfully, I love cabbage and appreciated that there were veggies to balance the heaviness of all the meat. That being said, there was still a lot of meat, just not as much as it looked like at first. They also give you little containers of sauce depending on which entree you get, which really enhanced the meal. If you get bbq beef or chicken, you get a delicious, sweet, Hawaiian bbq sauce. If you get the chicken katsu, you get a sauce that resembles sweet and sour. If you get a combo that has both bbq meat and chicken katsu, you get both sauces. I poured the sauce over the rice to season the plain white rice, then poured the rest on the meat even though it didn't really need it. BBQ CHICKEN: Moist, flavorful, and delicious!! Comes in small to large chunks. BBQ BEEF: Moist, flavorful, and delicious!! Comes in thin slices. CHICKEN KATSU: Moist! Fresh, crunchy breading! Tastes better with the sweet and sour-like sauce provided than on its own. KALBI SHORT RIBS: Delicious! Moist! Has fatty bits, unlike the bbq beef, which I really liked! Very similar, if not the same, flavor as the bbq beef. MACARONI SALAD: Delicious and flavorful! Tastes just like potato salad.

The food was SO delicious! Tender juicy Hawaiian BBQ, rice, Mac salad, and bomb cabbage. Highly…read morerecommend

My BMP calamansi margarita was distinct in its tanginess. Tried the veggie lumpias and brussel sprouts. The lumpias had tangy dipping sauce that might have been dominated by calamansi. Ordered the daing na bangus (milkfish) as my entree. They gave me the whole fish and it threw me off that it was mostly deboned since I kept looking for the bones with my tongue and teeth. Fish was nice and crispy and the dipping sauce was more savory than what came with the lumpias. The garlic rice that came with the dish was smoky from that wok hay. Probably could have used a little more soy sauce for flavouring. My favourite dish was the turon dessert (fried bananas) along with the ube ice cream. The coconut sauce they used seemed more like caramel. I haven't eaten much Filipino food so I wasn't sure how authentic the dishes were. I was expecting a little more intensity in the flavours, and I don't know if it was toned down for their customers. There were around ten customers that night.
