The toughest thing about writing a five-star review is... what can one say that hasn't been said…read moreover and over? This place is great! Their prices are fair; they are totally professional; they go out of their way to make sure repairs are only those needed. I'm a car guy, but I don't mess with air conditioning. The air conditioning in my Jeep failed suddenly and through sheer good fortune I landed here. Despite no appointment, they managed to squeeze me in during the recent heat wave. In a matter of minutes they diagnosed my problem and gave me a written estimate to repair. But the part needed wasn't immediately available so I would need to return the next business day. No problem. As a car guy, I was watching the ebb and flow of the waiting area very closely. What I saw was nothing but fair and honest dealing. No "upselling". No attempts to badger customers into unneeded repairs. In a couple of cases I saw them actually "down-sell" by persuading the customer that all they needed at the time was a less expensive fix. Honesty such as this is uncommon in the auto repair business. We hear stories and witness predatory practices in this industry. So it's VERY refreshing to see a business that's run above board, fairly, and honestly. Keep up the good work, New England Automotive!!!

Let's face it. It's not easy being a guy who knows nothing about cars. It was a little more…read moredifficult to bring my vehicle to a place named "Girlington", but I'm so happy that I do! I have a bad habit of continuing to go to mechanics and dentists that suck. Without naming names, my wife and I had been customers of convenience. We could walk to our former mechanic and got discounts there through our jobs. It was easy but toxic. Time after time after time, we were consistently disappointed and annoyed. The only thing they got right was that we would end up dissatisfied and poorer. I had seen a spot on PBS awhile ago about Girlington. The concept of a female-owned auto mechanic shop sounded so very 21st century Vermont and intrigued me, so I suggested it to my wife, as a means of safely trying them out. She loved them. She got cookies (which ended up in my belly) and a free vacuuming. I then brought my car for an oil change. The positive energy from Demeny and Hannah is infectious, disarming. They're open and will discuss with you what is wrong with your vehicle without being ambiguous or condescending. They just plain get it. And the attitude is shared by their mechanics as well - polite and friendly. After YEARS of expecting far less, the experience at Girlington restores ones faith in humanity. But most importantly, the business runs as though the person, not the vehicle, is the customer. What a concept! They have integrity. They do not nickle-and-dime. I brought my 15-year old "beater" for an oil change. I have known for years that the hood struts no longer work. Well, they failed, as predicted, and smashed the oil cap, a $20 part, where it was left by the mechanic. 90% of shops would charge me for that piece, as it was indirectly my fault. But not Girlington. They took it off the bill. We also had a considerable amount of unrelated work done recently on my wife's car, encompassing tires, a new radiator, and electrical work. On more than one occasion in this three-week span, they did not charge for diagnostics (i.e. plugging your car into a computer). Once a spot opened up for winter tire storage, we were able to say goodbye to our neighborhood shop. Girlington has met and exceeded our expectations and we hope they remain successful for years to come.

When I inquired about an inspection I was quoted $170. I went to Girlington Garage initially because I've been ripped off for services before, but even I know how much an oil change and an inspection should cost. Unreal.

On September 20th 2024, I brought my 2007 Honda Fit to Steve to take a look at some service lights and a funny noise. He fully diagnosed it on the spot, told me I needed to bring it back for a new transmission and new brakes and that he'd call some parts companies and get back to me with an estimate. He never contacted me again. A few nights ago, 12/2/24 my engine started billowing smoke late in the evening and I emergently had my car towed to hometown after hours, thinking that as a loyal customer they may be able to get me in. Instead, I got a phone call from Steve telling me that they have never and will never work on Honda Fits, my car is blocking the plows (there is no snow) and that I need to bring it elsewhere. I asked for a recommendation, and he told me that no one will work on a Honda fit and he won't send me to one of his friends. I brought up the diagnostics he did, and he told me that when he did it "6 months or a year ago" (actual timeline = 10 weeks) that he did indeed call me back with prices, "or maybe left a message". So in one conversation he both admitted that he did work on my car and looked into parts but that he also has never worked on my car and won't in the future. I think I asked one more question and he told me my keys were in the cup holder and hung up on me. Great business, Steve!

My car is an Alfa Romeo and I'm super cautious of trusting unknown shops to work on it. From the first phone call with the manager Jason, through scheduling and ultimately buying and having Gills Point S Tire install new Falken tires on my Alfa Romeo, the experience was flawless and exceptional. They were above and beyond friendly, polite, professional, and easy to work with. My appointment started exactly when it was supposed to, and I was in and out in 30 minutes on a Monday afternoon. I was shocked how fast the service was and haven driven 30 miles home already, it's obvious the tires were installed correctly. I have been going to another local regional chain and I've always been stuck there 2-3 hours and felt like the staff were annoyed to be so busy. I almost hate to leave this review because I don't want Gills Point S to be slammed and a long wait next time I go there lol. And they are definitely my new local tire shop for new tires and winter/summer changeovers. Thank you for making a necessary tire buying experience easy and for a job well done!
