I was here a few months ago and never wrote a review somehow. I had to write one cause this place is a must stop when in Summerland or surrounding area. Absolutely Gourgeous. The store has so much character with so many unique items displayed. From home decor to cookbooks to linen and more. Everything is curated for a beautiful home. I walked around in awe. I purchased linen napkins and a beautiful bracelet made by a local jeweler. I can't wait to stop by again in a few days when I will be in Montecito. Customer service was welcoming and friendly. There is something for everyone whether you are looking for a gift or a vase for your house you will find it here. Price varies depends on what you are getting. We walked by Porch on our way into the Nugget a couple weeks ago and it looked nice enough that I stopped in with my toddler on our way out. This was a win-win for mommy and son, as I got to browse and he got to play with a water fountain. Porch is an attractive home store with a very coastal California vibe. I liked looking at the kitchen items and throw pillows, the miscellaneous homeware and handsome furniture, the original art for sale on the walls. There were two stories to explore, as well as a patio with plants and the aforementioned fountain, which captivated the two-year-old for a good ten minutes. We were both, at the time, in need of entertainment while the rest of the family finished up at the Nugget. We didn't buy anything this time around, but we'll be looking at home furnishings soon, and I expect we'll come back for a deeper browse at Porch. read more

ALl the items here are curated and very unique, and prices are very affordable for the Santa barbara area. the staff is super nice Tracy and Tim not only were very friendly and helpful but knowledgeable and gave good ideas. Provincial to boho chic to elegant to beach to farm house, they got it all for all styles and a very wide variety. Once a year they have a "yard sale" (around the end of august) and things are VERY well priced and their selection is always so varied. Including clothing, stationary furniture and decor. read more

This place is every bit of high quality, relaxed-beach feels for your home or garden. I live in Orange County and make the 2 hour drive for it alone. They have the best pots for outdoor spaces, and amazing decor! It's reasonably affordable and unique, and the owner/staff are super friendly. Do a little shopping, then head for a meal next door at Parado Beach Grill...it makes for the perfect afternoon! read more

I used love to frequent this store on the way to Santa Barbara but my experience I just had with them was so unfair and raw that I'll never go back again. I previously purchased lovely terra-cotta glasses with a ceramic coating that you might think were for potting plants . They made cute cocktail glasses. I bought four of them with plans to purchase more after I made sure they work for me. I bought 4 at $7.50 and they each had a price sticker on them. My granddaughter's been using them and loves them so I called to order 14 more for a Christmas gifts for my excited granddaughter and others. I called to confirm the price, the girl finally found them and said they were $8.50 each and she was surprised the price was sooo low ! I ordered my 14 . The sale was done as she took my e-mail to send me the receipt. She took my credit card over the phone returning with a total for the glasses at 8.50 each. I said I'll be in to pick them up next week. Sale was completed and said good-bye. Pleasant cashier. About 15 minutes later I get a call back from her stating that although I was lucky to get the glasses at $7.50 during my first purchase as she says they were marked wrong in the very being. So she gave me a 3rd price after she had closed the sale for the second 14 at $8.50 each. She says the price is now $17.50 that she can no longer sell them to me at the $8.50 each, even though the sale had been completed . She had already sold them to me at $8.50 each but I could pay the 3rd price of 17.50 each if I still wanted (the glasses I had already purchased). She Reneged on a completed sale. She had my credit card and now she's telling me I can't buy them. I've already told my granddaughter that I was able to buy them for her for Christmas. Now I have to go back and tell her that she can't have them. I find this is very , very poor business practice. I feel that she looked at the glasses and thought the price was to low at this time since all the prices have gone up on everything . She had stated that all of the other glasses were over $22.00 each. They either had not noticed those ones as they were not easy to find maybe they shoved them back and couldn't see them but any rate she ended up reneging on the completed sale. She herself had quoted me the individual price $8.50 , of course she offered to sell them to me for 17.50 each. Won't go there again as untrustworthy, poor customer service and price gouging. Just a note that when I bought the first 4 they had Just gotten in them and had a huge back stock on them. When I was purchasing yesterday they were down to there last 18. So they can't tell me they sold their full inventory before noticing they were priced incorrectly. Poor , poor business practices. I wonder if they would have embarrassed me in front of other customers if I was physically there ? It was embarrassing enough over the phone. read more

It's a little ridiculous. I basically live at Porch. They indulge my addiction to their space. I've been known to perch there for an hour, but the benefit is that my home now feels wonderful with all of the little treasures I've discovered there over the past few years--soy candles that smell like freshly cut grass, a smokey glass votive that casts the most wonderful glow from my nightstand, a prehistoric succulent peeking from a spikey white ceramic planter--Porch is helping me to live my life that much more beautifully. I have a bargain with myself that I can only buy one item when I'm there; otherwise, I'd buy the whole store and my house would look like . . . Porch. See why I live there? read more

I really love this store, but the last two times I've been there, they have made me feel uncomfortable. When I went upstairs someone would walk up right behind me and watch me as if I was a thief! I was so offended. I'm a senior citizen who made a significant purchase yesterday. I have no intentions of stealing from them. If my neighbors Harry & Megan came to the store would you follow them too???? If they are so worried, put cameras upstairs. Tonight we were at a gathering and I mentioned this incident, and someone else said they were there this week and they treated them horrible too! Love Porch! They have THE BEST eye for purchasing the most unique things and furniture for your home. I never see their merchandise anywhere else! And the women who work the store are always so friendly and helpful. I feel like I'm walking into a friends' place when I come in there. And, I don't go all that often. Hidden treasure nicely tucked away in Carpinteria. Found this gem on my road trip to SoCal and fell inlove! It's a beautiful store with wonderful items that gives your home that extra sparkle! It was an absolute pleasure to find this place near the beach in Carpinteria and they were even better to deal with. We had been looking for highly individual and unique outdoor furniture and were getting a little frustrated by both the choice locally and being forced to buy off of a website from the bigger companies without ever actually touching the product. Porch has a great selection of unusual pieces and the prices were a fraction of what we had been seeing and were just about to pay elsewhere. One of the owners helped us, Diana, and she was very honest and conscientious, steering us away from pieces that would not last in how we planned to use it. If you want your deck/garden/porch to be a reflection of your own sense of style rather than a copy of another 1000 others on the West Coast, then Porch is a great place to start. read more

Sorry to say that this was the last time I'll be going there. Loved to visit this store every time I was in the neighborhood or going by but when you are up-charged over 1000% it is too much! That is not a mistake, I did mean one thousand percent markup!!! I understand that tourist shops need to profit and I'm even okay with a 300% markup but this is outrageous! Those wall vases are $3 dollars each from China. And you're selling them for $30 each. That's just ripping people off!!! Candles at $80. Come one here. Sorry but no thank you. read more
