My wife was in an accident and the officers called this tow company. Not only did we 100% get overcharged (of course take advantage of the stranded woman) but they changed her oil. Never once did we request that service, nor did they ask us if we wanted it done. The oil had just been changed about two weeks prior to the accident. There was zero reason to do that. But bam an extra $100 charge for something we didn't want or need. Anything to steal a buck. Stay away from this company. They're corrupt and deceitful. She never got a receipt for the "work preformed" until AFTER she had already paid. read more

I've used Rick for years, He's honest and does excellent work. He charges a fair rate for what he does. He fixes things and doesn't just replace them with new, unless thats necessary. The people who work for him are also very good mechanics. I have a fleet of vehicles here at Shelburne Orchards that I cycle through his shop every year just before harvest time so I know all my cars and trucks can be counted on. Rick's done right by me and my many vehicles over the years. The guy and his team are very reliable and straightforward. Often he'll ask or try to get used parts if you want to go the low end of the price scale. Even those parts end up lasting quite a long time. I've never had an issue getting the car in for work or getting it out the same day. He also has a very reliable towing service that I've only used once but they came out real quick. It's a fairly no-frills garage which means low-overhead and low on labor costs. Don't expect a 5 star waiting area or a shuttle service. He does have a small waiting area but I generally leave my vehicle with him for the day and wait for his call. Nice honest guy and always does right. What more can you ask for from an auto mechanic? read more

Had to rent a u-haul and the great people at ricks stayed open for a few extra mins for us. We got a great u-haul a brand new truck, was treaded with respect. When dropping of the truck was greeted with friendly people and respect. Will go back to them next time when I need services. They know their stuff over at ricks, and have a sense of humor. Needed an 8-ton excavator towed from NY to central VT. Most towing places can't handle that kind of weight. Rick & co could and did it for a very good price, put up with some scheduling snafus on my end, and delivered it right where I needed it. read more

Very sad service overall. Rick failed to properly quote the total hours of labor until the billing hour when all he wanted was to collect the money. As an experienced auto mechanic customer (I always ask for HOW LONG) to avoid HIDDEN COSTS. BUT his mechanic employees who represent him and are supposed to know, and whom I certainly asked, claimed 2-3 hours. When I even asked if I could pick up the car that evening, anticipating the mechanics were correct on the hours they quoted, I found I was delayed yet another day. I arrived only to find not a 2-3 hour labor charge but an 8 hour charge. I guess BMW owners look like suckers. Rick continually claimed he, "never quoted me" which is EXACTLY why I made the personal visit to Rick's shop to ASK, HOW LONG!" Rick cannot train his employees correctly or he is part of a horrible sham operation. Any respectable business would call to notify a customer of any pending additional hourly charges but not Here! I am lucky it wasn't 16 hours. Rick even was "professsional" enough [NOT!!] to decline any negotiation on the deal after his employees wrongfully represented him and wrongfully quoted a time for labor. He even called the police, called me an idiot, and accused me of acting anything but professional. Call Williston PD to get the scoop - do not trust Rick. Get the hours in writing...like most dealers quote... or you too will suffer Rick and his games. So much for trying to bring local business to local businessmen...if you can call Rick that! Made a Uhaul reservation for a Sunday, received confirmation email, and showed up to see "uhaul open 7 days a week" sign out front. Knocked on the door, and a man who greeted us seemed pissed that we were there! He literally yelled at us! "What part of not open 7 days a week don't you understand!?" And slammed the door in our face! No explanation, so rude and uncalled for. read more

This company was recommended to me by Heritage Toyota when the battery in my Prius died and I needed a jump start. I called, they said they'd be there in 20 minutes, and were right on time. The guy who did the work was efficient and seemed liked a nice guy. Will definitely use them again in the future if I need a jump. read more

The supervisor DJ is not professional. You can tell by the way he treats his customers that he is REDS son. He canceled the tow truck after telling me he would be another hour past my waiting time. Don't worry he doesn't have time to argue. And that's why you can't mix family with business. read more

I bought a UHaul truck from them. They told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I brought it to be inspected so I could drive it and Midas quoted me 5700 to fix all the issues with it. I brought the quote back to them and they said there was nothing they could do for me. I've never been so blatantly lied to before. Stay far far away!!! They will screw you!!! read more

This company has been great, They are honest reliable and operate there business with excellence , i dropped my truck off tonight to get service done again tomorrow. while i was waiting for a taxi the tow truck driver dropping off a truck ask where i was going and gave me a ride home. Terrible Business, No customer service whatsoever. Called to get some info on my truck that was in an accident. We were greeted by a shitty attitude and they ended up screaming and hanging up. My car smelled like grease and still does, days after the repair. The $80+ oil change for a 4 cylinder (even with synthetic) was steep. It is very disappointing since I work close to their shop and was hoping to utilize them in the future. I've used a lot of shops and I think this was one of the least appealing. read more

Driver of the tow truck from Rick's did not make any contact at the scene. I took a picture of the tow tuck so that I knew where to call. Every person I spoke with from Rick's had a different answer. I was never told that storage fee was $65 per night. My vehicle did not have any leaks and I was charged $75 for the truck to be cleaned. Guy behind the desk said they charge more for towing, because they have better drivers and that the driver had to be called away from dinner with his family--$150 tow. Plus, the owner charged me a call out charge of $75 for a total of $300. I asked the owner how much I would be charged to bring the car to my house and he said another $93. I asked for my key to clean the car out and was told the driver still had the key from the night before. After 20 minutes, the key arrived. I had a junkyard pick up the car from Rick's and dispose of it. The junkyard gave me $30 for my car and I did not have to pay for that towing. The whole experience was unprofessional. read more
