    cool place to sit

This is a must-visit place if you are ever in Summerland or in the Santa Barbara area. My friend who is totally a spiritual, sensitive hippy who for a hippy, can still come across as being quite judgmental, but I love her regardless. She loves this place and I can see why. The outside space is constructed to resemble being in a tropical secluded location, and it is easy to feel at peace there. I like that they have free tea for us to enjoy. If you are into spirituality and purchasing such paraphernalia, you will have a fun time perusing this place's wares as they have a lot of different goods for sale, from crystals to incense to what have you. The staff here are friendly. The bathroom is nice, so rest assured that if you are walking here from the Summerland business area, that there is a bathroom in sight.

The vibes are great at the sacred place. If you need a place to buy some new crystals or anything spiritual, or just need a place to chill out and relax by a peaceful koi pond, this is the place for you. The staff is kind and attentive, the prices are great, and there is a great selection of products. They also do yoga and other classes that you can find on their website. I highly recommend this shop.

We had a cyclcist go down near the store on Wednesday. The shop was gracious to store our friend's bike since he went to the hospital. The place was so zen, and lovely. I will be back under better circumstances and shop, thank them for their helpfullness, while we were in a crisis, and buy one of the gorgeous geodes I spotted.

My son showed me this beautiful place. They have a huge crystal selection, incense and many other things for sale. They have a garden and fountains outside where you can meditate, pray and just relax. I highly recommend going here! My son and I make a day of it pack lunch and have a picnic at the park within walking distance. Then we drive down the street to the park where you can walk down to the beach!

Absolutely gorgeous zen garden! I've been here a count full amount of times and never disappoints. It is like you are transported to Asia/India with numerous Buddha and Siddhartha statues throughout the store and garden. Inside you'll find the most outstanding little store filled with gorgeous jewelry, crystals, incense, books, local tea from Ojai. (Which by the way is a complimentary, and available for purchase). You'll always leave home with something new and exciting. Personally the best part is the garden itself, you can feel such tranquility. Take a seat and relax and unwind your mind and body. There are some journals so you can write if you're feeling it. All while listening to the sounds of the koi ponds, water pouring, and that serenity. Unplug yourself and come visit the Sacred Space.

I'd driven by this place so many times but never stopped in, then my friends said we were going to meet here for some photos with our dolls (doll club) and I came by. I was the first to arrive and it's SUCH a lovely place. A crystal shop, with an amazing zen garden. I bought a couple of things from the shop as gifts for friends, and took a few photos in the garden before departing. The staff I talked to were all super nice and friendly. They helped me with gift recommendations and were just overall very welcoming. I probably won't stop here by myself but I have a couple of friends I want to come here with who I know would love it. Great positive vibes and relaxing environment.

Friendly staff and great store if you love crystals. The prices are higher than usual but it is a neat experience and they have a nice garden.

Gorgeous space!! We stopped by here on the way from LA to Santa Barbara; it's right on the way if you're doing the coastal route. I wouldn't have made a special trip out here just for the space though, tacking it on to our drive to SB worked out perfect. It's right off the highway, and we did street parking. The entrance already sets you into a peaceful sanctuary place with the buddhas, fountains, pebbles etc. you enter into a shop with all kinds of things, quite extensive. There are two exits to go out 'back' to wander through the space. If I recall there is probably about 3-5 spaces to sit, visit or meditate. It's a gorgeous space filled with spiritual statues where people have left their offerings, small pond, surrounded by bamboo. Def recommend! Ps it's free and it wasn't busy at all on a Friday afternoon

Absolutely gorgeous place. So amazing with the variety of items they have for sale. You can find an array of Asian religious trinkets, books, decor and so much more. All beautifully staged around the shop. The best part were the meditation gardens on the exterior of the shop. Front and back. I need the contact for their landscape designer! My dream garden is basically here. I would visit this Sacred Space twice a week if it only wasn't 2hrs away from me. You can visit the shop free of charge and enjoy their gorgeous garden area.

The view of the garden (e.g., missing are two widths that is perpendicular to the side). Very, very pretty with healthy jade plants.

I've been wanting to come visit this "sanctuary" for several years. I finally drew time to drive 200+ miles across town to visit The Sacred Place. It's okay and very quaint -- the art gallery/shop and garden space is equally the small. The "garden" is really a well manicured pathway along the perimeter of the shop. The statues are well placed and gives the essence of peacefulness. While respectfully admiring each deity, I'm pleasantly impressed many offerings had been given or left behind by other visitors, including myself. That's cool. All in all, the "garden" is nice but is not big as one should expect, so that's a disappointment driving such a long distance. The stones and statues are much more pricer than similar quality that I've seen in San Diego / LA Chinatown or San Francisco shops. However, I always welcome any shops or venues that supports culture diversity.

    Serene garden.

Every once in a while the collective "we" are lucky enough to have devoted, creative owners that create such a delightful and fascinating oasis like The Sacred Space which the rest of us get to enjoy. I've never been to India or Asia, but spending a half hour slowly meandering through this charming spot transports me to exotic lands. The building housing a myriad of mystical goods offers a labyrinth of unique rooms to explore. It feels like a little old house that expanded one room at a time over many years. Inside there are some many treasures to see that it's hard to know where to begin. Crystals, jewelry, books, spiritual enhancements or so many kinds, artwork, antiquities, and so very much more fill the spaces. Then you have the delight of wandering outside in the gardens. The entrance area and exterior out front of the shop only hints at the wonders in the inner garden spaces. Call me enchanted with the meandering pathways that lead you through lush tropical plantings. Water features abound, adding serenity to the landscape. There are various areas to sit and enjoy nature, or take some time to meditate. The last time we went, our grandson and his girlfriend were with us. We'd first brought him here some years ago. He still remembered, and wanted to introduce his GF to this special spot. I consider that a multi-generational endorsement!

I know everyone comes here for the beautiful botanical garden zen space out back...and I do, too. But my main reason for coming is the incense selection here. It is incredible and they have a wide variety of all types of scents. High quality incense that burns oh so well. I never have to start it back up again or anything. I buy A LOT. Go to the botanical garden, yes...but support this place financially by buying products. Love, love, love

We had our furbaby with us (very small dog who we have to carry half the time because she's old and fat), so we were afraid we couldn't come in with her. Mary not only welcomed us warmly, but complimented our furbaby on being so calm and sweet (I carried her the entire time out of respect for the shop). This place has some AMAZING things; things which, if you're TRULY an antiques collector, you'd understand you probably won't see again in your lifetime. Not in as good of condition anyway. We saw some absolutely beautiful early American pieces. Mary was kind enough to explain some of the pieces' histories. So, is this place extremely expensive? For the average citizen, yes, probably. We didn't see anything under $200 during our recent visit. But if you actually know what you're looking at, you'd know that that's what these collectibles really go for on market/auction. They're rare. If you're looking for the kind of antiquing where you find extreme come-ups, you shouldn't be in SB lol, you should be in Ventura or LA. duh. So in response to many of the reviews for this place, doesn't sound like many of those people who were passing through really knew what they were looking at. As for the comments about the owner, I really don't know because Mary was more than kind to us and we actually asked to use the restroom too, and she politely explained that she doesn't even have one-- there's a public restroom right across the street. Also, this is Summerland.....you could probably just walk up the street and literally ask some person to use the one in their house and they'd let you lmao. A precious antiques curated attic is not the place to ask to use the bathroom imo, just saying. Anyway, Mary is lovely and so is her shop. If you truly love early American antiques, stop in because you'll love it.

After a whole lot of coffee and sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for over an hour, my friend asked the woman at the front counter if she could use the restroom. It would have been one thing to tell us politely that she didn't have a public restroom, but it was apparent by her annoyed tone of voice that she assumed we were just there for the restroom. When we asked where we might find one, despite being a local, she said, "I don't know, you could try a restaurant." Regardless, I don't know how many people stop in to use her restroom, but we stopped to see her antiques but didn't stay because she wasn't polite. I have a feeling we aren't the only ones she scares off.

We visited a winery called Area 51 which sounded fun, but the wines were just okay. But Pali Wine had very good wines, a relaxing patio, and cool live music.
