What an awesome place! We were in Carpinteria to hike the bluff and decided to stop by to check out the garden which was separated by different geographical regions (ie, Asian, Australian , Grasslands etc) with little bridges and a large koi pond with giant koi. It surprisingly was quite large. We found beautiful and unusual plants during the stroll and later could buy those plants in the nursery section. Prices were reasonable and the service friendly. There's also a large chicken run with 3 big chickens and a friendly black kitty we were told is the "chief rodent control officer." LMAO read more

We almost didn't go, because we were on our e-bikes and our batteries were getting low. We decided the extra mile might be worth it. We could not be more happy that we went. This place is amazing. They welcomed us and our fur babies. Beautiful garden paths that wind through stunning flowers plants and grasses all lead back to cute little gift shops of the natural variety and the nursery. Great variety of succulents and plants. Diana was so helpful and kind. She made my day and was very informative. We camp in Carpinteria once and year and we will definitely be adding Seaside Gardens to our tradition. read more

Came here to see live lotus flowers and was not disappointed!! Diana, the owner, was so welcoming and pleasant to talk to. She made our entire experience magical by allowing us to come back and see the lotus flowers up close!! It was my mother's birthday so it was a dream come true for her. The lotus flower is my favorite flower because even though it grows in the muddiest ponds, it overcomes it's dirty environment and blooms into a beautiful flower untouched by any filth (metaphor for us going through life positively no matter the hard obstacles we face). The garden was much bigger than I expected! There was so much to see and I'm amazed by all the different plants! They also sell plants and there were so many cute succulents! The garden is free of charge which is so nice and they are open 7 days a week. We originally were going to go to Lotusland but Seaside Gardens is so much better!! Price wise (free compared to other gardens), friendly environment, being able to go up to smell the flowers and guide yourself through the garden is so nice. We hope to return one day and see more lotus flowers bloom in the garden. Thanks again Diana and everyone that assisted us at the garden. We are extremely grateful for the experience! Love, love, love this place. Even during the sparingly Covid times where there's a little less stock at places. I have to come here there's always something new I see. Today I bought a few plants, some of them are native, and some are not. I also bought the cutest ceramic handmade planter decorations. They have butterflies on them. I'll post a picture so you could see. The staff is always wonderful, They have knowledge to share, always a pleasure. Just walking around and looking at the plants for sale, and their plants to just enjoy like the giant aloe trees it's worth coming here for. Well, lookie here...another ice cream cone in my hand. Damn, you Rori's. I was in Santa Barbara, and how often do I REALLY get to go to Rori's since I live in LA? So, in effort of burning a few calories, I turned to my Yelp app to help me find a place to walk...preferably with scenery.    Seaside Gardens?  Let's roll. Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!   What a great idea combining a botanical garden with a nursery/store! Though the botanical garden was actually smaller in size, it felt HUGE!   Several landscapers maximized the space and created different themed gardens resembling the various climates and regions around the world:  wetlands, grasslands, the Mediterranean, rainforests, etc.  As you walk throughout the gardens (with provided map in hand), you can pick out a theme that catches your eye and then go to the nursery to buy the necessary items to recreate it!  Turns out that your wonderful garden experience just so happens to be one big advertisement for the nursery as well!   Hey...  I was cool with it.  I love Win/Win situations. The grounds are very well kept.  So impressive how each created "region" was spot on.  And how awesome is it that the nursery had wonderful and whimsical stuff to make anyone's gardening dream come true?   Lovely.   Plus I walked off all that ice cream.  5 stars. read more

If you love plants, you need to visit this place. It is both nursery and gardens and both score top points. I love the way they organize their plants for sale by climate and feel. So if you are going for a shabby-chic kind of look you can browse in the "cottage" section. If you are looking for more of a Palm Springs look shop in the "succulent" section. We were able to get two hard to find plants native to Australia that I had been searching for. Afterwards, stroll through the lush gardens that include a tropical, South African, and Asian section. It is also near some orchid nurseries, which are also open for visits. A great weekend outing! read more

Today was a magical experience, a once in a lifetime type of a experience. With the guidance and kindness of Liz and Antonio, I was able to adopt 3 wonderful new plants: Pilea peperomioides, bulbine frutescens, and my favorite beautiful 'Blue Eyes' Fuchsia. Now, I didn't just randomly drop in without doing my homework. Of course, for a while I've had ideas about adopting plant life that would bring the birds, the butterflies, and the bees around. I knew that I wouldn't be around Santa Barbara for much longer, but I wanted to care for something for a while that I could foster and bring back home to tell their story. You guys are the first to hear their story. Here, I began by walking through the diverse and vast variety of the different gardens; tropical, central south American, succulents, Australian, Asian, Mediterranean, wetlands, grassland, fountains, and more. For some reason, I was just swept off my feet (had to sit down, thankfully provided by each garden) and I couldn't help but feel absolutely joy and peace. It's almost like the plants are talking to you saying "stay, be with us". For me, a 21 year old millennial searching for something greater than herself, I was able to find my place. And now, I can't help but feel the need to come back there, and there's still so much to discover... There's obviously more to the story, but there's also more to come. I'm saying this because Seaside Gardens not only gave me a beginning, but blessed me with a connection to something I didn't realize I loved till it hit me. Maybe it might do the same for you. This nursery had a beautiful botanic garden to walk through and a shop with some nice signs that we bought one of. Definitely worth checking out. I didn't plan on spending any money there and was pleasantly surprised by the items I saw so we bought a sign, a pot and a succulent. read more

This is a very nice nursery with a full botanical garden in the back that is seriously impressive. We came here as a group for wedding pictures given the amazing scenery of their botanical garden. They have a great selection of succulents, agaves, aloe, cactus, etc. with good prices. I was able to find a good number of harder to find agaves here as well as some really good books on succulent gardening. Excellent place overall in terms of pricing, selection, and especially aesthetics. Don't skip the gardens! read more

One of my favorite nurseries of today's "nursery outing!" She's got everything! If you love succulents then you'll find exactly what you want. We found some that we have been searching for that are "hard to find" described like looking like a bowl of grapes.
