RIght in the center of Burlington you will find beautiful Church Street Marketplace. The…read moremarketplace is a pedestrian zone that spans a few blocks and is filled with shops, restaurants, and cafes. It's very pleasant to stroll along Church Street, especially in the summertime and there are plenty of benches where you can sit and people watch. Church Street Marketplace has a mixture of chain and local stores. You can find everything from used books, to outdoor gear to name brand clothing. My favorite stores at Golden Hour where you can find lots of cute gifts, Smugglers Notch Distillery where you can sample delicious vodka, gin, bourbon, and maple liqueur, and Flora & Fauna - a second floor store filled with curiosities and oddities. Unfortunately, The 10,000 Villages store that I always enjoyed visiting, the Sox Market, and the Earthbound Store that I always found beautiful clothing in have all closed. There's also a great Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop on Church Street, several restaurants in a range of price levels, and some very comfortable cafes. Definitely a place you will want to spend some time visiting when you are in Burlington.

Alongside some of the popular restaurants, they also have iconic Vermont brand stores like Vermont Bear Factory, Vermont Flannel Shop and Ben & Jerry. We also visited a Patagonia store, a bookstore, Catamount store for apparel and gifts, and bunch of other stores. Prices are decent, some stores have sales and discounts. It appeared decently safe, though there were some homeless people around the marketplace. The street parkings need to be paid with ParkMobile app during the posted hours. There are several hotels only few minutes walk from this place. There's also a parking lot nearby that offers 2 hours of free parking.

Costco - Vermont maple syrup! This was $12.99. I paid the same price at Walmart for half the amount!

I am leaving this review after an unfortunate incident at the Costco Tire Center. I brought my…read morebrand-new SUV in for a tire installation in January. After the service was completed, an employee backed another customer's car into mine while it was in their care. Despite me asking to fill out an incident report (it was after 9pm and I just wanted to get home) no one from Costco ever reached out to me. I eventually had to contact their insurance provider, Gallagher Bassett, myself. While my car was being repaired, I was stuck in rentals without snow tires, I even got stuck in my own driveway in the minivan they gave me and was late for work (something that has never happened in my own car). It felt incredibly unsafe driving through the Vermont winter in those vehicles while my 4WD SUV sat in the shop due to the insurance agency's sluggishness. At one point, I was stranded for a week because the agent failed to make a rental reservation. I was told to take 6 AM Uber rides from my home in Jeffersonville to work in Burlington, which are of course, not available. I even had to call out of work one day due to lack of transportation (I was getting help from friends). When I called Costco as a last resort for help, I was promised a callback that never came. Costco's lack of communication throughout a situation THEY caused is deeply disappointing. I didn't even get to use my new snow tires when I needed them most. They have lost my trust.

A bonus is you can get some shopping done in the meantime and they have chairs where you can read while you are waiting. Fred

I think having just better lighting would help, the whole place was extremely dark. Someone needs to go around with a duster or cloth and just wipe some of the products/shelves, they look dirty and dusty. There are some haphazardly placed items all over the place - and not very much household/clothing items. When we first walked in there was 1 couch and 1 chair for sale, then the first front wall had some random garden/outdoor equipement. There was 1 baby stroller, about 2 racks of clothing and the rest was mostly non perishable food items. If you are in need of condiments, canned food, cereals, and the like they have a decent selection although most items are expired. I was not expecting the best selection, but some items like medication/vitamines/baby accessories and baby sunscreens for example should not be sold if they are past their due date. Although it's cheap, I don't know why anyone would risk using expired sunscreen on their baby without knowing if it's effective? That's the kind of item I would not buy, I don't want to risk a sunburn on my sensitive baby's skin. I was hoping to find some hidden treasures and thought perhaps this place could be like Ollie's bargain bin but our party of 4 left feeling sketched out. Won't be returning, there isn't enough stuff and nothing of value.

This is a fairly unique store that offers left over merchandise that's been rotated out of stores…read more It's typically sold for discounts of 30 to 50% off retail sometimes more. It is not a full retail shopping experience so don't measure it that way. It's a great way to shop for bargains if you are flexible and open minded.
