I am leaving this review after an unfortunate incident at the Costco Tire Center. I brought my brand-new SUV in for a tire installation in January. After the service was completed, an employee backed another customer's car into mine while it was in their care. Despite me asking to fill out an incident report (it was after 9pm and I just wanted to get home) no one from Costco ever reached out to me. I eventually had to contact their insurance provider, Gallagher Bassett, myself. While my car was being repaired, I was stuck in rentals without snow tires, I even got stuck in my own driveway in the minivan they gave me and was late for work (something that has never happened in my own car). It felt incredibly unsafe driving through the Vermont winter in those vehicles while my 4WD SUV sat in the shop due to the insurance agency's sluggishness. At one point, I was stranded for a week because the agent failed to make a rental reservation. I was told to take 6 AM Uber rides from my home in Jeffersonville to work in Burlington, which are of course, not available. I even had to call out of work one day due to lack of transportation (I was getting help from friends). When I called Costco as a last resort for help, I was promised a callback that never came. Costco's lack of communication throughout a situation THEY caused is deeply disappointing. I didn't even get to use my new snow tires when I needed them most. They have lost my trust. read more

The calzone is an abomination. It is a crime. It is a 100% stay away. The leathery, over cooked crust starts you off wondering what you have done with your life. I love Costco more than anything. It is my highlight of the week. I went to get a rotisserie chicken for my mom. I came back with the best one I saw but she disagreed and wanted a better one. As I approached the counter the man behind asked if I was putting the chicken back. I answered honestly and he told me he would take it. He followed that up with dropped it right in the trash. IN THE TRASH!! A perfectly good chicken!! They have seals on the packaging to know if anyone messed with it and he didn't check that at all. Costco is always awesome! As a cross border shopper I'm comparing this to Costcos I know in Canada. Prices are comparable, food prices are similar, apparel and electronics, however medicine/vitamins were significantly cheaper. There is also a very different selection of products in just about every departement which I love. I find brands here that I'll never find back home in Montreal, same goes for groceries like specialty cheeses Vermont is known for. The clothing section is one of my favorites, I bought a Marc Andrews long winter coat for 60$ that I wear proudly, it differentiates me from everyone back home since they don't sell it here! Also love my Avalanche fleece thermal sweater that retails for over 60$ on the original website but I paid only 20$. The only drawback is in terms of sizing, for women's clothing, they don't seem to carry anything smaller than a size 6. Either the pallets are empty when I come or they just don't sell 'em smaller in the states, but I usually have no trouble finding a size 4 up north. If you're small, the generous sizings may place you at a disadvantage. Everything else is what you come to expect from Costco, quality items, good deals. Check back regularly for sales and save on name brand labels - However buying in bulk doesn't always ring in cheaper, so do your research and look for price per weight/unit before purchasing. read more

Garry was a complete jerk. He gave me a hard time for using my dads card and I ended up needing to switch my card which was a complete hassle but the woman at the service desk was super helpful and that's the only reason I feel ok with giving one star. I ordered food and it was ready and he made me go get a refund and waste the food. Even Garry's manager said "that was a dick move". What's not to love about Costco? Free samples. Cheap eats (Hot dog for 1.5, soda for 48c, berry sundae for 1.5 and berry smoothie for 1.25). You can feed your whole family for less than $10! I drive by the place on my way to work and would like to make a suggestion concerning their not -as -yet- opened gas station. More and more people are turning to electric vehicles, so I would think it a good idea for them to put in EV charging units and get ahead of the curve. My partner and I went shopping yesterday for the first time in months. The cashier (old, white lady) profiled us after she scanned everything, and told us we couldn't pay for it because the membership card was in my partner's name and the credit card was in my name. Best prices in town on milk, eggs, and bread. Also, the Costco "Kirkland" branded diapers are made by Huggies, and an excellent value. I often come here in search of eggs, milk, bread, bacon, and diapers. Costco also is hands-down the cheapest meal out in town. 1/4 pound beef hot dog with soda for $1.50! A good reason to patronize this particular Costco is because the employees tend to continue working here for a long time, and it shows in every aspect of their operation. Truly a well oiled machine. My mom and I went to Costco just to buy a few things we went to the meat department looking at Kirkland brand of boneless chicken breast to select a decent package of chicken. As my mom and I were looking down at the packages of chicken an employee from the meat department by the name of John came by flipping some of the chicken packages over and tossed two of the chicken packages where mom and I was looking down at the time. My mom and I looked at him for a moment while he walked back to the meat department and he didn't even look back at us to apologise for tossing the meat package where we were because it startled my mom. The employee was so nonchalant about the situation that it didn't phase him because he walked away apparently to get more meat products to display near us. John came back to pack some more meat and there was another lady there looking at meat near us and he said excuse me ma'am to the other lady while arranging the meat, but didn't say excuse me to us when tossing the chicken package. I made a comment to John that he was inconsiderate when he tossed the meat package near us while we were looking at the chicken breasts as I demonstrated to John how he tossed the chicken breast package near us... he stated to me that "I overly exaggerated" the issue. I told him he could at least apologise to my mom, but he wasn't hearing me. Plus, when he said I was over exaggerating the situation a tad bit that means he was aware what he was doing, but he could of just said excuse me for a moment while I rearrange the chicken packages. However, John wasn't hearing it maybe he didn't feel that he needed to apologise to a women of color. All I'm asking for is that you respect one another. read more

I LOVE COSTCO! Living in Montreal, the Costco does not have the same selection as the states. So, walking into this Costco was so much fun. I could not believe how much cheaper things were, cakes here are no less than 17$, when I saw a huge Key Lime Pie for 10$ I was speechless! LOL The variety of meats and frozen foods were great! The people giving out samples actually call people to try their samples. Hooting and hollering about the product. I can't praise Costco enough. I love love love this wholesale chain. Their Kirkland brand products are fantastic, always good quality that I can rely on being consistent, and their prices are excellent. I buy their dog food because it's on par with some of the more pricey high end foods like Innova and Blue Buffalo, but better for my budget. My dog also loves it, so that's a plus. They have great deals on dog treats, and their dog beds are fantastic. I also love to buy their bulk frozen foods, specifically the veggies and these excellent chicken wontons they carry. Their customer service is always wonderful, I've never had a grumpy cashier or boxer. And who wouldn't love their food court? The pizza, the salads, chicken bakes, smoothies, hot dogs... the prices are great, and the quality is excellent. The only thing that makes me a little sad is how much their book selection has declined in recent years. They used to have so many, and now there's less than half of what it once was. I know that's due to digital gaining popularity but it still makes me sad. Though I did pick up the complete Harry Potter collection for myself the other week for super cheap... haha.
