Grilled cheese and Jerusalem feast platter (background)

I went to Field and Fort for the first time in Summerland last weekend! It is order at the counter style, with plenty of outdoor seating options that are first come, first serve. My partner and I split a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato jam (so good), and the Jerusalem feast. It was SO much food and everything was so tasty. The pita, dips, salad seasoning, and sandwich were all 10/10. I am already trying to plan my next visit!

Field and Fort is a gorgeous home store and restaurant. Our food was delicious and the portions were pretty big! Definitely stop by when you are in summerland or on your way over to Santa Barbara!

Sososo tasty and it's all very healthy! I ordered several dishes to try and I was impressed by the variety and how filling the dishes were. My #1 was the grilled cheese with tomato jam. I loved the tomato jam and would have loved to purchase a jar to take home and make my own grilled cheese with. it's also an interesting concept of a restaurant/cafe because they have a cute little homeware store right next to it that you can shop around while waiting for your food.

Food was great! Loved how flavorful the avacado toast was. The coffee was fairly strong if that's what you like.

The service was amazing, I recommend the avocado toast if you're looking for something savory !

Stopped at Field + Fort on a drive up to Santa Barbara and was glad I did -- Summerland is a charming little town with a stretch of boutiques and coastal energy that makes you want to slow down and explore (wish I had more time to shop around!). The restaurant itself has limited parking, but there's nearby street parking and it's a short walk. There's plenty of outdoor seating, and the space is effortlessly styled -- rustic, beachy, and peaceful. It's also connected to a curated home goods shop, which adds to the full experience. I had the mushroom toast and a salad. Both were light and well-plated -- not the most bold in flavor, but still fresh and enjoyable. The menu is definitely vegetarian-friendly, which I appreciated. It was standard pricing for what you'd expect in southern California and for brunch lunch spot a long the beach so a little pricey but nothing crazy. More than just a place to eat, Field + Fort feels like a coastal escape. Between the ambiance, partial beach view, and the shop next door, it's worth the stop even if the food isn't the only highlight. A great spot if you're in the area and looking for a quiet, aesthetically pleasing brunch or lunch stop.

Field & Fort is a charming blend of New England meets California. You order outside at the walk-up window, which keeps it casual, but everything feels classy--the food and beverages are absolutely delicious! They have hands-down the best hot or iced matcha, amazing beet hummus, always a gluten-free option (including their bread!), and scrumptious pastries. Plus, there's a beautiful gift shop inside. Definitely worth a visit!

My daughter loves this place and took us there for lunch. The line was long and it took 30min to order then another 35/40min to get the food so quite long overall. They were nice enough to spontaneously bring us a free scone for dessert for the long wait. We all had sandwiches: the breakfast, the Reuben and grilled cheese, honestly they all were delicious!! We also had a coffee, lemonade and a fizzy drink plus a cheesecake, bill was $100 so not cheap. The shop is super nice with really cool bougie assortment, also not cheap but very beautiful.

Grilled cheese and mixed greens salad was delicious!

Such a cute café and shop. Recommended to me by my friend who lives nearby. We stopped in for a coffee and a grilled cheese sandwich. It was delicious. The bread, cheese and tomato jam were all so good, and a little mixed green salad was wonderful as well. Nice seating area overlooking the ocean and freeway. It was very loud today with some major jackhammer construction going on nearby, but still a nice break!

Field and Fort has a beautiful patio that we enjoyed sitting out on. We got the roasted cauliflower salad and the italian ham sandwich. The salad was good but the ham sandwich was amazing. It took a while to get our food (30+ min) but I enjoyed sitting on the nice porch while waiting. It was also nice to look through the attached store. Overall, I was happy to have come here and enjoyed our food.

Summerland, CA I have been curious about this place since seeing it under construction back in 2019. This is a high end Home Decor store which also provides Design Services, and has a showroom of antiques by appointment. We saw an $850.00 mortar and pestle and a $5000.00 Danish Antique Chair. I also saw a beautiful $2200.00 19th Century Antique French Mirror. The main store sells soaps, lotions, kitchenware, gourmet food items, bedding, linens...etc. Most things are for the lifestyle of the rich and famous but an inspiration none the less...but there are also smaller splurge items and unique brands for gifts, kitchen and home. There is a gourmet coffee bar and Cafe on site with outdoor seating.. We had already eaten lunch but grabbed a hot tea with steamed milk. The breakfast and lunch menu boasts of house made items and local fresh produce. There is a dedicated in house chef and also a pastry chef. Every dish I saw coming out of the kitchen looked like health on a plate, full of vibrant colors and textures...even the house made grilled reuben sandwich with side salad looked fantastic. Outdoor dining. Small Parking lot and street parking. A return visit is on my list of to do's.

Yogurt Bowl with fresh fruit. Recommend

Very cute store off 101 FWY going Southern Cal/Northern Cali. Loved the yogurt with fresh fruit. We also go the egg sandwich but it was way too buttery. Would not recommend. The food took 20 minutes so if you are in a rush- I wouldn't recommend this place. The store has a lot of organic products to buy such as Flamingo Estate. They have mainly a bunch of household products, organic beauty products and a couple food items.

Just passing through here after Sacred Spaces and pleasantly surprised at the amazing products coming out of the cafe. I thought this place was just an interiors/ furniture but it also has a lovely selection of snacks, drinks and sandwiches. We got the patatas bravas (and added a poached egg per the cashier's recommendation...amazing choice), some lattes, quiche and vanilla bean cheesecake. All of them came out beautifully prepared and easy to eat outside. I love the outdoor dining space, sunny and also has some umbrellas and an awning for those who prefer shade. Lovely surprise, will be back again if I'm swinging by Summerland.

When the kids…read morewere little years back, the original seat fabric got all stained and nasty with milk, etc. We went to an undisclosed interior design place and replaced the fabric with marine grade vinyl and thick padding. The result was horrendous. The vinyl was tucked, unprofessionally with big seams/creases at the corners, like a do it yourself job. We didn't care at the time - as long as it held up for the next 10 years, we were good. Come 2020 and that vinyl is getting annoying. Our butts stick to them, the chairs noticeably look bad relative to the rest of our furnishing, and most importantly, the kids aren't leaving have half their food on the seats. Santa Barbara Design Center has been here for a while and I stopped in randomly on the way to Home Improvement. I was introduced to Michael, a knowledgeable and personable chap. I showed him an online picture of the original chair, and that I wanted to restore the seat to its original, sleek, sculptural and refined splendor. He said no problem, provided a couple of premium quality fabric books, and we were on our way. We picked out the fabric and brought the chairs in. Michael commented "my god, who did this work?" 50% down and ten days later, chairs were done, with a message "come down and make sure you are happy." My wife and I looked, were pleased - Michael responded with "here's something that bothers me, I want you to see..." He flipped the chair over and on the bottom, the seat fabric was stapled just outside of the underside frame. You wouldn't see it normally, but from a distance or looking down from the side, you might. Immediately we thought the same thing, yeah, that's not ideal. He said it shouldn't be done like this, let me redo it for you, no charge. His upholsterer redid it, and boy those 8 chairs look great, almost better than the original! The seats came out sleek and wonderfully curved over the underlying pad. The fabric is comfortable, soft and elegant - couldn't be happier. The interior of SBDC fills a warehouse space and contains just about everything; furniture, rugs, lamps, etc. The staff were COVID compliant, and Michael was a dream to work with. He has an excellent eye for detail, is easy to work with, and is an honest broker; I wish we had more projects for him!
